I do not know how anyone can think lawn and gone sound the same. I'm also saying them out loud and they sound nothing alike in my accent.

I don't know about that and who either, but a lot of dictators say "This is a patient that was involved in....." and I always change it to "a patient who" but I'm not sure if I should. It just doesn't sound right to call a patient a that.

Yeah, lawn and gone are the same to me. Dawn and lawn sound the same unless I take pains to say Dawn with the W sound in it. I never do that with lawn. However, those W words are def. different with an east coast accent than midwest non-accent.
