Family missing from Litchfield Park, AZ since 8/4/26

Members of a Litchfield Park family were discovered missing under "suspicious circumstances," according to Avondale police.

Family members had requested a welfare check for the residents of a home — a husband, wife and their adult son — in the area of North Litchfield and Indian School roads, according to an Avondale Police Department media advisory. Officers entered the home on Aug. 4.

"During the welfare check, officers discovered indications that foul play may have occurred," the police advisory stated. "No individuals were located inside, and all three residents are now considered missing."

The names of the missing were not released publicly, police said, to preserve the integrity of the investigation.

Avondale police are looking for a husband, wife and their son after they were found missing Tuesday from their home near Indian School Road and Wigwam Boulevard.

Officers conducted a welfare check at the home, found no one inside but noticed signs of “foul play,” an Avondale Police Department spokesman said Wednesday.

No details about the interior of the home nor the names of family members were released.

I was going to post this earlier but was hoping they would at least provide more information (names, ages, etc.) by now.

Yeah, I wasn't really sure how to post it with it being so generic, but it sounds like it's going to be interesting so I didn't want to forget about it.

A homicide investigation is underway after human remains were discovered in the backyard of an Arizona home, and the alleged suspect is believed to have fled the country, authorities announced Thursday.

The case began when relatives requested a welfare check for three residents -- a husband, wife and their adult son -- at their home in Litchfield Park.
Authorities announced on Thursday that unidentified human remains were found buried in the yard and the case is being investigated as a homicide.

Police consider the missing adult son, 27-year-old Matthew Flores, an alleged suspect, and say they believe he fled the U.S. before Tuesday's welfare check. The names of the husband and wife have not been released at the family's request.

They aren't releasing the names, but I am going to go out on a limb and say that we can keep an eye out for obituaries with the last name Flores and figure it out.

The investigation began Tuesday afternoon after family members requested a welfare check on a husband, wife and their son, Flores.

Avondale police searched the home and did not find anyone inside, but found a disturbing clue. Avondale Police Officer Daniel Benavidez said officers discovered large amounts of blood and evidence of an attempt to clean it up, which indicated foul play.
Drone footage captured detectives digging with shovels and a mini excavator in the backyard Thursday morning.

Benavidez says the two bodies were found “in a state of decomposition.”

“I can’t tell you how many hours or days, but what I can say is that the bodies are in a state of decomposition,” he said.
Police said they are also processing vehicles for evidence but did not confirm how many vehicles are involved or how they may be connected to the case. A neighbor told Arizona’s Family the backyard pool next to where the bodies were found had been added just last month.
The neighbor said she had heard a person scream the words “please stop” the day before. She said she did not think much of it at the time.

“I was on the other side of the sidewalk and I definitely heard it come from that direction. But I was like, ‘okay, we live by a middle school, it might be nothing’, so I didn’t think more of it,” she said.

A woman who was at a home in the neighborhood for a hair appointment Thursday — located next door to the crime scene — said her hairdresser filled her in on some details. “She knew them, not that well, but she knew them,” said JoAnne Nix. “She said she’s seen them walking, the husband and wife. The son she thought had only been there a few months, but he had a lot of friends coming and going.”

I did a Fast People Search on the son, Matthew Flores, and believe I found his parents.

First, the parent's address is/was (which was a location where Matthew used to reside):

    751 W Mesquite Ln
    Litchfield Park AZ 85340

The residents' names (his parents) at that address are:

    Hector Flores (69)
    Larissa Flores (63)

    Matthew: https://www.fastpeoplesearch.com/mat...04074309831274
    Hector: https://www.fastpeoplesearch.com/hec...13393986879104
    Larissa: https://www.fastpeoplesearch.com/lar...29429407469994

I thought about doing that last night, but then thought about how common of a name Matthew and Flores probably was in AZ and decided I was too lazy for that. Good job on sleuthing it out!

A newly released police report details a son’s concerning behavior leading up to the shocking discovery of his parents’ bodies buried behind a Litchfield Park home.

On Aug. 4, a family member called 911 and said he had not heard from the two victims, Hector and Larissa Flores, since July 29, and they were not answering their phones.

After authorities searched the home and couldn’t find the couple or their son, 27-year-old Matthew Christopher Flores Semyonov, a missing persons investigation was launched.

Authorities believe Flores Semyonov fled the country before officers searched the home and consider him a suspect in his parents’ deaths.

Avondale police interviewed the family member who initially requested the welfare check. He revealed that Flores Semyonovs’ behavior “changed a great deal in college,” a portion of the report says.
He reported that Flores discovered his father had been cheating on his mother, and was upset with his mother that she had not left him.

The report says that once Flores Semyonov finished college, he moved back in with his parents and his lifestyle changed “completely.”

The family member told authorities that Flores Semyonov stopped drinking alcohol and began making vague, threatening comments, such as “you’ll get what’s coming to you,” documents detail.

Family members reportedly noticed Flores Semyonov stopped socializing and was diagnosed with an unknown mental health condition, redacted in the police report.

However, one account described an incident where Flores Semyonov’s mother reportedly found him watering plants in the middle of the night because “the plants told me [Matthew] they were thirsty,” documents state.

He definitely sounded off his rocker. The plants told him they were thirsty? That made LOL.
