The cousin, Tina Miller, is friends with the above sister on FB and her page is pretty open. She has a picture with a brief story about a local news reporter who has been covering the story for years. The mother of Amanda gave him a suit before she died and told him to wear it when they find her daughter. The pic is of him wearing the suit. Pretty cool.
So a few things.
1) that little girl looks just like the kidnapper and Its a good thing the mom seems to love her because its like looking into the face of her attacker. Kids of course are never to blame for something like this, but it happens quite a bit.
2)on the reports of the little girl playing by herself in the park. I guess you dont have to really worry about kidnappers when You ARE the neighborhood kidnapper.
3)Um Wtf to that age progression photo? why in the hell would she have 2 toned hair? was he also keeping a stylist in there? fail.
4) I dont know what to feel about the police failure on this. I mean, Im glad we live in a country where someone saying you look suspect doesnt give police a right to bust down your door and search, But the fact that there were at least a few of the same kind of calls about the same guy, Wouldnt that at least give them some sort of reason to do something? I know they banged on the door and got no answer, and your arent really allowed to go rooting through peoples backyards and homes unless you have a warrant, but couldnt something more have been done? talk to the neighbors maybe? Put someone on watch for at least a couple of days? I dont know, Im not a cop and no very little about procedures, but it seems that there has to be something.
5) Charles is awesome. He deserves some free mcdonalds for life, but Im wondering if thats more of a punishment than a reward. I hope the city does something for him and that he does receive some kind of payday from the attention. In new mexico we had a guy in our neighborhood witness a kidnapping and phoned the police on his cell while following the guy in his vehicle. they gave him a key to the city and his own day. I think its sweet he wants to give the reward money to the victims. Im guessing he will be compensated by life. People in that town are gonna treat that man right for at least a little while.
6) And this is the one that makes me angry. Sylvia Friggen Browne should be hung by her ankles and stoned for telling that girls mother she was dead. In my opinion, she caused that womans death. Heart failure. That to me means she didnt have hope. her heart was broken. That piece of shit took every ounce of hope this woman had left and she felt no reason to go on. People die of sadness and broken hearts all the time. Old couples will go less than a year apart. When my grandfather died of cancer, my Grandmother went shortly after their anniversary that she spent alone. She was in good health. ate right, walked 3 miles a day and only in her 60s. her heart just quit working and I know its because she missed him so much. I know Amandas mother had other ailments, but hope keeps people alive. she had none. Sylvia Browne is a killer in my book. Screw her.

Funny you say that. My friend shared that article and I responded with this: I'm on the fence with this one. Laughing at Charles isn't cool, but all those morons that were cooning over a fucking tree Leprechaun deserve to be laughed at.
Only thing I disagree with about this is people saying she died of a broken heart. False. She had heart issues, and since she didn't have hope, she didn't care enough to fight to live.
It's semantics, but it still annoys me a little bit.
Charles is like my brother and the old-timers who sat on my stoop in harlem. Straight up good guys.
well, Thats kinda what I said. I dont think she just up and died cuz she was sad. She had pancreas issues and other stuff. I just think her will to live was lost. If you dont have that, you wont get better. Ive heard of people hanging on by a weak ass thread for a long ass time. she just didnt care anymore. If I thought my kid was dead, I wouldnt even look both ways before crossing the street. she took that womans last shred of anything.
Makes me fucking SICK to think anyone could be saying anything beyond praising this guy for following his gut instinct and getting involved, because he really did not know what he was getting into when he first kicked in that door. He was brave beyond belief, and I can only imagine what a living saint this man became for the women and child he helped to free. Thank God for him, and may blessings of good karma rain on him for the rest of his life. Those women banded together and survived this living hell, and they will forever be bonded in soul with this hero of a man, who answered their plea for help.
I love many of the benefits that the internet has given us, but one thing I do not particulary care for is how it makes you disgustingly aware through facebook, twitter, forums, etc of how many assholes there are out there though. I am sure they were always out there, but it is more difficult to be naive about that now. I'm sure being able to be somewhat anonymous when they turn up your assholery a notch doesn't help either.
i don't see it as people laughing at ramsey. he said some funny shit that was meant to be laughed at and he knew it. it shows he's awesome.
we live at in a time where everything is being filmed. if you go on camera, you're asking to become a meme, no matter who you are. ramsey is different because he's not trying to get on tv - he kinda has to because he's the hero... but you know he's got a sense of humor by listening to him.
i also think he needs some counseling. i see so many emotions in his eyes when he's giving these recent interviews. it almost made me cry! he's in a bit of shock.
Also, I am sure he is still in a state of shock, just trying to process what has played out in his life over the last day or two. And, to have to do that, with cameras and reporters being shoved in your face makes that all the more overwhelming. In my eyes, he's an angel on earth.
Gina is about to arrive home at the same link from Amanda above...
I never try anything, I just do it. Wanna try me?
Both of these. I don't understand why some Black people are embarrassed or outraged over "who" Charles is. He's fucking amazing! What is the hate over? He's missing a tooth? He busts his ass in a menial job? He eats ribs and said testicle on the air? He helped a non-Black?
THESE ARE REASONS I LOVE CHARLES!
Fuck all the haters. I hope they are never kidnapped, physically, emotionally, sexually abused, forced to live between walls chained up, never to be let out, and who knows what else. If it were to happen, they better hope there is a Charles in their neighborhood.
Fuckers. Why they gotta be poopybuttheads?!

According to this FB group, the little girls name is Jocelyn.
i think what you're saying is that the funny black witnesses seem to give fodder to white racists and that makes some black people angry?
but ron, there are stupid people of all races that make that race look bad... honey boo-boo, leave brittney alone, the asian guy from american idol. it's funny stuff.
racist people will make fun of a black person for saying, 'hello, may i help you?' it doesn't matter if the person is low income and illiterate or has a degree and is president.
these people are just being themselves. often times, you'll find it's the stupidest people who seek out the spotlight - they gravitate to the camera and the news people know that anyone coming to them to comment are either going to give an awesome performance or be boring as shit. the funny shit makes the news because it's entertaining and emotional.
can't blame the internet for enjoying something that was intended to be enjoyed.
eta: in case anyone is wondering - i don't think ramsey is stupid. i think he is a hero.

Yea, I can't explain this to you.![]()
I'm sorry. Maybe if Peavey comes back she can do it. It's just too time consuming for me today. Maybe some other time?
ETA: Just saw I have a couple of minutes. It adds to the fodder, and that's frustrating. It's basically a minstrel show, and it's not like these people are tapdancing for dollars. They're giving the shit away for free. They're not in character, this is really them. It's like verification for every asshole.
Now, I'm, not naive enough to think that people will change their minds about things, but the shit can still feel embarrassing.
I realize that this is what you're dealing with: http://www.chimpout.com/forum/showth...ed-girls/page2
So it can be Sweet Brown, or the first black person to head Harvard's Law Review, you're still a monkey to them, so fuck it.
Did that help?
