The masked and bespectacled 15-year-old, who has not been identified, was seen approaching an East St. Louis, Ill., home in an evil-looking black-and-red clown suit and glaring bug-eyed into the camera, the nightmare-fuel footage shared widely on social media shows.

“I’ve been looking for you,” he chillingly says to the camera before calmly sauntering off the porch and going around the back of the house.

The footage of the teen shows a timestamp of 9:11 p.m. on Monday — less than an hour before police responded to a report of a body found in the road nearby, KMOV reported.

The victim, identified as John Wesley Allen Sr., was found dead just after 10 p.m. from multiple stab wounds, according to police and the St. Clair County Coroner’s Office.

According to the Illinois State Police, officers with the East St. Louis Police Department responded at about 10 p.m. CT Monday to a report of a body in the roadway, KSDK reported.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim Tuesday as John Wesley Allen Sr., 78, of St. Louis, according to the television station. Dye said Allen died of multiple stab wounds.

The teen suspect was taken into custody on Tuesday by the state police, KMOV reported.

Ring doorbell video posted on social media, with a timestamp of Aug. 3 at 9:11 p.m. CT, shows a person dressed as a clown at a home in East St. Louis leaving an audio message: “I’ve been looking for you.”

I'm guessing people recognized him. He looks recognizable in the video, even with a partial mask. I'm wondering if he lived in that neighborhood.

Reminds me of a guy I graduated with, he would wear a clown mask, even in his FB profile. Come to find out he got arrested for sexual offenses against minors. I read he used the mask in one article, can't remember exactly how - I think he was trying to meet up with a child and brought it with him. Gross.

I checked and we are still FB friends, yuck.

A teenager accused of stabbing a 78-year-old man to death while dressed as a clown was charged with murder Thursday, and the prosecutor wants to try him as an adult, Illinois officials said.

The 15-year-old suspect, who was arrested after the stabbing, was charged Thursday with a count of first-degree murder, state police said in a statement.

The teenager had “the intent to kill or do great bodily harm” to Allen, who was stabbed “about the body with a knife, thereby causing” his death, according to a court filing by St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Derek Smith.

Doorbell camera video obtained by NBC affiliate KSDK of St. Louis showed a person whose face was partly covered looking into the camera and saying, “I have a gift for you.” Neighbors told the station they saw a person going door to door with a large knife Monday night.

The victim's family is going to be traumatized and I hope no kid goes trick or treating to their house as a clown.
