I wanted to thank you ladies for starting this site. I appreciate the work you did to find out what happened. I was one of Melody's many friends in college and I loved her. After she married Barry (whom I also knew), I don't know what became of them. I knew she was going to law school and he to medical school and I went to work. Years later, I ended up in Denton County, though not in Denton proper, but it's nearby. Two or three times over the years, I sought to look her up, usually going by "Mills", my mistake.

I only learned of her death on another site and had a ton of questions about how this could be and was surprised to find that not only had she been divored all those years, but she lived 10 miles from me....literally. And I never knew. Anyway, being able to read your research and piece together what has happened has helped me.

I even drove to her house yesterday and sat outside and told her goodbye. Apparently she was cremated, so there is no grave to visit. I just wish I knew what happened to her world to make her do such a thing. You should have seen her when she was 18! Or even 22.....she was something else.......And I hope to see that beautiful smile again some day.

I am so very sorry for your loss. It is clear how much Melody meant to you and how her memory has stayed with you all these years. There is a specific kind of heartache in realizing a dear friend was so close physically, yet out of reach, but driving to her home to say goodbye is a beautiful, deeply personal way to honor that connection.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's clear she made a huge impact on your life, for you to be finding this site after all those years.
