I couldn't agree more. As long as this person is around, she's going to be causing trouble. I realize the jurors are supposed to remain unbiased, etc., etc., but this has got to be pissing them off. If it's a matter of "competency," any evaluations will come back indicating that she's competent, we know that. All she's doing is exerting as much control as she can for as long as she can. It's to be expected and, as infuriating as it is, all she's really doing is spinning her wheels (or whatever she's got going on up in there), wasting everyone's time & just delaying the inevitable. I mean, the end of her is in sight - she's going to do everything she can to prolong the agony for everyone. But the end result is the end result and there's nothing she can do to change that. Whatever it is, it's coming. Just like tomorrow [U]isn't[U] for Travis.

As another poster has mentioned on this thread, I want it done and I want it done now, but that's not gonna happen. Wah! Sosososososo damn infuriating...

Apparently there was a bomb threat made via twitter but they have apprehended the man who made it.

This may not be very popular of me to say but here goes. I disagree with them taking all her commissary money. She obviously had funds in there received from family, friends, JAII nuts and from the sale of her "art" and "panties". If they could take away the amount they feel was from the art and panties and leave the rest would be appropriate. The things they buy in the commissary are at less than cost and $50 would go a long way. If her mom puts $ in there for her to buy shampoo, snacks or other basic needs, should be left there. If I put a hard earned $50 in a relative's account -- it doesn't mean I think they are innocent or that I disagree with the verdict. It means I believe as human beings we can at least agree even the lowest of lows deserve a bar of soap now and then. Otherwise we would not be any better than those third world prisons. We are Americans. Now don't go twistin' my words....I am not saying she should have luxuries of any kind.

Commissary items are LUXURIES. Indigent people without "money on their books" get perks that people with money don't get. From my experience in a different institution, indigent people even got two free stamped envelopes a week, along with free pencils, paper, toothbrushes, soap, and even socks - and probably other stuff too. I just want you to understand that ALL commissary monies are PURELY LUXURIES, which you stated you didn't think she should have luxuries of any kind, so I'm glad it's not your decision.

I looked up indigent inmates in Maricopa County and they even get free eye glasses. So, don't worry - they aren't treating her like a third-world prisoner - she's living better than a lot of homeless people in the US right now.
