So, it's all over the news now and people are thinking this is the next COVID. I don't think it's that serious as they've caught the people infected early enough and they've been moving through the timeline, who they came in to contact with and are isolating them. We have two Irish citizens that were on the ship and they brought them home, but are keeping them in quarantine.

The U.S. isn't quarantining anyone and the EU is concerned about it. I mean, WHY wouldn't you keep them quarantined until it's satisfied that they don't have it and won't spread it? DO THEY WANT ANOTHER LOCKDOWN?! This is YET AGAIN another fuck up by Trump and when it spreads all over the place, he will blame someone else for it when he could have stopped the spread.

The media is getting the feels and are just aching to make this another pandemic. I think our government (in its current state) will try anything to detract from what is happening in Iran right now, so I would not be shocked if they go along with it and try to make it the next pandemic.

So when I was in school we had to learn about zoonotic diseases. This was 13 years ago, but the strain we studied was the one that was spread from mouse feces to the host. We didnt learn anything about a strain going from person to person. Do we not know enough about this strain to treat it? Weird thing is, its similiar to Covid in relation to causing respiratory failure.

We will see a lot more deaths.

The ship departed Argentina on its current voyage April 1. Three people have died.

Fifteen American citizens and one British national have been taken to a quarantine facility in Nebraska, where they will be assessed for symptoms and exposure risk.

Two people have been transported to Emory University's Serious Communicable Diseases Unit in Atlanta.

Additionally, several dozen people disembarked the ship on St. Helena on April 24. These passengers include seven Americans, who are now being monitored across five states.
