Suspect charged in kidnapping and murder of Shukur Aikebaer (60) in Chino Hills, CA

One of two brothers suspected in the kidnapping and killing of a 60-year-old man abducted last week at his Chino Hills home and shot in the trunk of a car at the end of a short pursuit was charged Monday by prosecutors in San Bernardino County.

Zhengfeng Bo, 67, and Jianquan Bo, 66, were identified as the suspected kidnappers in the abduction of Shukur Aikebaer, 60, Wednesday at his home in the San Bernardino County community.

Zhengfeng Bo was shot and killed by deputies after the chase.
Jianquan Bo was arrested and charged Monday with murder and a special circumstances allegation of murder committed during a kidnapping.

Investigators said the three men knew each other through a working relationship.

"This was a calculated act of violence," said San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus at a Monday news conference.

The friend of a man accused of kidnapping and killing a 60-year-old man as part of a possible business dispute said the suspect had previously asked him for resources to help with concerns about one of his investments.

According to Tony Lu, who was a friend of Zhengfeng, the man was a real estate investor from China. They were neighbors in Irvine and became friends afterward.

Two years before the violence that led to both Zhengfeng and Aikebaer’s deaths, Lu said Zhengfeng confided in him some concerns he had about one of his investments.
Lu said the alleged kidnapper asked him for resources to address concerns he had about a $20 million apartment complex in Pasadena.

Zhengfeng and the owners of the apartment complex were involved in two separate lawsuits, one of which was filed as recently as last Monday. Lu said his friend also expressed concerns about Aikebaer.

“He suspect he was involved in some of his investment,” Lu said. “He knew he try to use him to make some money.”

That doesn't clarify anything but it does give a motive.
