I have missed this cast of characters! Absolutely the most interesting group. From the defense witnesses who had me in stitches for weeks to the pathetic lying JA who filibustered for some 20 days or so talking about pop rocks, Toberlone, kiddie porn, anal sex and silent sex on the porch with some facial jizz. Being wrapped up by the incompreble JM who had us cheering from our living rooms in standing ovations. Just wish we could get our daily fix with the live cameras.

WHO ARE THE JURORS DECIDING THE FATE OF ‪#‎JODIARIAS‬

As the now 18 (this was before one was dismissed earlier today) jurors filed into the jury box from a private room off to the side of the courtroom, I was standing on tip toes and craning my neck to see who made the cut. I don't know their names but here is what I learned from them during the selection process:

? There are 6 men and 12 women (before a woman was dismissed on Wednesday).

? The super majority of the jurors appear young and in their 40s or under.

? All appear Caucasian or Hispanic.

? Only two of the 18 (again, this was before one was dismissed on Wednesday) made comments during the large group questioning although the majority spoke during small group questioning.

? There are five jurors that made no comments and were not brought in for small group or individual questioning.

? One female, who appears to be in her 30s, has a B.S. in psychology and favors the death penalty but not in all circumstances. She leans more towards being neutral and would need to take it on a case-by-case basis. She believes the death penalty exists for a reason and that she could be fair.

? One female, who appears to be in her 40s, said she has no opinion about Arias, can form her own opinion in regards to what mental health professionals would say, dates an attorney and that integrity is a big issue with her.

? One female stated she didn't have an opinion on psychologists and assumes they are capable if they are testifying.

? One male, who appears to be in his late 20s or early 30s, explained he had no decision on what was appropriate at this time in regards to a punishment for Arias.

? One female juror, who appears to be in her early 30s, said she believes in the death penalty and the concept of "an eye for an eye" but that it is all about the circumstances.

? One female juror, who appears to be in her early 30s, smiled a lot when answering basic questions.

? One female juror stated she would be OK with a life sentence.

? One female juror admitted she saw coverage of the first trial "like everybody else" but she didn't follow it closely, she is a kindergarten teacher and barely knows how to use the Internet.

? One female juror, who appears to be in her 30s, is a trauma nurse who deals with serious injuries and will not be offended by graphic pictures, and whose mother is in the psychology field.

? A male, who appears to be in his 30s, stated "death penalty is there for a reason."

? Another male, who appears to be in his 30s, would want to know if a person is remorseful, he is capable of giving the death penalty and is more likely to sentence someone to death if they are not remorseful.

So what does this all mean for Arias? The younger women may identify with Arias and her claims of abuse at the hands of her family and at the hands of Travis Alexander. Or they could believe that she went far beyond the bounds of reason.

The men may secretly like her and how she was before the murder, or they may think she deserves to die.

I could hypothesize more, but at the end of the day, only time and the verdict will tell.

One juror is running late for court.

Juan is still up for the state. He calls Dr. Horn. They start going through the very graphic photos of Travis' body. Twitter accounts say the family is staring down the whole time. "I'm convinced that the gunshot wound was last," Horn said. (I heard Jodi's little brother starred at the pictures the whole time. Jodi's other family members looked straight ahead)

Juan is finished and Palin is up.
Twitter folks say she is bad. Very bad. She basically had everybody confused about her questions on bullet paths, and autopsies. They say she is very condescending.

Question: The juror wanted to know if the time/sequence of injuries were detailed in the autopsy report."I don't specifically address those in my report," Horn answered.

Other questions were about injuries Alexander sustained and if they would have been fatal.

He said the injuries would not have been immediately fatal. The cut to the throat would have allowed a few seconds of consciousness.

Twitter was explaining how Juan jumped at Dr. Horn when Juan comes back up and Juan starts going through the motions of stabbing someone. Juan wanted to know how easy it would be to stab someone and Dr. Horn basically shrugs and says "I don't stab people" and Palin is on her feet objecting like crazy.

Horn steps down and the court takes (looks like almost an hour) long recess.

Juror #9 is dismissed after asking TV commentator Beth Karas if she was Nancy Grace. Remaining jurors left- 11 women, 6 men.

Martinez has called Nathan Mendes to the stand. Mendes is a Special Agent with the U.S. Dept of the Interior, who was a Siskiyou County Sheriff's Detective when Arias was arrested. Mendes conducted the July 2008 search of Arias' grandparents' home in Yreka, California, where Arias was living at the time of Alexander's death.

Jodi was loading stuff into her car on the morning the police went to arrest her. Mendes said there was a suitcase in the trunk of the car. Asked by Martinez if it contained "birth control items," Mendes answered yes. Juan also shows a picture of Jodi's trunk with a condom clearly visible in the picture.

His answer prompted an immediate objection by Nurmi. The attorneys are now at a sidebar with the judge.

Martinez just showed Arias' infamous smiling mug shot.

"She looked up at the correctional officers that were booking her and asked if her hair was okay," Mendes testified.

Then another sidebar right after the cop talks some more about the smiling mugshot. Then they start on the paper trail stuff. Witness doesn't know if Hertz had security footage, but says that Jodi was with a man that had blonde hair.

Nurmi is suggesting Arias would not have left any type of a paper trail if she was on a "covert mission." Now the talk goes to the stupid rental car. Nurmi showed the jury Jodi's DL. The attorneys are at another sidebar with the judge. Martinez objected when Nurmi asked the witness if that was a copy of the license Arias had to show to rent a car.

Nurmi is finished and Juan is up again. They are talking about the receipts. Then Nurmi is up again. A juror wanted to know if there were any other receipts, for any other dates. Mendes said he does not recall.

I haven't seen one yet. Wild About Trial thinks the juror who was kicked off was the one he called "Heels" based on the high heels she wore. I have read only WAT tweets so far. Berms recaps are much easier to read and funnier too.

Here are some good shots from today guys. This makes me want to see this even more. They better play all of this after the verdict. Jennifer's bald spot makes its first appearance and a new detective who found birth control pills and condoms in her car at the time of her arrest. Some new evidence that wasn't discussed in the first trial.

I read that the issue was Juror 17 from the trial in 2013, and no jurors were booted. I don't know what went on in Chambers, but Juror 17 from the last trial was going on Dr. Drew.

Flores takes the stand for his recross by Nurmi. His goes over all his experience as a police officer.
Nurmi is questioning Flores about testimony he gave during a previous court hearing, in which he mentioned speaking with Dr. Horn about Alexander's autopsy. Nurmi is pointing out Flores previously testified that Horn told him Alexander had been shot first. Yesterday, Horn testified he does not recall any such conversation with Flores and has always believed Alexander was stabbed first.

Nurmi is questioning the sequence of events when JM objects.

Amanda Webb is called to the stand. Webb is an employee of Walmart. Prior to coming to Arizona, Arias purchased a gas can at a Walmart in Salinas, California. Webb identified that item on a receipt shown to her by Martinez.

Nurmi and JM go back and forth with this witness over those stupid damn gas receipts. Some on twitter said that Nurmi slammed down his file after this questioning was over with. Very dramatic was how it was described.

1 juror question: With the change of building was there a new asset protection manager at the new location? answer: no. Was the same audit performed at the new location? Yes. Nurmi says "you don't know that all the info was transferred correctly since you didn't work at that store" she agrees.

Sidebar..again.

The state calls Yreka police officer Kevin Friedman to the stand. Friedman said he investigated the reported theft of a .25 caliber gun by Jodi Arias' grandparents on May 28, 2008, just days before the murder. "It seemed very strange that so few things had been taken," Friedman said.

Juror question: Were any fingerprint obtained from the gun cabinet? It was attempted, but they found no usable prints.

The judge calls for a recess. Looks like the recess lasted around 2 hours.

The judge just told the jury they would not be needed again until Monday. She said "something else has come up." Before dismissing the jury, the judge told Juror No.17 to stay behind. The judge did not say why. The judge is now in chambers with the attorney's. It remains unclear what is going on, but Flores just told us Juror No. 17 was not dismissed. The attorney's are leaving. Court is over for the day. No explanation given. The retrial resumes Monday.

The #JodiArias penalty retrial was halted for unexplained reasons today.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we do not need you for the rest of the afternoon," Judge Stephens told jurors after lunch.

The judge inexplicably asked one juror, No. 17, to stay and apparently met privately with the juror and the attorneys. When Stephens and the lawyers emerged from the meeting, there was no additional explanation for the delay and court adjourned for the day.

The delay follows the dismissal this week of two jurors. The jury panel now includes 16 people -- 12 jurors plus four alternates.

"If they go below 12 it's a mistrial," legal analyst Jeffrey Evan Gold told HuffPost.

Former police detective Esteban Flores told reporters on his way out of court Thursday that no jurors were dismissed. However, Gold said that "doesn't mean that one won't be dismissed."

"If the juror had a family emergency, why wouldn't the judge say so? That happens all the time, but it didn't happen here," Gold continued. "The juror went into chambers to discuss something and when a court does things that are so secretive, it makes you wonder."

Am I the only one missing my Jodivision? I know it's not being aired, but NG and JVM must be flapping their mouths about the trial. Turner networks wants to raise their rates to Dish. Dish let the contract lapse because they say the new rates are too high. So, Turner pulled the plug. Dish says Turner will jack up their rates to all the providers so they are staying firm and holding the line for the whole country - so Dish customers should not change providers.

I would root for a mistrial because then we can just take it from the top.

I believe that the lack of tv broadcast this time around amounts to an admission by The State that mistakes were made in handling the first trial. Now they try (too late) to limit their exposure to appeals. Ultimately, after the appeals begin, I think the entire trial may be heard again, because a lot of wacky stuff happened with Jodi's witnesses and the public interaction. She deserves her sentence but was it obtained in a just and impartial manner?

Only about 15 or so public show up yo observe it and apparently, Maricopa County Courthouse thought they would get a swarm to where they made this little xtra room downstairs for the public to sit.
And let me tell you, I don't know what it is, but there are some big assholes that work in the security down there. Treat us there like we are children. I honestly thought I was back in elementary school again.
