It's almost as if the Sheriff is PURPOSEFULLY trying to make a fuck up of this case. I would start looking in to if they're covering for someone.

At the 100-day mark, the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie could hang on a strand of DNA that's still being evaluated by scientists at the FBI laboratory in Quantico, Virginia, in hopes of identifying her abductor.

The DNA recovered from Guthrie's home in Tucson, Arizona, was first sent by Pima County sheriff's detectives to a private laboratory in Florida for analysis.

Investigators have not publicly confirmed details about the sample or exactly where it was found.

I agree. The grandstanding from the sheriff hurt the case tremendously.

Everyone stop and take notice...a Kardashian is now weighing in.

Several high-profile celebrities have spoken out about Nancy Guthrie’s alleged kidnapping, including Khloé Kardashian.

On the May 13, 2026, episode of her Khloé in Wonderland podcast, the reality star sat down with true crime podcaster Ashley Flowers and dove dive into true crime topics, including Guthrie’s case.

“Nancy Guthrie, I mean, is that not heartbreaking?” Kardashian said. “I don’t know. I’m just like, this is 2026. There is nothing? Like, we don’t [know anything]? That is mind-blowing.”
After admitting she tends to think a bit more conspiratorially, Kardashian explained, “I don’t know if I know enough about this case, but all the things I was reading about the brother-in-law and that kind of stuff, I’m like, ‘Oof.’”

Kardashian also discussed the multiple ransom notes that were sent to “all the media outlets” early on in the investigation. “How weird was that?” Kardashian asked Flowers, who agreed it was strange.

She went on to suggest that police might even be withholding information. “It’s so much, and I just can’t understand that in 2026 there’s not—like you said—that’s what I don’t believe, that there’s not one piece of information. They’re not telling us.”

Savannah Guthrie opened up in a tearful conversation with Jenna Bush Hager on TODAY about how she has balanced her return to work with the daily anguish over the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

“It’s really hard to come back,” Savannah, who was guest co-hosting the fourth hour, tearfully told Jenna. “I’ve been trying so hard to hold it together, and I promise I will.”

She expressed her gratitude for all the support of her colleagues on TODAY and everyone behind the scenes.
“I’m happy to be back,” she said. “It’s like the two hours of my day — it’s not that I’m not thinking about it, because I am — but it’s something to do. It brings me a lot of joy to be with everybody. But no, it’s not easy.”

“I know maybe people wonder like, ‘What’s going on? How is she able to do that job? Is she not thinking about it, did she forget?’” Savannah continued. “No, never. Never.”

“We still need everybody’s prayers. We still wish somebody would call and say what they know,” Savannah said.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be around people and be distracted in a time of grief. You almost need to do that. Poor woman doesnt have answers but knows her mom has passsed.

A ransom note emailed to media outlets six days after Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance indicated that she had died, according to a report by the news website AirMail that NBC News confirmed.

After the second email was sent, on Feb. 6, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings posted a video a day later. Guthrie’s tone appeared to indicate the family had been told their mother had died.

“We received your message and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie said, alongside her brother, Camron, and sister, Annie. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we can have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

According to reporting, the second note indicated that Nancy Guthrie had died, did not apologize for taking Guthrie and did not request any money.

The first of the two publicly released emails sent by the apparent abductors had demanded a $4 million ransom in Bitcoin.

According to AirMail reporter Howard Blum, citing “sources close to the case,” the second email “opened with a sputtering and labored ‘apology’ for Guthrie’s inadvertent death.”

The email offered the possibility that Nancy Guthrie’s body could be delivered for a price, according to Blum’s reporting.

Blum’s sources said the second email was credible because it came from the same IP address as the first note and contained details such as what Nancy Guthrie was wearing the night she was taken.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office directed questions about the ransom notes to the FBI. The FBI has not responded to a request for comment.

Savannah Guthrie said in a March interview on "TODAY" that the two notes that the family responded to in social media videos were credible.

I don't know if I want these notes/messages to be real or not. If real then she's passed. If not real, then some douche nozzle bag of dicks is out there fiddlefarking with the family's emotions. Both are bad, not sure which is worse since neither leads us to her.

There is something else ... TMZ received close to a dozen emails from a man claiming he knew both the identity of the kidnappers and the location of Nancy.
The initial email he sent -- just days after the kidnapping -- said he would provide information in return for a single bitcoin, but "time is of the essence." He made it clear -- he was not a kidnapper.

The next day, he sent another email saying "time is no longer of the essence." Translation -- Nancy was no longer alive. The man continued to send emails, saying the kidnappers took Nancy to Mexico.

They have no clue what happened to her.

My mom was telling me now they think the SIL and daughter did it, because they were the last people to see her, noone say them drop her off etc. They said the porch guy was a red herring.

TMZ has received yet another email from the person claiming to know the identities of Nancy Guthrie's kidnappers, and this time he says he has video of the "main guy" and Nancy the day she died.

We have authenticated the new email is from the same person who sent us the previous ones. He references an old Bitcoin address, which matches, as does his alias in the email.

He seems to scoff at our report the FBI believes the person who wrote the email might be a woman. He goes on to say ... "I am not the idiot who recently called in a tip about her burial site in Mexico."

He claims there are 2 kidnappers -- he has said previously there was more than one.
Then he drops new claims. He says, "I have a phone stashed in a secure location guaranteeing both the information it stores and the safety of the phone."

He goes on to say, "What it contains is my definition of delivering them on a silver platter, a short video of the main guy with nancy the day that was probably her last, pictures of both involved, names and addresses and age."

He claims the phone is in a "location easy to access if you know where it is." He says he will ante up the password for one Bitcoin, and gives a new Bitcoin address.

We have posted our reaction to his demand, which is to say he should send us one screengrab of Nancy to authenticate his claim. We have forwarded the email to the FBI.

Idiot. You arent getting a red cent. You have ALL of that information, but wont give any information unless you get that bitcoin. They are not going to pay you.

He would have to be involved to have all of that info.

Plus wouldnt the kidnappers cap your ass if you had all of that evidence and were going to hand it over to the feds?

Three ransom notes linked to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, including one claiming she died after being abducted, have been deemed fake, an FBI official reportedly said.

In June, multiple news outlets reported that one of the notes claimed Guthrie died shortly after being abducted.
A second note demanded millions in bitcoin for her release, and a third claimed to identify the kidnappers.

"None of the ransom notes are believed to be genuine," an FBI official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss details of an active investigation.

Details of the first ransom note in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance have emerged, with the sender reportedly warning Savannah Guthrie that her mother’s life “is in your hands.”

Crime journalist Briana Whitney joined Ashley Flowers on the Crime Junkie podcast, where she revealed what the first ransom note said.

Whitney read aloud from the note: "Hello, Savannah. We have your mother, Nancy. She is safe but scared. She will be held for ransom, and once payment is received, she will be released unharmed. We will be holding her for a maximum of seven days."

Whitney said the note went on to demand the millions of dollars stated in U.S. currency and provided two deadlines.

“Once payment is received to the Bitcoin address below, she will be released within 12 hours of deposit to a safe drop off location back in Tucson,” Whitney continued, reading aloud.
“If the payment is not received by the last deadline on Monday the 9th at 5 p.m., she will be killed. Your mother is aware of this and her life is in your hands. It is in the best interest of everyone to have this completed as soon as possible. You will not be able to contact me from here on out. There will be no negotiation. Do not play games. Law enforcement will not be able to help you,” Whitney read.

At the end of the note, the sender included additional details about Nancy’s home, Whitney said.

"They said she had a white smartwatch that was on the floor near her bed, like at the foot of her bed, and that there was a floodlight in the backyard that had been destroyed," she said.

Whitney's reporting on the note comes after a June 22 NBC News report revealed that the second ransom note sent to the Guthrie family and various media outlets claimed that Nancy, 84, was dead.

While the note indicated that she had died, it didn’t contain an apology or a request for payment for the release of her body, per NBC News.

Two men detained early in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping investigation are collectively seeking millions of dollars from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, claiming they were unlawfully arrested at gunpoint and held for hours.

The notice of claim, which is the precursor to a potential lawsuit, was filed Monday in Pima County.

Lawyers for Carlos Alfredo Palazuelos, Daniel Maddox and Maddox’s mother Josefina Maddox say police arrested Palazuelos at gunpoint and wrongfully identified him as a "person of interest" in the kidnapping only to let him go hours later.
The claim also states that men in military gear pointed guns at Daniel Maddox and made him lie on the floor of his home, handcuffed him, then held him outside under a guard for several hours while they allegedly ransacked his mother’s home.

Lawyers say investigators caused significant damage when they searched the home.

In the notice, attorneys said they’re willing to settle Palazuelos’ claim for $2.5 million, Daniel Maddox’s claim for $500,000 and Josephina Maddox’s claim for $250,000.

The lawyer for a man detained in the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie is demanding to see the sealed evidence that led investigators to search his family’s home and hold him for hours without being charged.

Carlos Palazuelos, 36, was detained by Pima County Sheriff's deputies in February as authorities investigated the disappearance of Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today co-host Savannah Guthrie.

He was released after around eight hours without charge. Six months later, the circumstances that led investigators to delivery driver Palazuelos remain unclear.
His attorney, Jesse Showalter, told Newsweek that is precisely the problem.

“I want to see the search warrant affidavit that was used in order to obtain the search warrant that led to the arrest and the search of his family home,” Showalter told Newsweek. “I want to read how it came to pass that they went after Carlos, what their purported evidence was and what they told the judge in order to get that search warrant.”

Showalter added that months later, the search warrant remains "under seal."

“Whatever evidence supposedly existed, for the arrest and for the search is secret," he said. Showalter added that he does not yet know whether the evidence behind the warrant will become public.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department just released a statement about remains found near Tucson, Ariz.

On Monday, Aug. 17, the department, led by Sheriff Chris Nanos, shared an update via X.
“PCSD Search & Rescue deputies are responding to reports of human remains found in a desert area near West Ajo Way and South La Cholla Boulevard,” the message revealed. “The remains appear to have been at the location for an extended period of time. At this time, there is no indication they are connected to the Nancy Guthrie investigation.”

The PCSD also promised, “Additional information will be released as it becomes available.”
