Is the fact that she asked for death in that interview going to require the law to "evaluate" her again to see if she's fit to send to death. I'm nervous that the jury may give her death, but that her own words will be a grounds for appeal and she'll sit in a mental institution because no "sane" person asks for death.

That is a potential path to a better existence. Can't discount that angle being played right now. She could easily have instructed her defense to not allow familty to testify on her behalf. Any sane person would ask for immediate death if convicted of M1 w/DP. I know I would. I'm mostly sane.

The only thing Nurmi tried to do is humanize her.... And he could barely muster the energy to do so.

Agree to a point. She was just lucky. peeping. slashing tires. hacking emails. growing pot on your roof. She just never got caught or turned in.

I thought her parents did turn her in for growing the pot (they claimed they called the police), but since she was a juvenile, that record is probably sealed. So "technically", she has no prior record as an adult.

Did you see Willmott pull away as Arias leaned into speak to her?

If she did, I think Juan could bring in the interview tape, where she talks about how crazy and out of control Jodi was, and about there being no abuse in her childhood, and about growing marijuana, etc. Whatever good she might do would be far outweighed by the potential harm.

As we discussed previously, Jeffrey Dahmer is a much more sympathetic defendant than Jodi. Which is pretty tragic for her. Yikes.

I'm sure that's calculated since Nurmi was making a big deal out of how Jodi has no familial support. But, alas Mr. Nurmi, the jury has not been asleep. They have been there for 4 months while mom and aunt sat in the courtroom giggling and stuffing their faces. And don't forget, you brought in Jodi's siblings, her father, you even paraded her grandmother around, with and without a wheelchair.

Unless the jurors get lost on their way back from a lunch break and end up in a fog, they're going to remember this.
