Help! I'm so clueless when it comes to hair. I haven't had the time or energy to sit for hours at the salon and my hair is a mess. I'm going for a final prebaby appointment on wed and need to do something with my hair. It's long and straight and dyed a red brown. The colour is ok I guess but I want to know what's 'in' in the hair world. I like the two toned ends look but is this outdated already? I have also grown my bangs out but not sure re style? I don't want to go short.

I don't know what it is about hair.....I don't think I've ever had a cut or style that I think looks "good" on me. I have grown my bangs out, over the last couple of years. It's all now about shoulder length, now. I like my natural color, but I have some grays popping in more frequently now. I use a semi-permanent color that matches my own, and it tones the gray down a big. I don't look good in short hair, either. I have just enough wave to be a huge pain in the ass. It goes every which was that it wants.....so, the longer my hair, the easier it is to use brushes and straighten it out.

Yes! More Lush stuff! I'm addicted to it. I use Celestial face moisturiser and I looooooove it. Plus it smells heavenly.



It's pretty intense, so only for night time. They have a pretty matte moisturiser, Enzymion that I use during the day.

Did anybody get some good face moisturizer that they would recommend?

I've been using some Vit E lotion, but it seems to make my face look a little oily.

I use a product called Cetaphil. It has no soaps or fragrances or harsh chemicals and it recommended by dermatologists. I used the face was and the moisturizing lotion as well. I love it!

Do people use solid shampoo and conditioner? I'm going away for a month and going on a zillion flights and have to restrict the amount of liquids I'm carrying.
Are they nice? Do they work?

My boyfriend uses (and LOVES) the bars of shampoo and conditions that LUSH makes. He says they work well, make his hair (what little he has!) smell nice, and that they last for a long time. Sounds like the perfect solution for your travels??

Sounds awesome!! I had a bunch of layers cut into mine, a while back, but all my hair did was frizz. Maybe I'll pull a Britney Spears (not!)?

So we finally got some control over my daughters acne with Proactiv, but now we are left dealing with a whole whack of blackheads. I did some googling and came across this home remedy;
1 tablespoon of flavorless gelatin
1 tablespoon of milk
Mix together heat for 10 seconds in the microwave, apply to blackheads with makeup brush, leave on for 10 minutes, remove like a pore strip.

It was pretty cool it looked like she was peeling off her skin. It only hurt to peel where she has baby hair close to her hairline. It work not too bad, it got a lot of them, and was way cheaper than pore strips. Plus we had a good laugh doing it.
I do suggest putting it on thick it makes it way easier to pull off.

I'm going to try this! Those biore strips are too pricy for me, and I haven't seen them in generic form. Thanks for posting this

I've been using Aveeno positively radiant products on my face and my pores look noticeably smaller. It seems to be clearing up the blackheads on my nose pretty nicely, too. Yay!

I just read through the last two pages, and you all have some great ideas. Trailerparktrash - Nothing, and I mean nothing would remove the orange, but I wrote down the name of that shampoo and am going to get it. I went to Sally's (again) and bought a 4A Medium Brown color in a new brand. I can't remember the exact name - New Age or something like that. It is a line that covers gray well. I also got a little packet of additive to mix in with the color that eliminates orange and red tones. I applied the color on my roots first for 15 minutes, then I distributed it though my ends. It covered the orange! I'm a brunette with some lighter tones in the bottom section, and it looks good. I have been getting a lot of compliments on it this last week. It made my hair really full, especially on the top where it was totally flat.

I always had layers, but now there are really only 2 left - long and longer. What is the verdict on bangs? I had bangs for years and would love to have them again. With the increase in volume, I will be able to style them easily, but I don't know how it will look with my hair so long. I had lots of layers for years, and they are really nice and easy to style, so Ang's suggestion is great. Framing the face with layers always looks good. Thanks for all the tips and support.

I am trying the quote thing, but I may be doing it wrong. Proactiv is a separate company from Rodan + Fields, although they were created by the same dermatologists. You would have to call the Proactiv customer support number. If you are interested in any Rodan + Fields products though, I am doing a survey on FB and giving away free mini-facials for filling it out.

I ordered some of this! First off, I have to say it's freaking amazing. It works so well for your pores, blackheads, and redness on your face and neck.

It's a mud mask. When I put it on- you could feel your skin tightening up. It was such a strange experience. I left mine on for about 30 minutes then rinsed my face with warm water. My face was sooooooo soft afterwards.

People in the reviews say that they have noticed their pores getting smaller, but I haven't noticed it yet. It did get rid of the redness in my face and some of the tiny blackheads.

The only negative I have is that you have to mix it with apple cider vinegar. I hate the smell of vinegar.

Straight across, but long. I always had bangs, but most recently they were to the side because they got so long. I'm a bit reluctant to cut any part of the top since all of my layers grew out. I have 2 layers left, and they are pretty long. I just don't like my whole forehead exposed, so I'm leaning towards bangs. I will have a professional do it. I learned my lesson about trying to be my own hairdresser this last month.
