Does anybody have any tips/advice for a teething baby? He's 5 mths old. His bottom 2 already came in, but I suspect he has some more because it's been AWFUL.

I've done the gels, teething toys that are cold, frozen waffles, keys, and carrots. We've had to break out the Tylenol.

Geez, I never remember my kids ever being this bad teething.

We were so relieved when the bottom 2 came in.....we got a 3 day break, now it's starting again.

Absolutely. Trade him in for a new baby. Just remember to swap their clothes out first.

Make sure it's an older baby who has finished teething.

trade in for an 18 year old so you can promptly kick it out of the house.

Dead serious, frozen waffle. They have drool pockets and they won't break off into small pieces. Of course you need to be there and watch but all my kids loved them. Buttermilk itwas Quinns favorite, my son needed a more sturdy one,mhe had sharp, little teeth so we used a wholengrain kind. Skip the generic, get ego much more sturdy. Stay away from strawberry and blueberry since he's too young and could have an allergy and stay away from the the chocolate because is just messy.... Plus I Ate most of them LOL

Juju are you old enough to vote? You can be old enough to pay taxes but not old enough to vote. Kinda screwed up actually that one can be required to pay taxes when they have no say so in tax law....
I'm going to assume so since you've been here since 2012.
lol I've been old enough to vote for over a decade The only thing I'm really not legally old enough to do is run to be president or to be a senator

My friend wets washcloth sticks in the freezer for like 30 minutes and gives it to the baby
Careful of the finger toothbrush, it is not protection for you when he bites down.

My mom did tell me to use whiskey. She explained that back in the day they used to rub it on a baby's gums.

I'm not using whiskey....on the baby. Just on me.

Kat- the waffle didn't work. I've tried it a couple of times.
Maybe that mesh thing will work? I'll try it.

You can put real fruit in there to like strawberries and watermelon and grapes they can't choke on only the juice comes out no pieces. have you given him a vibrating chew toy ?

Baby motrin might give better results. Is there a baby version of numbing gel?

Yes. At this point, he doesn't want to chew on anything. I'm pretty sure it's a top front tooth coming in.

And I can't put my finger in there and massage his gums. He's already got two sharp teeth. He bites.

Yes. Actually the numbing gel is about the only thing I've found that works, but it only works for a short time.

We don't do Motrin until nighttime. And then we only give it if it's really needed. Motrin doesn't set well on his stomach.

This sucks so bad. I hate it when babies are not feeling well.

They have baby orajel. they even have a nighttime formula. Gave it to my son once and he started making weird grunting sounds and looked to be in a daze...never gave it to a child after that.

I raised 4 teething kids, luckily they were never horrible...especially since 3 were all so close in age, I would have gone insane!

Oh well. I'm convinced he just has a low pain tolerance.

I'll just deal. The plus- I have a really cute baby that will smile at me soon with some teeth.

    Thanks for all the advice.

I had to suffer with my son having horrible growth spurts, I'm hoping he'll be like 7 ft tall to make it worth it. He's above the 90th percentile for height, so it might be possible lol
