I'm Glad You're Dead

We've all had people we knew pass away: classmates, friends, family, pets, etc.

For the most part, we either mourn or feel apathy for those who have passed away, but I'm sure we all know one or two whose death we are glad for.

Tell me about it.

For me, I'm glad my father-in-law is dead.I remember him telling me before he was diagnosed with cancer something along the lines of, "I'll miss him when he's gone." I don't miss him. He was a typical Republican who hated gays, minorities, and voted for Trump. I'm sure if he was alive now, we'd have rows about our opposing viewpoints on Trump.

The stalker I had in high school. I was terrified of this guy. He used to follow me places with his friends and yell crude things to me. I had to call the cops a couple of times. He died from kidney disease and lymphoma according to his obituary at the age of 24. I was happy when I saw his obituary.

I had a guy, that was really short bc of a bone issue, made my life as a grade schooler hell. He would say how ugly I was and he even physically assaulted me. We would use real hockey sticks and hit a carpet ball in gym. He smashed my hands so hard my rings broke. I tried to tell people but noone but my sister believed me, bc he was short because of his bone issue. He chased her around with a broom and hit her.
When we were about 23, he came to my boyfriends house for a party, he didnt recognize me. I called him out, said I thought I was ugly, gross, and stupid as a kid. He said he didnt remeber it, and he liked me. Bullshit. Couldnt even apologize.

I feel terrible for saying this, but I saw he died from bone cancer, and didnt feel sad or bad for him. I feel bad that he suffered, and it could have been a kid thing but we were in 5/6th grade so he knew what he was doing. He would make fun of my hair, say I had dandruff that was really lice because I was so dirty. I could go on.

He never married. He may have changed, but I doubt it.

Im sure I bullied people in high school that feel the same about me.

This is a great question! I'll have to think about it because nobody in my personal life is coming to mind. PLENTY of Politicians and other terrible people do though

This is a great thread! I will have to think about it some more because I can't think of anyone. So either I was never close enough to any assholes, or the assholes are still alive (figures).

A lot of the bad people that show up on the ME Site that I recognize their names, I would not say I am glad to hear some of them died but my attitude is more of "I could care less if they lived or died". I got some relatives too that were horrible people and I feel same way. Dont care at all that they died.

I can totally get not being sad when a miserable person dies. What I don't get, is making a terrible person look great just BECAUSE they died.

I read something once that said "Noone can believe Lacy Peterson was murdered because she had such beautiful teeth" *eye roll* so people with bad teeth deserve to get murdered?

Agreed. If the only bright spot in a persons life is the fact that they died then I wish the obits would speak clearly:

Mr BagO'Dicks was not beloved and his family invites every/anyone to dance on his grave which will be shaped like a urinal so you can piss on it. Mr BagO'Dicks was indeed a terrible person and will be forever remembered as the pitiful excuse of a human that he was. There will be an open bar and celebration of his death alongside the urinal stone he forever lies under.
