Starla Goings (65) missing since 8/15/2025 from Michigan

Sixty-five-year-old Starla Goings has been missing since Friday, August 15th.

According to the Sheriff Todd Brock, Starla was reportedly last seen leaving her Sixteenmile Lake home late Friday night after attending the UP State Fair in Escanaba earlier in the day.

All the while, Stephanie's adult children have persevered in their search for answers.

"At first we were trying to keep the rumors at bay, because we didn't want things to spiral out of control," said Starla's daughter Steffanie Goings.

"We have continuous glucose monitor readings tied to [Starla's] phone, which is tied to us having her location," said Steffanie.

The device used to manage Starla's diabetes was connected to her phone via Bluetooth.

Steffanie said there are documented glucose readings from Starla's device that place her at the house until about midnight, which is when her husband told police she had driven away from home.

After midnight, there are no more logged glucose readings.

UPDATE. Steve has now been seen taking starlas personal belongings and throwing them out and taking stuff to the dump. We dont know anything of all the small things being thrown in the trash but we do know big objects hes throwing out. If anyone sees him throwing stuff out please call the sheriffs office immediately they will tske it or will clear it. And at that point we would appreciate it if anyone can save the objects for someone close to us to pick it up. There are several things we were hoping to get but clearly steve has not spoken to his kids, nor does he care and is tossing out her things. Please help us save something to have from her.

65-year-old Starla Goings was reportedly last seen at her residence on August 15. She was reported missing two days later.

In a press release Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office says the disappearance is being treated as a missing person’s case in which foul play could be a factor.

An orange 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan that Goings was known to drive was found a short distance from her home on Peninsula Point Road in Munising Township.

The ongoing search efforts included remote and wooded areas.

The search for a missing Munising woman is still ongoing.

Now, a podcast has been created to help find answers. 65-year-old Starla Goings has been missing since August of last year.

Wicked Garden Media, a communications company based in downstate Michigan, began a podcast series called “Missing in Munising”. So far, there are only two episodes.

During this podcast, they speak with Goings’ friends and family about her disappearance. The host of the podcast, Mike McGuire, says he’s doing this as a way of helping.

“Thoughts and prayers are great, and well wishes are great, but if I could use my platform to help the family out a little bit, the platform I’ve built by podcasting about her disappearance and keeping the community talking about it, then why wouldn’t I do that,” McGuire said.

The podcast is audio-only and is available on all major audio platforms like Spotify and Apple.

This week marks one year since Starla Goings went missing from Alger County.

Alger County Sheriff Todd Brock said the investigation proceeds at a "rapid pace" and that not a day goes by that he and his department don't do something with the case.

"We continue to work it every day," Brock said. "The investigation is very active and very fluent."
