Yes, that really happened. & he'd left to get something from the staffroom just before the final credits, so it had a good 15mins screentime before he burst through the door red-faced & stuttering. Rumours got back to parents & senior staff, but it was such an OUTRAGEOUS story!! Not a single adult believed it was possible.
Coincidentally, my 13yr old came home today with a permission note to watch Gladiator (oh joy, Russell fucking Crowe in the classroom, the perfect role model for adolescent boys, at least it's not Romper Stomper, I guess). Not sure how your film classification works, but I think in our public schools even if it's completely tame, they're legally required to get the permission notes done if there's any overlap between the minimum age of the film's rating & the minimum age of the kid's in the class that are going to view it (apologies if someone addressed that bit already, should've checked before I tacked it on the end of my off- topic post).
