An Irish fashion designer was found dead on a boat moored at an upscale marina in Montauk, New York.

Martha Nolan-O'Slatarra, 33, was discovered unconscious onboard a docked yacht at Montauk Yacht Club around midnight on Tuesday.

East Hampton Town Police responded to a 911 call from a man reporting an unconscious woman on a yacht, measuring between 50 and 60 feet, docked at the Montauk Yacht Club. The club is located on Star Island Road near the far eastern tip of Long Island, and the call came in around midnight on Tuesday. Bystanders attempted to perform CPR on Ms Nolan-O'Slatarra but she was pronounced dead at the scene by First Responders.

According to police, the initial investigation and post-mortem exam did not conclusively determine the cause of death. The final determination will now be made by an autopsy conducted by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office.
Ms Nolan-O'Slatarra, known professionally and socially as Martha Nolan, was a marketing consultant, entrepreneur, and founder of the resortwear fashion brand East X East.

People like to party on yachts. I wonder if it was drug related.

I guess it could have also been heat related as well.

During the course of what proved to be the last phone call she would make, Martha, 33, assured her boyfriend she was about to head home.

But within minutes, she was found unconscious and later declared dead by medics who responded to a 911 call.

The source told Extra: ‘Martha and her boyfriend went to Ireland at Christmas. He met her family and getting married would have been the next step.

‘It was just her and the boat owner on the boat. She phoned her boyfriend and she told him she was just about to be picked up by an Uber.

There is such a short timeline between when she made the call and when the 911 call was made.’

Nolan's cause of death is believed to be a suspected drug overdose, though it hasn't been officially determined, according to the New York Post.

It comes as new details emerged about Nolan's recent divorce and a lawsuit that accused her of taking $34,000 from her previous company's bank account.

Detectives are investigating claims that Irish woman Martha Nolan O’Slatarra found dead on a yacht in New York had been battling brain cancer, as her family vehemently denies the suggestion.

In the days following her death, detectives reportedly contacted Ms. Nolan-O’Slatarra’s mother, Elma, to inquire about claims that her daughter had been suffering from brain cancer.

However, Elma, who was in regular contact with her daughter, was shocked by the suggestion and told investigators that Martha was 'perfectly healthy.'
“She told them there was nothing of the sort [affecting her],” a source close to the family revealed.

A preliminary post-mortem examination conducted by US authorities found no evidence of violence or trauma, and the cause of death remains undetermined pending further toxicological and histological testing.

Officials have informed the family that the final autopsy report could take up to three months to complete.

The fact that they are not saying ANYTHING about the "boat owner" has me convinced that he drugged her to keep her there/rape her and he's someone ultra rich so they're covering for him. HOW is it that they aren't saying one thing about the person that was literally with her when she died? This is some asshole that has lots of money and is buying silence from authorities. I would bet my life on it.

I just watched a YouTube video on this case that included some new info. First of all, the owner of the boat was definitely not her boyfriend and was in his 60s, however was running around naked yelling that "My Girlfriend is Dead!!!!" according to witnesses. He was the owner of the boat called "The Ripple" and it wasn't a huge yacht like you might imagine, it was about 50 feet. He is still not being named (convenient) and reportedly contributed 200K toward her East X East clothing company. There was also what looks like a load of cocaine found on one of the seats and a table on the boat.

The family claim that she never did drugs, but she's been in NYC for six years now in an industry that is rife with drugs so... Yeah. She likely got in to it at some point. Coke is rampant even in Ireland (honestly it's everywhere, I could find a baggie in my little village easier than Dill Pickles). I wouldn't be surprised if she were already doing the shit before she even moved to the U.S.

New theory: he was her Sugar Daddy, Boyfriend knew about him and didn't have an issue with it because $$$$, they picked up some coke laced with fentanyl and boom. She's dead.

ETA to add photo of "white powder substance" on boat:

They've named the owner of the boat who was last with her and running around naked that night. He has a unique history...

The owner of the boat where Carlow bikini designer Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra died was previously sued for allegedly biting a retired New York firefighter at a tribute concert on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 in Manhattan.

Businessman Christopher Durnan (60), who reportedly invested more than $200,000 in Ms Nolan-O’Slatarra East x East bikini boutique, owned the yacht where the 33-year-old Irishwoman was found in the upmarket area of Montauk in the Hamptons, New York, on Tuesday last week.

Former firefighter Michael Balfe, who was a Ground Zero first responder, claimed in a civil suit that Durnan attacked him during a tribute concert at Webster Hall in Manhattan’s East Village on September 11, 2021.

It was alleged in the civil suit that Durnan “bit and assaulted” the firefighter in a unprovoked attack, the New York Post reported.

If they were romantically involved, she clearly was in it for what he provided her.

I'm now hearing that the white powdery substance was finger print dusting. Hmmm.....I always thought that they used black dust for that. The source is a guy on the Nancy Grace YouTube channel.

Since it is Nancy Grace, it must be true.

He looks like a guy that would assault someone unprovoked.

Just kidding, no idea what that person would look like. But I can see him getting all coked out and going crazy.

The family of a fashion designer mysteriously found dead in a swanky Montauk yacht club plans to file a bombshell lawsuit.

The $50 million wrongful death suit by Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra’s family will be filed in Manhattan civil court, a filing Tuesday revealed — just one day before the anniversary of when the designer died on a boat docked in the club.

The family accuses the boat’s owner Christopher Durnan — an insurance mogul who invested in Nolan-O’Slatarra swimwear fashion company East x East — of causing her death through assault, negligence and gross negligence.
The court filing effectively announcing the lawsuit doesn’t detail specific accusations against Durnan, but contends in legalese that he “intentionally and wrongfully assaulted” Nolan-O’Slatarra.

Police originally said they believed that Nolan-O’Slatarra died of an accidental drug overdose, but sources close to the family confirmed an independent autopsy found she only had “trace amounts of cocaine” in her system.

Instead, the independent autopsy found some form of assault led to Nolan-O’Slatarra’s death, sources said.
