Oh, yeah, that's been discussed. She slept at Matt's and his roommate's that night. I always thought she had deposited the $800. up near Yreka, but Martinez pointed out in rebuttal that it was on June 3rd - after her visit to Matt and Daryl.

My take is she fired her lawyers to throw a spanner in the works. "Mark my words"

My friend who is a defense attorney said that he did not believe the judge would allow them out at this late stage in the game. He also said the underlying verdict for Arias will stand, unless the judge make an error. I would not put it past the defense to try to force an error. Probably why court was cancelled because the judge was smart in not allowing it to go forward since the jail said she was capable of harm to herself.

Personally, I think this whole think was well planned way before Wednesday. She sat in jail and tried to figure out how to throw a wrench in the court hearings if she was found convicted of murder 1. In fact, she gets to watch TV in the psych ward - main room, according to Jean Cesarez (sp?), who went in and asked questions. Her mother was not allowed to see her last night. Az law states if a prisoner is capable of harm to themselves, and admitted to the ward, they are under strict observation for a min time period of 72 hours.

There can be no retrial at this point. If the defense teams forces the judge to commit an error, they can ask for a new trial. I do believe this was why court was cancelled yesterday. She gave a 45 minute interview saying she wants to die. She is being evaluated by a psychiatrist. I want to know if it is possible for her to fake mental illness to a point where it impedes the court process. Anyone out there know?

According to Mark Eiglarsh the judge denied the defenses motion for the family to make victim impact statements via video tape.

I am so so happy to read this!!!!!!! She needs to face the music and sit her ass down to hear each and every one of them. I am presuming she is not woman enough to look the in the eye.

I don't believe there's anything she can do at this point. She's been convicted. I think she'll be sentenced one way or another.

She'd have to appeal the conviction at this point... and she'll have to prove there's good reason for the appeal to do so.

Seriously, I think she sat and planned how to derail the court hearing on Wednesday. She knew there would be a vote on how cruel her killing of Travis was, and she would know after the vote whether it goes to death or life in prison or life with parol. I just believe she had a plan. Why she set up the interview on Sunday night. She knew it would raise red flags, attract more attention ( the news reporters are now saying they have never seen anything like it!), so she is sitting her ass in the community tv center watching it all - laughing at how gullible everyone around her is and she did it all by her little lonesome self.

Okay.....this still bothers the piss out of me: Why was she allowed near the meeeeeeeeedia. I don't think Sheriff Joe and his guards are that stupid....for fuck sake, they had issue with Jodi being in chambers without a guard there. When someone is convicted of a crime, it is typical for them to be cuffed and remanded to the custody of the guards and immediately whisked away. Why did this not happen? Jodi belonged to the prison system, from the moment that sentence was pronounced. Her freedom of speech flew out the window. There is something wrong, here. Why was she allowed to sit and chat with the media before being transferred out? WTF is wrong with this "reporter"......he knew it was wrong. Someone's head is going to roll for this.....the people of AZ should be demanding it.

I think that reported was in hog heaven to get the interview!! She could do what she wanted to according to the person who gave information to Jane VM. He said to her that they could not stop her.

But. I agree with you. I thought the judge said no one (jurors) with subtle hints... (meaning, attorneys - if they are smart, and clients - if they even have a brain! ), so she had to disobey them all.

Yes, I agree. Someone else mentioned a mistrial. My attorney friend said that if the defense can force a judge error, they could try to ask for a new trial from a superior court. Or course, the judge is way too smart to try to fall into their hands this late in the game.

He also said that once she is given dp or life in prison, appeals will begin. Automatically for dp.

I got sidetracked ---- I wanted to say you cannot PETITION for a retrial and have a bunch of yahoos sign it. There are ways the court deals with this. It is called the Appeals process......I need an aspirin.
