I am going to murder my washer and dryer. They are LG and newer. I started a wash load at 7 and it got done at 9:30. Then my dryer will only dry so much so I have cut the load in half and dry it.
Doing laundry is an hours long process, and if I have multiple loads, that shit lasts all day.
You need to clean out the lint tube up to the roof. I have a one year old LG dryer that was taking FOREVER (like 3+ cycles) to dry and I thought it was the eco features on the dryer and was ready to get rid of it. I clean my lint tray religiously, always have, so I thought it couldn't be that. Plus I live in a newer house so I though it was all good.
I decided to try cleaning the lint vent and we cleaned with the brush (the one you put into the lint collection area and push it out the back of the dryer) and also disconnected the dryer and cleaned as far as the small hose would reach (about 4 ft). That helped, but not much so I bought a 30 ft kit that can also hook to a drill https://www.walmart.com/ip/DRYVENCK-...0&from=/search.
Hubby got up on the roof and cleaned downwards and then put it in the vent from inside the house and cleaned upwards and you wouldn't believe how much lint came out of there. With your house being an older house I can guarantee you that your vent is crammed with lint. I was absolutely shocked at how much was in mine after this short of a period of time and with how religious I am about cleaning out the lint catch at least once per load. I can now dry a monster load in less than an hour. I was shocked at what a difference it made!
Also, all that lint can catch on fire if you leave it, so that's another issue.
Not sure about your washer-my LG will wash a large load on normal cycle in about 40 minutes.
I knew it was a thing, but I too thought that since I am so cautious about always cleaning the trap in the dryer out that it would be ok. Plus our house is one story and only a few years old so I thought we were good.
The further the air has to travel (two story vs one story) the worse it can apparently get too.Not sure if your laundry is on first, second or basement floor but your issue may be really magnified by how long your vent to the roof is from your dryer.
Let me know how much you get out once you clean it, and how much quicker it dries afterwards. We literally just did it a couple of weeks ago, so I am curious to see if my bill drops when I get the next one.
My wife and I help a physician that I work with while he recovers from hip replacement surgery. I cleaned out his lint filter and it weighed almost 3 pounds. Safe to say it hasn't been cleaned in probably 20 years. He's lucky it's never started a fire.
Don't like what I have to say? I respect that. Go fuck yourself.
We had a burnt lint episode once. Scared me to death, so now we clean our entire vent/tubes yearly. We're due to do it as soon as the weather plays nicer with us. I'm very strict on lint trap cleaning but a lot still gets stuck in there anyway.
Ang, I'd do a google search and see if anyone else has had that issue. I know I was using too much soap and it was causing ours to go longer because the washer sense the soap and kept rinsing over and over.

Pissed me the hell off!

MY DTTAM: Nee doh is the bane of my existence.
I have 2 easters where I am in charge of the kids games, 14 kids one party and 8 the other. I also have to clean my moms house.
Tim got raw sushi last night, and I got cooked sushi (I dont eat raw) and he got food poisoning. I was up with him until about 3ish because he wanted to go to the ER and I told him he just had food poisoning. I gave him meds and he passed out around 3ish. I forgot to turn my alarm off for school (Austins off today) and it woke me up at 6. I am dragging ass.
There is a cat really sick at the shelter. Im not a Vet but she is cachectic. I will say more in speak here.
OK so, my yard has weeds. My lawn is not small. I spent about 2 hours with the weed killer, spraying every. single. weed. down to the root. Some weeds didnt die after 24 hours, so I sprayed those again.
I wait 2 days, then I mow yesterday. The same weeds I sprayed, popped back up![]()
Last year I resorted to round up, it worked, but killed the grass too.
This year's weather is a big old bag of sweaty dicks.
