Police said Ozana Cisneros remains missing, while her mother, Maximina Cisneros, was found earlier Friday and taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

An FBI spokesperson said the agency is assisting SAPD at a location in the 200 block of Parkview Drive.

The search for Ozana is being conducted at the request of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, with assistance from the Texas
Ozana Cisneros was last seen around 6 p.m. June 10 in the 330 block of Roosevelt Avenue. She is about 2 feet tall, weighs about 20 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.

It was not immediately clear why authorities did not issue an Amber Alert when Ozana was first reported missing in June.

Authorities continued searching Saturday for a missing 7-month-old San Antonio girl after her mother was found alive but injured and skeletal remains were discovered at a nearby park.

The search for Ozana Cisneros returned to Concepcion Park on the city's South Side, where members of Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR), a nonprofit first responder organization, assisted law enforcement in combing the area.
The renewed search comes after San Antonio police discovered skeletal remains at Concepcion Park on Friday night. Investigators have not determined whether the remains are human or whether they are connected to the disappearance of Ozana.

"We understand the concern that the community has and a lot of questions that they have," San Antonio police Lt. David Bacarreza said. "However, at this time we don't have the answers, and we want to ensure that we're doing our due diligence and providing accurate and confirmed information before we release anything. Our hearts are with the family and with everyone involved in this situation."

Residents who live near the vacant home said the investigation has left them unsettled.

One neighbor, who asked not to be identified because of safety concerns, said he had frequently seen Maximina Cisneros walking through the neighborhood with Ozana and another man. However, he said he had not seen the baby for about three weeks.

"In the first days I saw her, but after that I don't know what happened because I no longer saw the baby, just them," the neighbor said.

He said the change caught his attention.

"I thought it was odd it was just them coming," he said.

Authorities also confirmed a connection between the Amber Alert investigation and an arrest made Friday morning, hours before Maximina Cisneros was found.

According to police, officers arrested 24-year-old Isaiah Marquis Lopez in connection with a June 9 shooting at the vacant Parkview Drive home. No one was injured in the shooting.

An arrest warrant states Lopez had been squatting at the property. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Investigators have confirmed Lopez is connected in some way to the Amber Alert investigation but have not disclosed the nature of that connection. He has not been charged in connection with Ozana's disappearance.

And he was arrested the day before the baby disappeared, in a shooting that no one was injured in?

I'm guessing this is the guy the neighbor saw with the mom?

    I am so confused....

On Tuesday morning, however, an employee of the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed to KSAT reporter Katrina Weber that the remains found July 10 were human.

During a second call Tuesday afternoon, a Medical Examiners employee refused to say whether the remains were human.

Seven-month-old Ozana Cisneros hasn’t been seen since June and the mystery behind her disappearance continues.

She and her mother, Maximina Cisneros, 19, were the subjects of an Amber Alert issued in mid-July.

Within days of the public appeal for information, officers located Maximina Cisneros at an abandoned home on E. Theo Avenue, which is not far from Probandt Street.

Investigators later announced they had found some sort of skeletal remains at Concepción Park as they searched the area for Ozana Cisneros.
At the time, police declined to comment on whether the remains might be those of a human or animal.

“I hate to say it, but I don’t think it looks very good. These remains being found, especially in the same area, I think it’s very concerning,” said Laura Montemayor, who lives near the park.

The remains found at a South Side park last month were identified as a 7-month-old girl who was the subject of an AMBER Alert, the San Antonio Police Department confirmed Tuesday.

The remains were identified as Ozana Cisneros, according to SAPD and the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office. Her cause and manner of death remain under investigation.

I don't understand why the mom hasn't been arrested. They may not be able to prove murder (yet) but at the very least abuse of a corpse, abandonment, etc.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of 7-month-old Ozana Cisneros, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police said Isaiah Marquis Lopez was taken into custody in connection with the infant's death. Authorities said charges are pending and declined to release additional details, citing the ongoing investigation.
The arrest comes weeks after the search for Ozana ended tragically.

The Texas Department of Public Safety issued an AMBER Alert on July 9 after Ozana and her 19-year-old mother, Maximina Cisneros, were reported missing.
