A former television news anchor has pleaded guilty to murdering her 80-year-old mother in a fatal stabbing that took place last Halloween.
Angelynn “Angie” Mock, 48, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree murder in connection with the Oct. 31, 2025, killing of her mother, Anita Avers, the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday, Aug. 21.
The plea was entered before District Court Judge Faith Johnson. Under the terms of the agreement, Mock faces a presumptive sentence of life in prison with eligibility for parole after 25 years, according to prosecutors.
