Have not been watching trial but started watching defense opening statements, could not make it even half way. I made it through the non emergency call. Based on what I've heard so far, the defense thinks do not persue only pertains to when your in a vehicle but you can stand your ground once you leave your vehicle?
One of the attorneys (Linda Kenney Baden) made a good point, when you have two jurors who are animal rescue workers, it is probably not the best idea to say in your client bought a gun to shoot the neighbors dog in your opening.
Glad you brought that up b/c it really pissed me off...actually the guy said Zimmerman HAD NO CHOICE but to buy a gun to defend himself and his family from the big scary dog. Like it was a totally normal thing to do. I thought WTF?? WHO DOES THAT???
HELLO!!!! Once again Zimmerman let the authorities do their job. If you have a problem with a dog, you file a complaint with the PROPER authorities. I swear this guy totally exudes Neighborhood Asshole. We all have had one of those at one time or another. The more I see and learn about this guy he just strikes me as a guy who was probably bullied in school, wants to have the authority of a badge and a gun to implement his own form of payback for all those times he had his head stuck in the toilet in the boys bathroom. I also get the vibe that he thinks that he is above the law. Are you serious? I read the same thing and saw it not as a lie (but then I must remember you pick everything apart to mean what YOU want it to mean).
It was just how he said it with a tad of humor. It reminds me of my brother defending his running behavior. It was, "I'm not running, I'm just walking fast"
I think some posters are of JAii mentality. They forget that some of us are not for one side or another at this point, and would prefer not to have absolute judgement . None of us were there, we just have a picture conjured up in our mind. Some see a young man walking merrily back to his house. Others see him acting a little odd which is why GZ noticed him.New here? I didnt read whatever history is there, after seeing how creative editing on major networks tried to turn this into a "race" thing, I tended to ignore the gibberish on this, and waited for the trial. Get both sides of the story ya know.
BTW...it is the fear of life-threating action that is involved in the statutes. Waiting until his brains are spilled out of the crack in his skull would be foolish on his part.

Not so. I stopped posting quite a while ago, so don't say I post continually. I think most posts of many of you are pointless because you give no leeway to others. Any thoughts you post are not necessarily "true", the posts are one sided interperetations and you slam those of us who are more open.
Without the venom, honestly - you really do not see your own bias here? If this situation was GZ confronted someone he thought was suspicious, the kid showed he lived there and it ended, your perspective would make sense. This situation got completely out of control and there is a reason for that.
For a man who shot an unarmed teenager to say something in a joking way?? That's ok ??? In what universe??
Look back through your own posts - you are making EVERY excuse for GZ's behavior and it is infuriating.

Exactly, this right here. Personally, I think "freethinker" is a GZ supporter an thus the venom against those of us who have followed this case very closely.
I don't feel I'm biased, I'm just not closed minded. If I sound biased, it's only because there is so much bias here and I'm just trying to lighten some of the statements made here. I don't make every excuse for GZ, I'm just countering some statements which are conclusions drawn by most here. As for the statement about "following", my point was the poster said he flat out lied. I was just saying it was not necessarily a flat out lie.

I think it might be you picking apart everything to have it mean what you want to mean. If you read my post and some of the my previous ones you would notice that I didn't write that - a writer for Esquire did. Those quotes are taken directly from GZ's interrogation tape with police which is posted a few pages back along with the complete Esquire article I quoted.
