There is also a space next to the dishwasher, almost like they cut it oo big and the dishwasher was smaller than they thought - you can see inside and it looks yucky. My hubby said he would look into doing something with those, but I had my kitchen done over 2 years ago, yet here we still are
Can you find a small spot (like a window sill area or something like that) that isn't visible where you could chip a piece of the wall off and take it to Home Depot or Lowes and have it color matched? Then you can paint the chip spot and repair it (put a little wood filler or putty on it and let it dry and then paint it) and also pain the spot on the wall that bothers you.

As far as the space next to the dishwasher, you can use a piece of cabinet trim called a filler. Do you know your brand of cabinets? If so, then it's super easy. If you don't you may have to either match paint and paint a piece or try to find the closest cabinet color you can and use that. Most cabinets come in pretty uniform colors. Get your husband to cut the filler to size and then you use it to fill the space and make it look like it is custom for your space.

Wish I were local...I would come do it for you.

I wish you were, too! I would take you up on that offer...

No idea about my cabinets. They are the old ones and I just had them refaced. I have a feeling the color I picked out would be hard to match, as it is a dark gray but looks like it's wood (but not). Hard to explain...I could always call and ask them how much they would charge to do it, I suppose. Every time I bring up one of the problems, my husband says "i'm working on it" but it never happens. He frustrates me lol.

Do you have the paperwork for when you re-did the kitchen? They should put the name of the color and type of cabinets they did the re-facing with on the paperwork. If they did then you should be able to find the cabinets online and potentially order what you need to fill the gap. The only issue is that sometimes they discontinue certain lines and then it become harder. I ran into that when I tried to match my new coffee bar cabinets to the original cabinets that were put in the house in 2018.

I might have it somewhere. If not, I am sure I can email or call them, it was only done 2023 so not like it was years ago...

I would honestly try that first. See if you can get the actual name of the cabinet line and color and then see if you can find a filler piece online yourself. If not, I would ask them how much they would charge to do it.

My countertop guys are coming back out today. Lets hope they get it right this time.

I totally forgot about posting a pic of the "art" I have above my couch. I am hoping to get a longer one for christmas that will fit better, and I will put the one I have there now, to the right above the shorter side of the couch...ignore that it is crooked, I took the picture quick lol.

I like the design, but I agree that a larger one would look more balanced over the couch. I know you're like me and don't like to put too much on the walls, but I think the two would look really nice on the opposite walls!

We got the countertops installed and they are amazing! We like this slab so much better than the original, so I guess it was meant to be.

Thanks! I would have bought a larger one myself, but it was like $100 and I refuse to spend that much on something like that (I could get a cheap one, but I like the heavy duty look of wrought iron). So I just asked my dad to get it for me for Christmas ha.

I am so glad your countertops worked out! Please post pics when you get a chance, would love to see them!

Yes, you definitely need something larger. I do like the design.

I may take those plants down in the corner, I feel like if I have 1 thing on that wall, and another on the wall to the right, those plants will be just too much. I already tried taking them down, and I wasn't sure how I felt about it. It looked too empty, but maybe that will change with the stuff on the other wall.

I'm probably overthinking all this haha.

Okay, I must admit (but did not want to say anything) that the plants kind of look odd, so hearing you might take them down is good. Sorry...I hope that doesn't come across rude.

LOL it's not rude at all. I only had them up because it just looked so empty, before I had anything on the wall. I just have to figure out what to do with them, and how to cover the holes (ugh, another reason I hate hanging stuff).

Spackle and paint need to be your friend. Or just a drywall patch kit.

Not really my expertise. My hubby can do that, it's just a matter of how long it will be once I take them down and he does it. Shortly after we first moved into our house, him and my son were bringing a couch in and they hit the wall leaving a hole. It took 6 years for him to finally patch it. So annoying.....I ended up buying a vase with decorative flowers/leaves in it, and I put it in front of the hole. It was there for a looooooong time lol.

I'm sitting here watching Nic, an obvious minimalist and me as an outrageous maximalist, and just wondering why the plants have to go

My only gripe with them is that they're obviously fake and they should be real. And you should add two others on the other side to balance it out. And fairy lights. just really small ones on the wire across the expanse where you can hide the wires. lol.

I have to do fake plants as I can't keep anything alive ha. I came across this cute plant stand I got for free, and I put it outside in my backyard. I needed a plant to sit on top of it, so I got a fake succulent - even if it's outside it's fake lol.

Edit: I went with them to add a pop of color to my living room, everything is basically gray (it's my go-to color) so I was trying to "liven" it up a bit. I am going to take them down once I get the other wall decor. It actually makes my living room look bigger without them there.

All indoor planta die on me.

We need a cleaning thread. I have granite counter tops in my kitchen, and no matter what I clean them with, they look like shit. Ive used soap and water, dawn power spray, mr clean, chlorox wipes, and they either have smudges or a white residue. I cant make them look clean and its driving me nuts!

We use a granite countertop cleaner, as anything else typically makes them have a film/look murky: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Weiman-Prod...gaAs-KEALw_wcB

For tough stains we use Mr. Clean magic erasers: https://www.amazon.com/Clean-Eraser-...5802183&sr=8-6

    Thanks! just now saw this.

So....I have a huge bookshelf with my moms outdated stuff. I was going to go minimalist and only put 1 or 2 things on each shelf.

I was thinking metal and geode objects.
