I was wondering the same thing earlier. I thought upon conviction, the cuffs go on and she is transported back to jail. Guess I don't know shit when it comes to that. Hope she shows up in prison issued wears tomorrow.Originally Posted by dizzyp

I was thinking she's just an idiot, but the DP would (hopefully) be 15 years of SOLITARY CONFINEMENT. LWOP, she'd make lifelong friends, watch television, play games, might even party and take drugs, etc. Have a job in the kitchen or laundry and her time would go fast, and after a while, she'd get used to it and make the best of it.
I want the Death Penalty so badly for her, not because I want her to die, because I agree it would be a freedom she wouldn't deserve. I want DP for the fact that her time would be solitary and much, much more miserable. If there was an option for Solitary Confinement for Life without Parole, I'd vote for that.
Since she is such a bad person, we should revoke her ability for appeals.

The morning started off quite calmly. Got there early enough, (9:30 a.m.) to get the eighth place chair in the waiting area in the event that a verdict came in and members of the public might be admitted to the proceedings. A very nice gentleman, connected to Legal Shield, Travis Alexander's former Company, was in spot seven. He gave it up for me, so I got promoted. It looked like I was a lock to get in on any proceedings and I anticipated having lots of first-hand, (but rushed) impressions to convey to you guys. It was a dull morning 'till approximately 11:30 a.m. when the shock came. A Verdict! Don't know where the announcement came from! We just suddenly knew. A couple of minutes later, we got the news that the verdict would be read at 1:30 p.m. About a half hour later bad news came. There would be no room for members of the public in the courtroom. Only family and Press could be accommodated. Nevertheless, we hung onto our places in hopes that that news was just a rumor and some of us would get seats inside for the reading of the Verdict. Shortly, he fifth floor began to gradually fill up with new people arriving. During all of this time, there was a jury selection process for another trial going on and a large number of prospective jurors carrying orange cards were mixed in with the increasing numbers of newly arriving Arias Trial spectators filling the hallway and waiting areas outside the four courtrooms. Everything went off smoothly. Everybody was experiencing an emotional moment--a quickening of the pulse--a sense of rising tension--and many spoke of it to each other. I ventured the thought that my observation of the Juror's jovial banter and demeanor while boarding the elevator at the end of the previous day, could indeed be read as an indication that they had been relieved of their burden and had pretty well agreed on a decision. Today seems to have borne that out. The Jurors re-convened this morning at ten--probably for the formality of casting their final votes--then informed the judge of their Verdict. By 11:30 a.m., their work in the Guilt Phase of the Trial was done. What remained was the formalities of the courtroom rituals and the reactions of Travis's family and thousands of people around the world who, for almost five years, had been waiting to hear their unanimous Verdict. Jodi Arias is Guilty of First Degree Premeditated Murder!
Minutes after the news that a Verdict had been reached, and would be read in Court at 1:30 p.m., Sheriff's officers proceeded to clear members of the public, from the end of the hallway just outside the Arias Trial courtroom. Still, we hung in at the other end! At about 1:00 p.m., one of the officers announced that there were no seats available in the courtroom for even one member of the Public. All were all taken by Press, Court Officials, Family and Friends. Everyone else was directed to vacate the fifth floor completely. It has been a feature of this trial that while members of the Public are invited to see their Justice being done, they are not welcome. Court Officials speak only of 'controlling' members the public and never mention 'accommodating' them--not even in the hallway.
We, (the fifth-floor evictees) trooped outside into the crowd that had gathered in front of the courthouse and we blended in. People were fairly tightly packed at the bottom and sides of the stairs. Some shouted "Justice for Travis." News of the verdict reached the crowd in just seconds and shouts of "Murder 1" "Premeditated Murder" "Guilty" went back and forth. A couple of thank Gods were mixed in there with lots of cheering and fist pumping. Then the media took over and it was all their game as people jostled to get on TV or snare an interview. I tried to learn only one thing. "Did a Sheriff's Deputy step up behind Arias and handcuff her at the moment immediately after the Guilty verdict was entered by the Judge?" I couldn't find anyone who knew. I later learned no one did.
You'll see a lot of the performances on TV for the rest of the day. Thise who were watching online got a better view of the climactic events than those of us at the courthouse. Some people down there seemed to take the verdict as a personal vindication and there were lots of tears and hugs. There is a paradox in the fact that the coldly rational processes of a trial, produce such an irrational response. However, there is pride to be taken in the process. The System honed in on the truth with laser-like precision; Justice prevailed; the People felt it and, for a while, they celebrated it. There is nothing rational about murder. With Chaotic savagery, Jodi Arias stabbed Travis Alexander 27 times, slit his throat almost through to the spine and shot him in the face. She was caught and will be punished and Order will be restored to the lives of all who survived her destruction--whoever they may be. That's worth celebrating out loud.
In her first television interview, Jodi Arias said, "No Jury will ever convict me because I am innocent. You can mark my words on that." Today they demonstrated her how wrong she was. The Jurors did mark her words and dismissed every one of them as a lie.
The Aggravation Phase of the trial commences tomorrow, May 9, 2013, at 1 p.m. It is the next step on the pathway to Death Row.

I don't care if Jodi ever gets the needle or not, I want more than that is for her to serve on Death Row. That would be hard on her to not have control over people and she would have no one to manipulate. Alone in a small cell, meals handed thru a door slot. Can only go outside 3x a week for a couple hours at a time. If she is in general population she can continue to use her wiles to get what she wants from other inmates. She could compete in Jail Idol, take classes like yoga and foreign languages and do girlie stuff like playing with different ways to create make up, do each other's hair. I want her to be in miserable Death Row.

I am also very surprised they let her talk to anyone. Then again, this is probably what all the screaming was about, in the hallway, after the verdict. Nurmi and Wilmott were probably advising her to SHUT her fucking trap, for a change. And I can just imagine her going hogwild and hollering that THEY had screwed up her case, and she was gonna do whatever she wanted to do. That is the only way she sat for an interview, after this. And the "fog" is still there. Not a word of "I am so sorry"......it's all about what SHE wants?

When asked why she thought so many people were against her, she replied that a psychologist once told her that people feel the need to persecute someone because it makes them feel better about themselves, and that explains why so many people are against her.

This is probably why people were saying she was arguing with her attorneys. She was doing this interview no matter what they said.
I am baffled that she would DO it in the first place?! every trial I've seen the cuffs go on right away.. most of the time they don't allow any family contact which JA got today as well. For some reason they are pampering her. It stinks.
