What led Jim Donnelly to disappear is as big a mystery to the people he left behind as it is to police.
He arrived at work at the Glenbrook Steel Mill after stopping on the way to work to buy a muffin for lunch and parked his vehicle in the staff car park as usual.
Jim was observed acting strangely during the day by several colleagues and then somehow vanished with no one seeing when he left or where he went.
He didn’t drive off as his car was found where he’d parked it.
Tracey says he was planning her upcoming birthday in the days prior and had given no indication he was planning to leave or take his own life.One of the most well known aspects of the case is that Jim’s work hardhat was found near an acid vat in the steel mill five days after he went missing.
Several items belonging to Jim were found inside the vat. Tracey says the acid vat and hardhat were in an area that Jim worked in.
“Someone wandering around with it could have had it in a bag,” she says of the hardhat.
“All I thought about was why would Jim put it there?
“My only other thought was it was taking the focus on searches away from another area that people wanted the focus taken away from. Maybe I’m over-thinking it.
“And it was only some of his stuff that was put in there [the acid vat]. That’s odd in itself.
“If you were disappearing why would you put your cash in there?”
Some of these disappearances where their car is not missing like this one, always makes me wonder if the person fell down somewhere and died immediately and no one saw the body cuz they either fell off a cliff, or fell into something that covered any evidence that a person was there. Like falling down a hill and then into a creek or river. Or falling into some huge opening that lead to a sewer.
Very strange. He either went into the vat or purposively put his items in there to make it seem as though he did.
It is so scary to me that there are missing persons who likely did just fall down somewhere without anyone noticing.

Details: At around 6:40PM on June 6, 1984, twelve year old Sherry Marler went with her stepfather Raymond to a bank in Greenville, Alabama. While there, he gave her a dollar to go to a gas station across the street and get a soda. She left the bank, went to the gas station, and was never seen again. When Raymond went to the station fifteen minutes later, she was not there and she was reported missing.
Since she vanished, there were three different sightings of Sherry; each time, she was seen with an unidentified man. One witness saw her at a truck stop in Georgia, while another saw her at a mall in New Orleans. Each time, she appeared upset, disheveled, and dazed. Her family believes that she was abducted, but her case remains unsolved.
Suspects: The man that was seen with Sherry after she vanished was described as fifty years old, 5'8" tall with a husky build. He had a weathered complexion, and crow's feet around his eyes. At the first sighting, Sherry called the man "B.J." He has never been identified.

And again, this is the kind of thing that really does me in. I can only hope that an appropriate end comes to the person(s) who abducted this little one. And y'all know what I mean when I say "appropriate."

I remember reading about his case. They found heroin in the truck they were driving in, which could mean the cartel did something to Juan after the accident.

The abduction of Martha Leanne Green:
Martha's twin brother, Lawson Green, picked up from her hostess job at the Holiday Inn on April 15, 1987. They were driving back to their family's residence in White Bluff, Tennessee in a Monte Carlo with tinted windows that Lawson had borrowed, when the vehicle ran out of gas on Highway 46 near Fabric Road in Dickson County, Tennessee at approximately 9:00 p.m.
This was about half a mile from the Holiday Inn. A photo of a similar car is posted with this case summary. A family of four pulled in behind them and offered to help. Martha said she was scared and Lawson said she should come with him and the family so they could get gas, but she said she'd stay behind.
Lawson left with the family to purchase fuel, leaving Martha alone in the car. He discovered she had vanished upon his return about ten to fifteen minutes later. Martha's handbag was still inside the vehicle, as were the keys. There was no sign of a struggle at the scene. She has never been seen again.
Authorities do not believe she ran away, as she was looking forward to attending the Dickson County High School prom the next day. She had picked out a pink prom dress and shoes, which were lying on her bed at home when she went missing.
Authorities had a suspect in Martha's disappearance, Robert McKinley Richards. A photo of him is posted with this case summary. After she disappeared, he was incarcerated in Florida for the rape of two women. During the autumn of 1987, Richards was questioned under hypnosis, and admitted to killing Martha. He knew she had been menstruating at the time of her disappearance, and also described a distinctive piece of jewelry she wore.
I have never heard of this one. He clearly murdered her...happy that he was murdered in prison.
That's so crazy...her apprehension to go with her brother with a strange family, resulted in her being murdered by some psycho. If only she had went with him....I get it if it were just her, but I would feel safer if my brother was there.
