Ian Roberts, 24, was last seen at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Friday. Officials said Roseville police received a missing-person report at about 4:45 a.m. Saturday after Roberts had not returned home the previous night.

With assistance from Roberts’ family, authorities tracked his vehicle to a skate park in Auburn, where Placer County deputies located it. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team subsequently began searching the surrounding Auburn State Recreation Area.
A large search was set to resume Monday morning for a 24-year-old Roseville man who disappeared after apparently hiking into a Northern California river canyon.
Ian Roberts was last seen at 9:45 a.m. Friday, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators believe Roberts left his vehicle at the skate park at Overlook Park before hiking into the American River Canyon.
