Psychic Sylvia Browne has issued a statement nearly a decade after falsely predicting that kidnapping victim Amanda Berry was dead.
On her website on May 8, Browne wrote: “If ever there was a time to be grateful and relieved for being mistaken, this is that time. Only God is right all the time. My heart goes out to Amanda Berry, her family, the other victims and their families.”
On May 8, Good Morning America reported that back in 2004 the now-76-year old psychic told Berry’s mother, Louwanna Miller, that her daughter was dead. During an appearance on "The Montel Williams Show,” Browne said, "She's not alive, honey. Your daughter's not the kind who wouldn't call."
Now that Berry has been found alive after being rescued from a Cleveland home on Monday, Brown has come under fire.
This isn’t the first time Browne has been proven wrong in a high profile child kidnapping case.
In 2003,she told the parents of missing teen Shawn Hornbeck that their son was dead, and even gave clues as to where his body could be found. A 2003 “Montel Williams Show” transcript posted on CNN reveals that Browne told Craig and Pam Akers their son’s body could be found within a 20 mile radius of their home.
“Strange enough, there are two jagged boulders, which look really misplaced. Because everything is trees, and then all of a sudden, you've got these stupid boulders sitting there…. He's near the boulders,” she said.
When Pam Akers asked if her son was “still with us,” Browne replied, “No.”
When Hornbeck was found alive four year later, Browne told The New York Daily News, "I'm terribly sorry that this happened, but I think my body of work stands by itself. I've broken case after case. I think it's cruel to jump on this one case in which I was wrong."
Charged one, but not the other two? Seeing the size of the house that all three lived in, you're going to tell me the other two didn't know about three women and child that were in the same house?
Cleveland man charged with kidnapping, rape; no charges for 2 brothers
By Erin McClam, Staff Writer, NBC News
The Cleveland man charged with holding three women captive for a decade impregnated one of them five times and punched her in the stomach until she miscarried, police said Wednesday in a chilling report on the kidnappings.
The man forced one of his captives, Michelle Knight, to deliver the baby of another captive, Amanda Berry, in a kiddie pool, and threatened to kill Knight if the baby died, police said.
Police made the revelations in a report that laid out a nightmarish captivity, including starvation and imprisonment in the basement. One official said the women apparently were allowed outside the house only twice, and briefly, in the years after they were captured.
The Cleveland city prosecutor charged the man, Ariel Castro, with four counts of kidnapping ? one for each of the three women and one for a baby that was born to Berry six years ago. Castro was also charged with three counts of rape for each of the adult women.
But authorities filed no charges against two of Castro?s brothers who were arrested Monday night, after Berry escaped the house with the help of a neighbor and the other two women were freed.
Authorities said they had no evidence that the two brothers, Pedro and Onil Castro, were involved in the kidnappings.
The three captives ? Berry, Knight and Gina DeJesus ? were allowed only in the backyard when they were let outdoors at all, and were forced to wear wigs and sunglasses when they left the house, the report said.
The escape came on Monday, when Castro went to McDonald?s and left a ?big inside door? unlocked, the report said. That was when Berry broke through a locked storm door, afraid to open it further because she worried that Castro was testing her, the report said. Berry made it out and called 911.

When I lived in Scotland, I lived with this gay guy. We had a two bedroom house and there was one room, that to this day, I still have NO idea what was in there. It was always locked from the day I moved in and I never saw him go in or out of there. I never cared enough to ask or investigate. My friends all joked and called it the 'gimp' room.
I know it's odd, but if it was sound proof and insulated etc, it could possibly have happened?
ETA - I lived in the house for over 18 months.

Ariel Castro was today charged with four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape after he allegedly confessed to abducting three young women and holding them captive in his home for ten years.
The Castro brothers will not be charged with anything in connection with the kidnapping of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight, police said, as there is no evidence to connect them with these crimes.
It was also revealed in the press conference that Ariel Castro waived his Miranda rights and provided a detailed statement to police. He claimed there are no more victims.
In the press conference this afternoon, police chief Ed Tomba said the women did not have any opportunity to escape and had only been outside the house twice in the last ten years.
'We were told they left the house and went into the garage in disguise. They never left the property.'
He said the first time they had been outside the house was on Monday when they managed to escape.
'The first time they have been outside the house in ten years was when they escaped from the house' he said.
He said Castro had been cooperating fully with police and had made a detailed statement having read his rights
It was revealed on Tuesday that Ariel had written a suicide note which was found inside the home where he kept three young women captive for the last ten years.
The note allegedly outlined what he did and why he did it. He talks about having a sex addiction and needing help because of family problems and a poor childhood.
Incredulously, he also puts blame on the victims for getting into the car with him on the day he ruthlessly snatched them off the street, according to WOIO.
Horrible details have begun to emerge about what the girls may have been forced to endure over the last decade at the hands of their captors.

I think a lot of neighbors are making shit up now to get news attention.
Sylvia Brown is a fucking idiot. My favorite still is when this chick was on the show and asked about her dad.
Sylvia: I'm sensing a body was never recovered.
Girl: No.
Sylvia: I'm sorry, honey, but he drowned. The tide washed him out.
Girl: I really don't think so.
Sylvia: yes, I am certain. He fell in a river and drowned.
Girl: No.
Sylvia: I see it very clearly.
Girl: He died on 911. He was in one of the towers.
Sylvia: ....
Sylvia: Well I still see him drowning. Maybe he fell in a puddle or something.
I feel bad for the brothers if they had no knowledge of what was going on.
Michelle told the law enforcement source that Ariel Castro offered her a ride home that fateful day in August 2002 while she was on West 106th Street and Lorain Avenue.
Instead, Castro took Michelle to his house, the source said.
Amanda Berry told the law enforcement source that Castro also offered her a ride home, telling her that his son worked at Burger King so dropping her off there wouldn't be a problem.
Berry became his next kidnapping victim.
Castro reportedly used the same approach with Gina DeJesus on West 105th Street and Lorain Avenue -- only Gina knew Castro's daughter and felt it was OK to get inside his vehicle. Castro told Gina he would give her a ride to his house to meet up with his daughter, who never came to the Seymour Avenue home.
Amanda said Joyclen didn't know Michelle or Gina's real names in case they were out at a public place, like a park, so people wouldn't know what was going on.
A description of Castro and his vehicle were provided which led to the alleged abductor's arrest at a nearby McDonald's.
When approached by authorities, the source also said Castro asked if the arrest was about his brother Pedro Castro who was at their mother's house. The source said Pedro was then taken into custody. Another brother, Onil, was arrested hours later.

Fuck this guy. He blames a sex addiction? No. A sex addiction did not make you kidnap 3 girls and hold them as sex slaves, beating them, torturing them and raping them. While you may have a sex addiction, do not blame it. Addictions do not give you a free pass, you are still accountable for your actions. It's like an alcoholic saying "I drove drunk because I'm an alcoholic." Uh, no. You may have drank because you're an alcoholic, and you may have had impaired judgement that lead to your DUI however you still have accountability for those actions.
This is also probably going to bring out a lot of talking heads regarding sex addictions and incorrect information is going to be flying around.
Goddamn. I'm imagining what it'd be like to have this happen in my neighbourhood. That's some crazy haunting shit.![]()

They just set bond for the one guy. 8 million.
The two brothers did not look happy to be standing next to their brother at all. No charges were filed against them, and the police were holding them from an open container from 12 years ago.
Prosecutors brought no charges Wednesday against Ariel Castro's two brothers, who were arrested along with him on Monday, saying there was no evidence to support they had anything to do with the kidnapping of three Cleveland girls.

CLEVELAND - Now-Internet sensation Charles Ramsey was not the only person to help break down the door of a Seymour Avenue house, freeing three missing women.
“I helped her and I was first,” Angel Cordero told NewsChannel5’s Stephanie Ramirez in Spanish.
On Monday, Ramsey, Cordero and other neighbors in a west side neighborhood of Cleveland helped Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight escape. The women had disappeared in separate cases about a decade ago.
“Ramsey arrived after she was outside with the girl,” Cordero said. “But the truth who arrived there, who crossed the street, who came and broke the door, it was me.”
Wintel Tejeda, who lives across the street from the suspect’s house, said others helped and when Berry came out, they gave her a phone.
“She was able to call police from my house,” Tejeda said in Spanish.
Now with Ramsey’s interview making headlines, both men said they’re not jealous.
“I did what had to be done. I helped her,” Cordero said. “They have their daughter, daughters are safe over there.”
Michelle Knight told authorities she was pregnant at least 5 times and Castro would starve her for 3 weeks and punch her in the stomach. -- CNN
