I don't think so. I had a anesthesia mishap years ago. They told me is was a very short period of time. It felt like forever. My mind was keenly aware of what was happening and I noticed every sound I heard and every touch upon my body. I believed I was going to die or that I was in the process of dying or that I was already dead and stuck in my body. Time stood still. My mind had a lot of time to process many thoughts...none of which were that I would be okay. My reaction when I could respond was to pull the tube down my throat and try to get the fuck out of there. I think I might have a tiny sliver of what Travis' mind was doing. My episode did not include "pain", I was paralysed and unable to breath...or blink or move any muscle in my body. I was terrified because the medical staff didn't speak to me and treated my body as if I was dead. They lifted my arm to do something and then just dropped it.

I have always been against the death penalty. In this case, I cannot say that I would WANT Jodi to get the death penalty. However, with the way I feel about her after watching this entire trial, I won't be upset if she does get it. I feel like such a hypocrite!

I'm in the same boat as you, primarily because I want to watch that smug look wiped off of her face as she hears Judge Sherry pronounce that she has been sentenced to death. Hopefully the Judge will demand she stand for her sentencing; I would love to see her knees buckle! She needs to know, that despite all of her lies and manipulations and attempts at obfuscation, the rest of the (sane) world sees beyond her act, and do believe her crime to be beyond horrific. But, I honestly believe that the far worse sentence for her would be living out the rest of her natural life, 40-50 years or more, in prison.

Jury's decision is a verdict.
The jurors' verdict form includes this language:

If their verdict is 'proven,' the case moves to the final phase: the penalty phase. At this juncture, the jury will deliberate a third time on whether Arias will receive the death penalty.

If their verdict is 'not proven,' the case is over. Jurors will be excused. The judge will set a sentencing date within 30-60 days. Stephens will then decide if Arias gets life without parole or life with parole eligibility after 25 years.

And to think she thought she'd be famous from the beginning! (manifesto) I don't think she knows how much hate/negativity there is for her in the world. Wish she could physically feel it, for I don't think she'd survive.

Which would save even more money for her appeals (though they would go against since she wants 'death') and additional cost for her pathetic life in a cell for years. Is it $30,000 a year?

You're welcome. Interestingly, I was googling around the net about jury nullification and there really seems to be only 1 state where it's fairly common; Alabama. Unfortunately for defendants, it seems that most often when a judge there overrides a jury it is because the judge wants to impose the death penalty.

ITA- I watched this trial and it was the worst, most haunting trial ever. I will never forget the victims. The worst part is the mainstream media would not cover it because of the racial issues!

oh, just noticed you are from Knoxville, out of all the defendants I only saw Vanessa Coleman's trial, as you say media didn't cover it so I heard about it by accident. It was harrowing especially the ME testimony. I honestly don't know how the families were able to keep going, but they did and do. Umm who was it, a journo by the name of Jamie Sattler? I used to watch all her reports and thought she was just fabulous, just a brilliant reporter, but yeah the media really dropped the ball on this one.

I don't want to compare what I went through to what Travis did, as he was battling a knife, but I will tell you that these girls had me down on the sidewalk for what felt like an eternity, kicking and punching me. I could not get away from them. I must have been screaming for help because eventually some people came over and pulled them off me.

For the next 4 hours, I could NOT stop shaking. I think this was the adrenaline. I was literally physically shaking, like you do when you are very cold and your body starts shivering.

Based on what I went through, I do believe that until he went unconscious, Travis was fully aware of what was happening to him and he knew he was going to die.

I've read other accounts of people who've been in situations like that, and they all describe that time slows down and their thoughts become very clear. It doesn't mean one is capable of acting on those thoughts, necessarily, but in my case, it felt like my thinking was very clear even though it was a totally chaotic situation.

I guess I compared your situation to Travis because at some point you thought you might die. I think he didn't realize at first he was going to die. I was in shock AFTER the auto accident, but I remember 13 yrs later every second in slow motion. I also didn't feel my injuries until hours later after the shock wore off. I can't imagine the shock you were in because death was a possibility in your mind.

I wonder at what point Travis 'realized' he was going to die. I think when she kept stabbing him at the sink and he tried to defend himself and when he couldn't make it down the hall very fast it hit him. Someone said that Jodi mixed truth with her lies and that Travis' probably said "I'm going to kill you f#$@# bitch" and "OMG I can't feel my legs" and he collapsed in the hall. I do not know where I heard that though or if it's true, but it makes sense.

Did they ever catch the girls that did that to you?

My brother saw that on his stream. Dammit!! I missed it. It doesn't surprise me much. She looks like she's been drugged up, since trial started for the day.
