No, I don't think that they can. These are statements not really testimony, BUT I would like to know what they were playing at when they asked for background, psychiatric medical records, etc. I don't know if in closing they can attack the character of the family. I would hope not.

Ian -- since you are here -- I wondered about the jurors giving the affirmations of their decisions yesterday. When it was there turn to individually confirm, it seemed as though Juror 2 was very loud and firm with his response. I was a little surprised at this because various trial-watchers (from outside this site) seemed to think he was leaning towards being a Jodi supporter; and there was even that video clip where it was suggested that Jodi said to Willmotte "We have juror 2" or something to that effect.

So, I guess my question is, could you tell anything about his demeanor when he spoke up? If you could even see him that is. He seemed bold and confident, and frankly I was surprised by that, since it's been suggested he might be the one who leaned Jodi's way. Perhaps he just had a commanding speaking voice? We know that things sounds different on tv/internet than in court, as many have said Martinez does not come across as "shouty" in the courtroom, as he sometimes does on the media feed.

So yeah, I'm not sure if you noticed anything in particular, like as to demeanor of the jurors or if you were even close enough, but was just a little curious. I would be interested to know if any of the jurors made eye contact with the DT/Jodi, or even just looked in the direction of their table.

That's how ridiculous Wilmott's cross of Dr. Kevin Horn was. Childish really and obviously grasping at straws or just going through the motions! "Go ahead and stab away. It doesn't hurt 'cause I'm having an adrenaline rush." Obviously it didn't impress any Juror, not even the unorthodox guy wearing the flip-flops!!!

Dan's brother actually committed suicide on the day of Jodi's arrest. It turned out in the suicide note, the brother said that he was molested as a child and that he had terrible urges and thoughts, and that he was afraid he could become an abuser himself, and he could not live with that; so he killed himself.

The thinking is, that this is where Jodi got the idea to label Travis a pedophile.

He is connected to 'Legal Shield' and gave me his card before we parted at the end of the day.

The second interview with JVM that Denver and I had took place just minutes after the Cruelty verdict was announced. The Jury deliberated for exactly one hour and thirty-three minutes, (according to JVM) and we did the interview just minutes after that.

Trivial details that give the story life and legs! It is a helluva story and I expect the impact of how it all unfolded from beginning to end will stay with all of us for a long time to come.

If anybody wants to read a good book about a comparable murder, read "Internal Combustion" by Joyce Maynard. It's a book about the woman in Detroit who did her automobile engineer husband in. It's a good read with some parallels to the Arias case.

    Thanks.
His name is Chris and he was interviewed by Jane after you guys yesterday , and he stuck up for Bossy. On one of my visits, she gave erroneous seating advise to a mom and daughter, who almost missed getting in even though they arrived before 2/3rds of the line. The deputy marshal returned after finding he had two more seats for them.
Chris had the entire back row and was catching zzzzz's that morning.

I don't believe Travis' siblings can be "crossed" because they are not actually testifying. Same goes for Jodi though, she can get up there and say whatever she wants and Martinez can't stop her.

I can't imagine the defense can attack Travis' sibling about anything because their personal history is not relevant to Jodi's fate. Had they taken the stand in the actual trial, I imagine they would've tried to paint them as drug users or having grown up abused so that they thought abuse was a normal thing and then so did Travis, etc. I believe it was Alyce who tried to paint Travis as an abuser because he grew up being abused. I don't think they can do that in closing though. Even if they could, it would be extremely unwise. The jury didn't stand for the DT attacking Travis and dragging him through the mud, they certainly aren't going to look favorably on the DT attacking his grieving family

I could see Jodi being defiant enough to do it, and her DT not being able to stop her.

The one thing that I thought was good? The talking heads on HLN said that Travis' family can address the pedo/abuse allegations and how those false claims effected them as a family.

It's interesting how easily she was able to manipulate all her co-prisoners. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that in the free world, all the females in Travis' life knew something was off with Jodi right away,
But that isn't the case really here and why this pychopath is so dangerous and should never be let free.
Sky is female and was easily and quickly fooled. She liked her! thought her a good match for Travis. Was even willing to bite into Travis' ass, her friend of many years, on nothing more than the lies from a killer she barely knew.

She's a good manipulator. Drews second chair and that other TH were whining for her last night! Both females!
All they want to see is ... a love affair gone bad murder. They are batshit themselves. She was arrested with her 'future' killing weapons; knives and guns. How many bodies do they want before they stop their whining!

I can only guess that those who rally around Jodi in prison are of a similar stripe; criminals who don't think they did anything wrong; someone else was to blame and they're all innocent victims.
^This! In crime, it's all a game to them all. Except apparently, she can't fool them all, one wanted to bash her head (fight).
Interesting. I assume he'll go on about how Jodi was so good with his son, blah blah blah. And obviously if she liked kids, she couldn't be a bad person; nevermind that she is a cold-blooded murderer. SMH
I agree! Killer remembers JM's dig at her in re to a child... paraphrased 'would you depend on this defendant if a child needed medical care'.
She hates him for that, can't let go of it, it turns in her mind as an offense that must be dealt with!

Defense team still trying to get out of it! I wonder why they keep trying, I can't imagine the judge would allow it this late in the game; it's almost over. And surely they don't think Jodi could handle mitigation herself, nor that the judge would just go, "okay, forget the last 5 months, do-over!" So really, what is the point in trying to withdraw now?

Interesting with that other motion, seems they want to know what Travis' siblings are going to say before they get up and say it No doubt because they want to try and counter it somehow. Glad it was denied. It shouldn't be a matter of "Jodi gets up there and crafts her statement to counteract the siblings", it should be her honest (haha) attempt to save her own life by speaking from the heart (hahaha).

Thanks so much, M Joy!!! Wow, just heard on HLN that JW and KN wanted to withdraw but they didn't give the details! Can we blame them? lol But this was on Tues. that they asked to withdraw? I wonder then what the reason was for court being cancelled on Thurs., when the aggravation phase was to begin, the day after the verdict, after she did the interview! (Hope I"m getting my days straight, can't keep the schedule straight, lol.)

Prison is quite a bit different than the county jail too. The woman there are a little more hardened and it may be a little bit harder to gain control for Ms. Jodi.

Did anyone who took a walk on the dark side (JAII site) notice the posts regarding a letter writing campaign to Alan Dershowitz to be her attorney on appeal? IMO just another dirty trick from this defense. Use mob hate of Jodi to gain sympathy for themselves after their disgusting strategies and court behaviors.
Second gain -- their private practices. Quite clever when you think about it on one hand, and pretty stupid on the other. So they gain sympathy from a couple JA haters.... and what? They are saying they will want to dump their client without following through on their 'job' on the other hand. Great move for private practice advertising.

The comments over there that made me worry were the ones about finding out who is on the jury. Asking if those names will be public when all is said and done.... Why the fuck would anyone need to know who the jurors are? After reading it I thought the state should really keep the names of the remaining ones sealed!! Those people are fucked! I wouldnt put it past them to try something with a juror if they dont like the outcome!

Karma is only a bitch if you are!

OMG - Donovan. How can I describe her/him. It sat right in front of Ian. I cannot adequately describe her. I wonder if the JA family realizes how weird she is.

The Alexander family sat right across from me and I tell you their pain and sorrow is real genuine. JM is very attentative to them. Professional guy!

JW has nice legs but that's about it. Nurmi is.. Well, Nurmi. A giant. Reminds me of Golith. David is JM.

The mitigation specialist? How can I describe? Rode hard and put up wet? I don't know but I swear she reminds me or a Tijuana hooker. High heals? She must get nose bleed. Totally unprofessional appearance and demeanor.

The jury! First time I've seen them and from my seat they were all visible. Very ordinary looking folks probably overwhelmed by their responsibility. When JM speaks he has the attention of all jurors. It's impressive.

    Next part to follow.

    Good analysis and inside info.

I think that the mitigation specialist is fresh off performing in Tijuana Donkey Shows. Seems like a piece of trash.

Josh Freeman is still alive. Plays quarterback for the buccaneers.
