    Gerrad Esnault (35) found safe - was missing since 6/21/2026 from Redding, CA

    The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help locating a 35-year-old man who disappeared while hiking west of Redding.

    Investigators said Gerrad Esnault was believed to be hiking in the area of Middletown Park Drive and the Swasey Park trail system on the evening of Sunday, June 21, and has not been heard from since.
    Esnault is described as a white man standing 6 feet tall and weighing about 155 pounds, with long brown hair.

    Authorities said he was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a tan or black hooded sweatshirt, and gray shorts. Esnault is a Redding resident, records show.

    Weird. His cousin posted him missing and updated he was found safe in her comments, but I can't find any news article that reports him found.

    On Sunday, June 21, 2026 Gerrad Esnault, 35, was reported missing after not returning from a hike near Middletown Park Drive and the Swasey Park trails. After a multiple day search for Esnault, he was found by community members in the Stoney Gulch Trail area in Western Shasta County.

    Esnault said he was hiking in the area when he became lost.

    SCSO officials say Esnault was evaluated by medical personnel for minor injuries and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
