I agree with you, I think she shoot him first and he was still able to move. My father got shot not once but twice on the head (although I must say it was a caliber 22) and he never lost conscience. The only thing that bothers me with this theory is the ME's statement about no blood in the brain/skull (?) and that is why he thought the shoot came last after he already was dead.
Either way, I really don't think it matters what came first or last. She killed him savagely and she got her well deserved punishment.

It was just not the lack of blood in the brain, but the angle of the bullet. It went down..and she had to be standing. Also, where the casing landed. I believe she shot him last because he was in a death rattle and she may have gotten scared. I will always believe the gun was the last resort due to the fact she stole it and if they did catch her, it would be tied to her by circumstance.

I believe the knife she used was the exact one she used on his tires. Symbolic.

Far from unfazed. Barely mobile and not very coherent with a bullet in his cheek. Thus could not fend off the knife attack the way he would have if it was first. Doesn't matter where the knife was she had the time to get it because he was trying to figure out what happened. She mentioned he was screaming on all 4's during the ninja story. I believe he was screaming on all 4's from the bullet wound before he was able to stand and stagger to the sink. They actually had a forensic guy on HLN at 9:00 with that same theory. He could very well have uttered 'you effing bitch' or whatever she said, (that he said) on the stand as she was going for the knife (another case where it sounds like a lie but there could be truth to it).

That's not the defense claim though. Jodi claimed Travis was normal to the point where she supposedly didn't even notice that shot him. She thought she shot the wall, supposedly. Willmott tried to claim several times -- when the ME was on the stand -- that Travis would've been fine and functional after being shot. Willmott was claiming the brain hadn't been penetrated. She claimed the dura mater wasn't penetrated. Jodi never said Travis was barely mobile and not coherent. Jodi said she didn't remember.

Aside from that, and the lack of hemorrhage in the face/head, a knife plunged into your chest and severing a main artery to the heart would also render you pretty incapable of actively fighting back.

As for the location of the knife, I don't think she had the time to get it, unless it was on her person or very nearby. IMO, it was in the bathroom either on her or in her backpack. I think that makes location very relevant because of the short time period to inflict all of those injuries. That means she didn't have time to run down and run back up.

I can understand your argument, I just think it's more likely the knife to the chest came first. We'll have to agree to disagree.

I think they are up first. Then the defense gets to call as many people they want. I heard it will probably go into next week, according to one of the HLN reporters.

She said in her police interrogation that Travis was screaming the whole time. Probably why she finally slit his throat. She was worried about someone hearing him.
I also think she had a back pack. A purse would be too small to carry the gun, knife and change of clothes. She brought it all with her. Convenient.

Now that they have found aggravating factors apply, I think the parole is out of the picture. It's either LWOP or DP, which the jury will get to decide (and hopefully, they will be able to come to a unanimous decision on that.)

Yes, and yes. I am so impressed with their interviews and posts. Great insight, and such an intelligent way of expressing their opinions. So, either way, she is going down. Do you know what is the next step for her defense team? I wonder if she is going to fire them and hire new attorneys to handle the appeal. I would think that is her game plan. She can blame this defense team for not going in with an insanity defense. Can't very well blame the defense representation if they are going to represent on appeal.

OMG - Donovan. How can I describe her/him. It sat right in front of Ian. I cannot adequately describe her. I wonder if the JA family realizes how weird she is.

The Alexander family sat right across from me and I tell you their pain and sorrow is real genuine. JM is very attentative to them. Professional guy!

JW has nice legs but that's about it. Nurmi is.. Well, Nurmi. A giant. Reminds me of Golith. David is JM.

The mitigation specialist? How can I describe? Rode hard and put up wet? I don't know but I swear she reminds me or a Tijuana hooker. High heals? She must get nose bleed. Totally unprofessional appearance and demeanor.

The jury! First time I've seen them and from my seat they were all visible. Very ordinary looking folks probably overwhelmed by their responsibility. When JM speaks he has the attention of all jurors. It's impressive.

I have always thought the mitigation specialist looks and acts very unprofessional. When I first started watching the trial, I thought she was a friend who had somehow gotten permission to be near Jodi, for whatever reason. When I found out what her job is, I was stunned. Her look is inappropriate for the courtroom, and her behavior is disgusting. The worst moment was when she burst into laughter at one of JM's questions....the day that the judge admonished everyone in the courtroom for their outburst. Then again, the defense team behaved improperly throughout the trial, as well. What a bunch! Thank you for the awesome updates!!

I actually agree with a lot of this... every time I listen to her ninja/intruder story, I hear other things that make me think she's describing the actual scene as if she were watching it instead of participating in it.

Long time lurker...at least as long ago as my first MySpace, first time commenter. Wonderful insight here on this case.

I'm going to be a Debbie Downer for a sec.

DP...it's too good for her, and the "faith" that I have in the CJ system is so very conflicting. With opportunity to appeal, the slowness of this process...golly, evidenced by how long this whole process has taken! I have had a loved one murdered. Her POS murders sit on death row. 25 years ago she was murdered. Appeals that judge was drunk, judge can't sentence to death ("we want a jury"), drug problems, "we confessed...were promised a deal", and the kicker? The death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment. Yup. Why a lot of DP cases have been put on hold? Our case is a result of that.

This lady needs to rot. All by herself. In the hole. We need to make her persona non grata and FORGET this bitch. Her Narcissistic Personality Disorder will go into overdrive, and maybe she'll find a way to do herself in.

Rest in Peace Travis Alexander. To the Alexander family, I am sorry...you may have a long road still ahead; I am so sorry for your pain. I'm so sorry you have to be revictimized.
