Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
QUOTE]
Anytime you see this that means Excel (in addition to Word, PP, and possibly Access which is a database), which is code for them saying you're going to be doing some light bookkeeping duties.
It's on them though if they looked at your resume and saw you didn't have it and still scheduled an interview with you.
ETA: I messed up my quote and can't get it fixed and at this point I don't care.
Thats shitty CC, I worked for a real estate company for my first job ever. I had to do excel and invoices. I noped out after a week. I can do excel and word, but Im just not good with the in depth tech stuff. So I feel ya.
I know how to use Microsoft Office Suite. I'm pretty sure I can handle billing and invoicing if I have some training on whatever software they use. I didn't like that the interviewer seemed rushed and dismissive. I'm glad I didn't have to sit in his office for too long.
Right?!?
I mean, I didn't get in depth with my ad mostly because I didn't require people to really know ANYTHING, as long as they had the willingness to learn. If you have that, why wouldn't they hire you?? I feel like people miss out on good workers just because they don't have the "knowledge" of something specific. Everyone has to start somewhere.
I'm on team dodged a bullet. Sometimes you just know it won't be an organized place to work. Keep trying, you'll find the perfect fit!

I just don't get when you get a stack of papers and are told to scan and save each one, I check and some never got scanned and saved...
CC: I would totally hire you if you lived here! I have to admit, I never put really anything specific in my ad - but the position is LIGHT accounting and by that, I mean mostly data entry. The only thing someone needs to learn are correct tax codes and that's something hardly anyone knows about. So, in the interviews I would ask if they had experience but say it's not necessary, just wanted to know what their knowledge is. I am totally fine hiring someone who hasn't done any of that as long as they are eager to learn, and can listen to instructions. I feel like those are the most important qualities in an employee.
I wish, but unless my manager quits, I'm stuck on night shift.
Don't hire people off Craigslist! That's where the weirdos hang out. My husband and I rented a room off of Craigslist when we first moved down south. Big mistake! Our roommate got progressively crazier the longer we lived there.
When I first got my current job, I had never worked in the industry before. I learned the computer program in two weeks and I was on my own. Whereas, this woman who started working there before me, quit, and got rehired, she never learned the computer program. She finally got fired after management found out she was leaving early and not clocking out, letting people go into off limit areas, etc.
My husband has a man cold. I have been waiting on him hand and foot.
The DAY I got my mouth surgery, I was doing laundry, dishes and getting my own shit. So I think Im going to do the bare minimum.
Ok his man cold turned into something serious-hes at priority care now. I feel bad.
Hope he's ok Angie!
That's the bottom number of 'normal'. Anything below that is bad. Source, I used to work for a respiratory therapist place for a couple of years and had to submit all the stuff showing they qualified for oxygen to the insurance in addition to doing the billing.
Hopefully he feels better soon!
