I wonder how that makes her feel, to know there were rewards for the other 2 girls and their cases were on the FBI site, and not her? (I read this on the CNN site).
I bet the a$$hole was sure to point it out to her. My heart goes out to her. I believe it was her mother I saw saying she wants to get her out of Cleveland and down to Florida with her. I hope she has a beautiful loving life ahead of her.
By the way, it's Michelle Knight, not Kathleen.

Why Cops Bust Down Doors of Medical Pot Growers, But Ignore Men Who Keep Naked Girls on Leashes

Thanks to the drug war, police have much more incentive to go after drug crimes than more heinous crimes.

CLEVELAND - Now-Internet sensation Charles Ramsey was not the only person to help break down the door of a Seymour Avenue house, freeing three missing women.
?I helped her and I was first,? Angel Cordero told NewsChannel5?s Stephanie Ramirez in Spanish.
On Monday, Ramsey, Cordero and other neighbors in a west side neighborhood of Cleveland helped Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight escape. The women had disappeared in separate cases about a decade ago.
?Ramsey arrived after she was outside with the girl,? Cordero said. ?But the truth who arrived there, who crossed the street, who came and broke the door, it was me.?
Wintel Tejeda, who lives across the street from the suspect?s house, said others helped and when Berry came out, they gave her a phone.
?She was able to call police from my house,? Tejeda said in Spanish.
Now with Ramsey?s interview making headlines, both men said they?re not jealous.
?I did what had to be done. I helped her,? Cordero said. ?They have their daughter, daughters are safe over there.?
    Sigh.

If you came to my house, you'd see that the basement door is dead-bolted from the kitchen. It might seem strange, but it's really because the basement is a super vulnerable point of entry and we live in the city. If someone breaks into the basement, they can steal my dirty laundry. Please and thank you.

    Poor Michelle!

Michelle Knight is still being treated for anxiety at Metro Health Medical Center. But Carl Monday reports that Michelle is hospitalized, for possible reconstructive surgery, to heal injuries suffered at the hands of her attacker during her decade in captivity.

Michelle's grandmother, Deborah Knight, confirmed the information, telling 19 Action News: "When she was severely beaten, he had beat her so bad in the face, she has to have facial reconstruction, and she's lost hearing in one ear."

Records obtained by Carl Monday investigations show Michelle may have faced physical abuse before she was kidnapped. Records show David Feckley was charged and convicted in the early 2000's of child endangerment, for breaking Michelle's infant son's arm. He served eight years in prison. But a rape charge was dropped when the alleged victim, Michelle, couldn't be found. Of course, now we know where she was: on Seymour Avenue.

Michelle wasn't seeing visitors Thursday, not even her family. Yesterday, her mom, in from Naples, Florida, met with Michelle briefly at the hospital. But a relative told us the meeting was strained, and Michelle asked her mom to leave.

Meanwhile, the community is now showing its love and concern for Michelle, lighting up social media. Someone even offered her a place to stay. One woman stopped by Michelle's grandmother's house this morning with balloons and flowers.

"I wanted to let her know people are thinking about her," says Lindsey Perkins, a total stranger.

Thursday evening friends and concerned citizens hosted a "balloon release" on Seymour to honor Michelle's escape.

Prosecutors said Thursday they may seek the death penalty against Castro as police charged that he impregnated one of his captives at least five times and made her miscarry by starving her and punching her in the belly. The allegations were contained in a police report that also said another one of the women, Amanda Berry, was forced to give birth in a plastic kiddie pool.
Cuyahoga County prosecutor Timothy McGinty said his office will decide whether to bring aggravated murder charges, punishable by death, in connection with the pregnancies that were terminated by force. McGinty said Castro will be charged for every act of sexual violence, assault and other crimes committed against the women, suggesting the counts could number in the hundreds, if not thousands.
Castro, 52, is being held on $8 million bail under a suicide watch in jail, where he is charged with rape and kidnapping.
"Capital punishment must be reserved for those crimes that are truly the worst examples of human conduct," McGinty said. "The reality is we still have brutal criminals in our midst who have no respect for the rule of law or human life."
The three women said Castro chained them up in the basement but eventually let them live on the home's second floor. Each woman told a similar story about being abducted after accepting a ride from him.
Berry, now 27, told officers that she was forced to give birth in a plastic pool in the house so it would be easier to clean up. Berry said that none of the women -- or her 6-year-old child -- had ever been to a doctor during their captivity.

Yup. There's a bolt on my basement door, but it wouldn't take much to kick it out.

I can't understand how Amanda could only open the door to get her hand out and then Ramsey only had to knock out the bottom of the screen door to rescue her. Something is missing there.

Looking at a picture of Gina DeJesus' backyard on CNN right now. They put up a blue tarp so she can have some privacy in the back yard. I don't think that's gonna work well with Gina.

The ex-wife's family claims she died of injuries to her brain from Castro's beatings. The police should have been on his case a long time ago.

I feel sad for them all but it sounds like Michelle went from living in one hell to another. And her mother didn't look for her. I also heard on the news yesterday that at one point the girls were held in a basement room covered in their missing flyers. Can you imagine? I don't think Michelle's mother even put out any flyers for her and I am sure that monster made Michelle aware of that. I feel like I have been watching an episode of criminal minds! This just makes me physically ill, he is a monster.

Ohio man's ex-relatives say he is a 'monster'
CLEVELAND (AP) — The man accused of holding three women captive for a decade in his home terrorized the mother of his children, frequently beating her, playing twisted psychological games and locking her indoors in the years before their relationship disintegrated, her relatives say.

Several relatives of Grimilda Figueroa, who left Ariel Castro years ago and died last year after a long illness, painted a nightmarish portrait of Castro's family life as authorities made public horrifying details of the abuse endured by the imprisoned women.

I have to admit, I am lol'ing at what is happening on FB right now with the people who think this article is real.

Chris Brown Pays Ariel Castro's Bail

Singer Chris Brown paid Ariel Castro's bail today, saying the Cleveland kidnapper is a "misunderstood figure" who is being unfairly treated by the criminal justice system.

Castro was arraigned yesterday on charges of kidnapping and rape stemming from his abduction and decade-long captivity of three local women who escaped from his home earlier this week.

His bond was set at $8 million in an effort to ensure he remained locked up during his trial. Castro got some unexpected help today, however, when a lawyer for Brown arrived in Cleveland and put up the 10% deposit required for his release.

"I just wanted to help a brother out," says Brown, who is noted for his misogynistic life philosophy. "This Castro guy is a complicated figure, and not all he did was bad. I got cash to spare, so why not?

"So far these are just allegations. He hasn't been convicted of anything. And even if we assume he's guilty, these charges have been way overblown by the media."
    Two Rebels

According to legal experts, Brown paying $800,000 in bail doesn't guarantee Castro's release. Prosecutors may charge Castro with additional crimes in hopes of increasing his bail and preventing that outcome.

"There's no way we're letting him out," says one source close to the prosecution. "No matter how much money Chris Brown puts up, we'll think of something."

But in an exclusive interview, Brown says keeping Castro behind bars indefinitely would be a mistake.

"No one has heard his side of the story," he explains. "He gave those three young ladies free food, clothing, and room and board for 10 years. That's like a $100,000 value each. You never hear the media talk about that.

"Look, I don't agree with everything he did. Some of these allegations are just terrible. But no one's talking about the possibility that this all could have been a setup.

"In my experience, you can't trust females. I don't care if it's your wifey or just some ho you meet at a club - women always be lying. We don't know what really happened. We're just listening to what the media wants us to hear."

Indeed it is Brown's own history of negative media coverage which he claims drives his sympathy or Castro.

"I know what its like for the media to take one tiny little domestic dispute and blow it all out of proportion," he points out. "So I got your back Ariel. Don't let them females get you down brother."

Brown's attorney, Saul Goodman of Albuquerque, N.M., says he will also be henceforth representing Castro at Brown's expense.

"It's gonna be challenging," says Goodman, "but I'm used to dealing with some rough characters."

Seriously, all obviousness aside, Chris Brown is way too selfish to pay anyone's bail.

I can't stop thinking about the fact that Michele was captive for my entire adult life, since I was 17. Amanda since I was 18, and Gina since I was 19. Like...putting that into perspective. I'm thinking about allllll that I've seen, done, experienced in those years, all the trivial bullshit I whined about, and there these three were.

I've really been focused on the whole 'hero aspect' of Charles, cause the crime(s) committed are really just too fucking horrible to think about.

But let's be honest, Charles could only be an eyewitness and he'd get more airtime than the fireman/cop that kicked a door down.

I mean, I've read more about Charles, but thought more about the ridiculously huge chunk of their lives that are just GONE. Michelle missed basically all of her 20s, the very decade of life I'm bitching about ending soon. At least I got to experience my twenties! Amanda missed her late teens and most of her twenties - graduating high school, going to college, making mistakes. And Gina missed like ALL of high school - all those stupid mistakes and happy times that eventually have a part in shaping who we become. Missed her early twenties, too. She never got to learn how to drive or go to a prom, take her SATs and apply to college.

I hope they can get through this, especially Michele, since I really think she's got the shittiest end of the shitty stick. She was captive the longest, already had issues, beaten so severely she needs reconstructive surgery and lost hearing, FIVE fucking miscarriages due to beatings and malnutrition, and to top it all off, you KNOW that bastard got off making her aware that people were still looking for Amanda and Gina, while no one had ever bothered looking for her.

The above graphic is NOT what the cartoon looks like at all. It is really pretty funny. I see they have a few of these based on news items.
