About a week ago I was surrounded by three cars and three people got out and surrounded me outside of my work. One of them asked me if I remembered him. I said "no sir" and he said I'm detective Ortiz and I said oh.... You look a different. Then he said well we have a warrant for your arrest I said "for what".... to which he replied "for trespassing". On the car ride over I wondered why they would send three detectives to pick me up for "trespassing"...and thought of course it could not be for that and just the fact that he didn't want to talk about anything with me meant he wanted to get whatever we did talk about recorded.
When we got downtown he basically re-asked me all of the questions that I was asked the first time by the original detective as if anything I was going to say was going to change.
There were a couple things that were pretty strange to me.... like when he asked me how long I thought it took me to get to my grandmother's house after the funeral. My response was I don't know 40 minutes 30 or 40 minutes. He looked at me as if that was the wrong answer.
I thought who gives a f*** I could literally tell you whatever I want and it wouldn't make a difference because I didn't f****** take her.
In fact all of his questions seemed really stupid to me and when I mentioned to him that I own my own land now he didn't even bat an eye... didn't ask me where it was ...didn't really ask me any questions that would hint of any search for any new information.
He asked if I had been to the funeral home since after the funeral.... I told him that yeah I drove by a couple of times....probably a year ago.
He asked if I ever received the trespass warning... to which I replied I haven't.
We talked about this forum for a little bit. I mentioned to him that it seemed like one of my very few options back then for getting the truth out and poking any bears out there without getting in the way.
I told him how I thought that everything I said on here may have very well led the Motts to the point that they're at so much faster... He said ...."well you may have just very well added fuel to the fire"... I laughed and said. ..yeah probably.
Then he asked me what if I told you that we found something that may have belonged to her and it had your DNA on it.
I told him "well it wouldn't really be a concern to me.... we dated for a while... I still have a few belongings of hers. ...I'm not really sure what you're asking me.
He then asked me if I would be willing to submit a sample of my DNA and I said yes of course I would and within a couple of minutes there was a CSI detective in the room swabbing my mouth for a DNA sample.
...and that was it.
Before I left the room I asked him about the money situation that might be entailed if the family were to have to pay extra for a viewing on top of a cremation ....I mentioned that it didn't make sense to have a viewing and a cremation when I know what budget was available to the family. He then said well we're still exploring all options but at least now we have leverage.....whatever that means.
The last docket notes that were posted were a motion for leave to designate a responsible third-party. The next court date doesn't look like it's set until October of 2017. That's really strange considering how every other court date seem to be posted for weekly intervals so... I really have no idea what's going on. I'm not really concerned about it anymore.
I've come to terms with the fact that knowing the answer to what happened won't make any difference at all whatsoever.
So you're saying you were never at the funeral home in June? Don't they have surveillance now? They seem pretty sure of the dates you were there.

Bill, you were obviously back at the funeral home a couple of times and they say they have surveillance video. Did you go during open hours? Or at night? Why did you go back there?
On a side note, did they go out and get cameras after the fiasco? Because last I knew they didn't have any.

Being a funeral director is a noble profession. They help families during some of the hardest times of their lives. I'd say the type of person to "work in a place like that" is a decent, caring, and strong person.
There is nothing wrong with working at a funeral home. I couldn't do it personally, but someone has to. Gotta give props to the people who do that, it can't be easy to be around deceased people.

Doubtful he will answer, as he is claiming he was never even there.
My guess is to bother the people who work there, which is why they banned him from coming back in the first place. They put up security cameras after they said he was not permitted on the property....which tells me they were pretty sure he would return anyway. Which he did.
