This is the most sane thing Monica Lindstrom has said! I'm not a fan! But with her comments, not only did she enlighten me about why JA was allowed to testify her BS for 18 days, but, that this is a law to protect those who may have no corroborating evidence in their case. After this case, I can most certainly understand the motive for 'The Travis Alexander Law'! But she [Monica Lindstrom] is right! This is where the Jury comes in, and as proved in this case, the BS did not fly!

Seems to me, laws that protect, can equally attack!

I don't know why everyone has Coconut dead and buried. The end of this trial was a satisfying stunner and there's not much to say after that. I, for one, am grateful that she cannot murder again. No other civilized countries have the death penalty as a punishment. While I agree that she certainly qualifies for it, I have personal misgivings as to how far the law should go. I have not posted since the verdict....I've been fairly active on this forum, but my father has been on life support for the last week and was taken off today. I have no room for JA, until this moment, but Coconut's absence may be also be for reasons we do not understand.

I'm SO sorry to hear about your father.....my thoughts are with you. I know that this is an incredibly painful experience to go through. Prayers for comfort and peace...

I hope they can now proceed with the last stages of this trial, and get Jodi out of the limelight. That is the worst punishment for someone like her......to just become another inmate number.

Moments ago, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office received an order from the Superior Court of Arizona and Honorable Judge Sherry Stephens that from today, prohibits Sheriff’s Office officials from approaching defendant Jodi Arias for the purposes of media interview requests.

We will not attempt to contact Arias for purposes of media interviews until that order is lifted by the court.

Once the court lifts the order, and if inmate Arias agrees to do interviews, all interested media parties will be notified immediately by Sheriff’s PIO via email. Interviews will be conducted thereafter in the order already received.

ETA: I think that this was the reason for the closed hearing today, at least in part.

About fucking time but she apparently didn't notice that the Felon approached FOX10, not the other way around.

Once the trial is over and the Judge has sentenced her she's out of Sheriff Joe's hands and control..

As soon as Jodi Arias is sentenced, you can expect to see her custody transferred from the county sheriff to the state prison system, possibly on camera.

Arizona's Department of Corrections has a dramatically different policy toward the media than does the county jail. A TV crew can get a state prisoner on the phone for a recorded interview, but they are never allowed to bring in the cameras for a personal interview with an inmate about his or her crime. AZDOC may allow a camera in from time to time to do a story about a new rehabilitation program, for instance. But officials there have told me they simply refuse to put inmates up for individual stories "about my life and times in crime," as they sarcastically put it. I've made the requests myself and so have many TV crews I've worked with. So far, no results.

AZDOC is also much stricter about who can come in for a regular visit. No longer a first-come, first-serve system where you can show up unexpected and have the inmate brought out to you, in Arizona prisons an inmate must designate visitors on a list. Each person named by the inmate as a welcome visitor must undergo their own background check by the prison. Plenty of people could be refused access to prison invitation, starting with people who have their own felony convictions.

The visitor list is restricted to 20 people, last time I checked. So to receive any visitors at all, an orange jump-suited guest of the State of Arizona must hope for people who are both willing to submit to the background check and who will pass it.

If they are unable to reach a unanimous decision they will be dismissed and a new jury impaneled. If that jury is unable to reach a unanimous decision the judge has a choice to impose LWOP or life w/possibility of parole after 25 years.

If the jury is unanimous that cruelty was proven we move on to the penalty phase where both sides will present evidence as to whether she should or should not be shown leniency. After hearing both sides the jury will deliberate to determine whether the DP is appropriate and again they must be unanimous. If they are unable to reach a unanimous verdict they are dismissed and a new jury impaneled, if that jury is unable to reach a unanimous decision the judge has the choice to impose LWOP or life w/possible parole after 25 years.

So says the AZ Title 13 Criminal Code, at least as far as I have been able to make out after many readings...
Thanks. Sorry, I heard that and didn't really know, that's why I said I had heard it and was confused. I usually don't post things I'm not sure about and I guess I shouldn't have this either. Really, thanks for clarifying it for me though.

I have a new theory about what triggered Jodi's killing of Travis.

During the month of May, she had been developing a relationship with Ryan Burns. I think he was her next "target" in the target-rich PPL/Mormon community she gained access to through Travis. She realized that Travis didn't want her, and so she shifted to her attentions to Ryan.

When Travis, near the end of May, threatened to out to her to everyone, I think she decided she had to get rid of him because this would ruin her access to the PPL/Mormon community of men.

I think this is the straw that broke the camel's back and led her to decide to kill him.

    Thoughts?

    From Shanna Hogan:
Today the the judge, wisely, ordered Jodi to stop doing jailhouse interviews. Thankfully she won't have a platform to continue spreading lies about Travis on TV! Just wanted to share that once she is transferred to prison she won't be able to ever speak to the media again. Not even by phone. And if she gets death she will be transferred immediately, which means she won't have a chance to speak to the media again. So if the judge keeps this order through sentencing then Jodi has spoken for the last time. Her moment in the limelight is coming to an end!

I think her interest in him showed that she was on the prowl for another PPL/Mormon target. Being publicly outed by Travis, a central figure in that community, would ruin that opportunity.
