    Ian Roberts, 24, was last seen at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Friday. Officials said Roseville police received a missing-person report at about 4:45 a.m. Saturday after Roberts had not returned home the previous night.
    He was last seen wearing a brown shirt, dark shorts, gray shoes and possibly had a beanie. Roberts is 6 feet tall and weighs 210 pounds. With assistance from Roberts’ family, authorities tracked his vehicle to a skate park in Auburn, where Placer County deputies located it. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team subsequently began searching the surrounding Auburn State Recreation Area.

    A large search was set to resume Monday morning for a 24-year-old Roseville man who disappeared after apparently hiking into a Northern California river canyon.

    Ian Roberts was last seen at 9:45 a.m. Friday, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators believe Roberts left his vehicle at the skate park at Overlook Park before hiking into the American River Canyon. The park sits on the edge of Auburn, overlooking the canyon, and provides direct access to trails descending into it, less than a mile from Interstate 80.
    A missing person poster released by authorities shows Roberts in what appears to be an image captured by a Ring doorbell camera at 9:45 a.m. Friday.

    This is local to me, as Roseville borders Citrus Heights. I have seen this all over FB and the news - just wondering why the big fuss? I mean, glad a missing person is getting attention, but so many others go missing and I don't see this kind of attention. Even juveniles who go missing.

    I'm wondering if that photo was from when he was last seen, possibly leaving his own house? I have yet to figure out where that pic came from.

    Someone on FB mentioned he is special needs. I am not sure if that is accurate though.
