    I was afraid of that, but I have confidence in this judge who has realized what this monster is capable of. She will respect the jury and will do what she thinks they want since they have sacrificed their lives for the past months!! NO LWOP. She doesn't have an 'absolution' rule so she does see all the other evidence and news and opinions on this trial, correct?! I can't imagine she'd give an opportunity for parole with knowledge of all the info we might not even know. She has let in everything possible to PREVENT an appeal.

    Wonder how Nurm and Willi will have a career now, hopefully they've peaked, but unfortunately there are other evil ppl on the planet to 'defend'. Wonder how much they made on this case.

All their statements had to be directed as though they were speaking to the judge. But, I remember Greg's father in the Pam Smart trial did address Pam directly at the end of his VIS. It would be a shame if the family were not allowed to say a few choice words (yet with the class they've demonstrated consistently) directly to Jodi. Thank you to all for the info.
    I havent heard anything about that but just wanted to say i remember that trial! I was very young but i remember everyone watching it/or the news. She lived right down the street and my mom and aunts knew her. Haven't thought about that in awhile.

I am a terrible Googler and didn't find anything in particular about Arizona. But I did read a few articles about how many prefer the DP because they get numerous opportunities for appeal, and actually have better living conditions that those sentenced to LWOP.
    people are here are great with that info but i just wanted to say welcome :)

    When the jury asked her if she would have ever told the truth had she not been arrested her answer was "I don't know, can't answer that" .
    Yet she changed her answer in that tv interview to: "I would turn around and drive to the Mesa police station." Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffttt! Who believes that?

    I think that all that money and energy could be put to more positive endeavors. I know it isn't possible, but I think it would be really cool if all the resources it takes to put JA on Death Row could go to the charity of the Alexander's choice.
    This is pretty much how I feel on this issue too. I would rather that money be spent on things other than Jodi Arias.

    No matter how much Jodi suffers (or if she is killed by DP), it will not bring Travis back. This doesn't mean I don't think she should be locked up without parole. But I don't think that the equation of "more suffering for Jodi" = "more relief for Travis's family" is necessarily true.

    And I also think that having to face her in appeals for decades on end could be worse than knowing she is going to be locked up until she dies.

    YES! I actually have liked Dr. Drew's show during this trial. Always liked him but I think he has tried to honor Travis through video and guests, as well as all he has to say about Stabs.

    Welcome NazyNoodle !!
    From what I understand, if she gets LWOP, she is still among the population BUT if she gets the Death Penalty she is more confined to herself, w/ very limited contact.

    Even though he was dismissed, I think it would be better if the jurors kept out of the spotlight until the sentence is handed down. I don't really think we need any more of a media circus

I used to watch all her reports and thought she was just fabulous, just a brilliant reporter, but yeah the media really dropped the ball on this one.
    Yes the media did drop the ball. Yes Jamie was one of the main journalists. It played live on local TV here, the details were so disturbing. I had just moved here right before this trial started, ,made me question my decision for sure.

    They starting publicly crying simply due to being smited because they repeatedly post off-topic crap that's inconsequential. Twinmutha blatantly led whilst complaining, attempting to give the impression that I was threatening toward her children, which wasn't even close to the truth. I merely responded to their initial salvo of complaining & fabricating. Thank you.

    If Sandy Arias gets up on the stand and says anything contradictory to what she said to Flores then JM will impeach the shit out of her.

    I think so too. They all had to confirm they were open to the death penalty before being chosen for the jury. When you combine the heinousness of her crime with her endless lies and her total and complete lack of even a shred of remorse, I think it adds up to the death penalty. If not now, when? If Jodi is not deserving, who is?

    Welcome, NazyNoodle!

I get the impression that JM has been very honest and up-front with the Alexander family about what has happened and what might happen throughout this trial process.

    As for the death penalty, IMO, the horror of that sentence is the wait and the conditions in which the convicts are kept. Knowing that each day brings you one step closer to facing up to your crime, and you have absolutely no control over anything in your life. Death Row is a bigger punishment than death itself.

    Does Arias deserve it? Well, her crime is absolutely worthy of death. But, I will admit it.... I don't think her life is worth what it costs to give her the death penalty. I agree, it would be great if all the money could be spent on something better, but sadly it can't. As far as the expense. I would imagine that the cost of housing Jodi on death row (including appeals) for 12 years is probably comparable to the cost of housing Jodi in the general population for 50 years (including appeals). She could easily live 50 years.

    Frankly, even if it was more expensive, I would still prefer the DP in this case.

    And to make matters worse, when asked during her interview what she would have "done differently", her response was that she would have gone to the Mesa police after the crime, NOT that she would never have gone to Travis' house at all. That says a lot, to me, and I hope the jury gets to hear that interview.

    A sheriff on TV said she'll be in same kind of custody either way, but she can get upgraded if LWOP for good behavior after about 8 years.

    This is 3rd 48HRS episode dedicated to her.

    Unraveling the lies of Jodi Arias - This Friday on 48 Hours 10PM ET http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50146897n

    This from before the court room was cleared after the verdict:

    @maryellenabc15 58m

    #jodiarias now smiling as she talks with security guard -- almost like a social event..no huge reaction -- that we could see from gallery

    @elizabetherwin 59m

    No emotion from #jodiarias. She even seems to be smiling while talking to lawyers after just learning she could be sentenced to death.
