The asshole 911 worker.....is it a guy or a woman? At first I thought it was a woman, then I listened again, and it sounded like a guy. Whoever it is needs retraining at their job.

The local stations have been reporting that there was RIP with a woman's name wrote on the basement walls.
Watching interviews with the neighbors...I am shocked. Many kids in the neighborhood have reported seeing naked women in the backyard (before the tarps were put in) naked women in the windows, little kids in windows, yelling or screaming coming from that house. The cops have went a few times, knocked and nobody answered, then they left never to return.
The first or second page of this thread had an article about Amanda & her last sighting at Burger King saying there was a report she was seen getting into a car with 3 men, but it was dismissed. The witness wasn't credible. Then her Mum got 2 calls from some guy claiming Amanda was married to him. They trace the calls & discover they're coming from her own phone - the one that disappeared with her. & they don't seem to have done anything else about it. Her mother must have been almost climbing out of her own skin with not knowing. All those missed chances just stun me. & there seem to be so many stories like this over the last 3 decades. But none where I'm from. Olivia might think of one to correct me, but I can't think of any. From the Bowraville kids to the Beaumont kids, ours never turn up alive & well.
EXCEPT -Leonard John Fraser?? He was found guilty of serial murders in QLD & one of his murder victims rang police during the sentencing phase (I think) of his fucking murder trial, to say "Ummm, oopsie. Been hiding with my boyfriend for YEARS. Mum & Dad were getting on my nerves. Saw all the missing posters & televised family pleas & then later I knew he was being tried for my murder but like, I'm Aliiiiive. Der. So like, I didn't think he could be found guilty, because like, I wasn't dead. Ummm I hope I haven't messed up for the girls he really killed. Oops"
She DID turn up alive & well. Not sure she stayed that way after her family found out she knew they thought she'd been murdered and she still didn't give the police missing persons line so much as a well-being check-in
& she doesn't count as an example anyway now that I think about it, because she was never abducted.
Anyway, back on topic. I hope whoever it was that reported Amanda getting into that car WITH 3 MEN is demanding a credibility

CLEVELAND - Cleveland officials are reviewing the actions of the 911 dispatcher who took Amanda Berry’s call.
Berry, who disappeared in 2003 at the age of 16, broke free from a Seymour Avenue house on Monday and called police. She told dispatchers she had been kidnapped and missing for 10 years.
“I’m here. I’m free now,” Berry said in the 911 call. “I’m Amanda Berry. I’ve been on the news for the last 10 years.”
The call-taker asked the name of Berry’s captor, as well as his age and ethnicity. But multiple times the dispatcher’s response was “Talk to the police when they get there.”

Cleveland Department of Public Safety Director Martin Flask said police were dispatched and on scene in the west side neighborhood in less than 2 minutes.
“While the call-taker complied with policies and procedures which enabled a very fast response by police, we have noted some concerns which will be the focus of our review, including the call-taker’s failure to remain on the line with Ms. Berry until police arrived on scene,” Flask said in a statement on Tuesday.
Flask said they will investigate the call and correction action will be taken, if necessary.

CLEVELAND - YouTube sensation Charles Ramsey, the man who helped rescue Amanda Berry from captivity, will now be emblazoned on a T-shirt.
Hodge’s in downtown Cleveland tweeted Monday night a photo of the shirt that has “Cleveland’s Hero Charles Ramsey” looping under a sketch of Ramsey’s now unforgettable face.

The restaurant said Ramsey’s desire is to help the young women and proceeds raised from the shirt will be donated.
The shirts are scheduled to go on sale Wednesday and will be printed by the company that made the “Boston Strong” and West Side Market tees.
Ramsey is an employee at the restaurant, according to a tweet Tuesday which expressed pride in him for not turning his back on the young women.

CLEVELAND - The mother of Michelle Knight, one of three Cleveland women found alive after being reported missing for more than 10 years, explains the last time she saw her daughter.
Our sister station, The Naples Daily News, interviewed Knight's mother Barbara who discussed the evening someone last saw her daughter.
Her mother said Knight, who was 21 when she went missing, was staying at a friend's house on Aug. 21, 2002. Barbara came to pick Knight up the next day for a court appearance involving a custody battle with her son, Joey, but the friend said Knight left to go to the store.
Barbara said she waited and worried for hours at the friend's house before going home and filing a missing person report with Cleveland police.
Knight's cellphone was stolen prior to her disappearance leaving her mother no way of trying to contact her.
Knight went missing from West 106th Street and Lorain Avenue on Aug. 22, 2002 and was found alive in a house on Seymour Avenue on May 6, 2013.
Barbara, who lives in Naples, Fla., couldn't believe what she was watching Monday night on the news. She said at first she didn't believe it was her daughter because "she couldn't see her face."
Still, there is no one photo available of Knight.
Barbara is on her way to Cleveland.

CLEVELAND - New information was released Tuesday about Michelle Knight, one of the three missing women found alive in a Cleveland home.
NewsChannel5 obtained the missing person report for Knight filed Aug. 23, 2002. She was 21 at the time.
The report said Knight, who went by the nickname “Shorty,” has a mental condition that causes her to often be confused about her surroundings.
She was last seen at her cousin’s house at West 106th Street and Lorain Avenue. Standing at 4-feet 7-inches tall, Knight had been missing for two days when police were called. She was wearing blue shorts, white T-shirt and glasses.
Officers checked the hospital, the morgue and a relative’s house – but Knight was nowhere to be found.
Detectives conducted follow-ups in the case – in May and November of 2003 – but no one had seen Knight. Police noted similar checks in 2004, 2006 and 2012 that resulted in no new leads.
Then after more than a decade, Knight – along with Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus – were rescued from a house on Seymour Avenue on Cleveland’s near west side Monday night.
With Knight's mental abnormalities remarked in the police report, it's of note that near the time of DeJesus’ disappearance in April 2004, NewsChannel5 reported that she was a special education student at Wilbur Wright Middle School.
Their suspected captors, brothers Ariel, Pedro and Oneil Castro – were arrested Monday night. All are in police custody awaiting charges.
On Monday after the announcement of the finding of the women, Knight’s brother told NewsChannel5’s Tracy Carloss he was shocked but so happy his sister is OK.
Knight and the other women were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center to get checked out, and then released Tuesday morning into the FBI’s care. Police said all three women are in good health.

Shouldn't there be one with the original missing file? Or does this mean her family didn't ever provide pics? Not even for an online missing profile? That's fucked up. I don't think I've seen a missing profile from the last 20yrs without pics?? I hope this is some kind of bureaucratic screwup & not a family one.

I am so very sad for Michelle Knight. Given that she has learning disabilities or a mental disorder or atypical neurodevelopment, her road to recovery will much longer and harder. I have no words.

She must be tinier now. The special ed & small size make me wonder if she was an extreme premmie baby. But it could be any number of things unrelated to size. This story is SO great. But this story is SO fucked.

I thought that 911 operator was really rude and I have since become more incensed about it. @Berm -- thanks for the info about his/her being reviewed by the department. "Talk to the police when they get there." ??? That was deplorable. They are supposed to stay on the line till help gets there. Maybe because Amanda sounds so young on the phone?? No excuse. When Amanda kept saying I am Amanda Berry and I have been kidnapped for 10 years and I have been on the news and this 911 person says "Yeah, I got that", made me sick to my stomach. At least the 911 did dispatch right away instead of waiting as they implied they were going to do was the only thing he did right. Yes he/she needs disciplinary action!

Yeah, if you take away the health, happiness & nutrition the computer-generated one assumed, then I think it's close. Think of it like twins split at birth. One gets all she needs to live happy & well, the other lives in hell on earth.
Charles Ramsey is an amazing person. He is so genuine. The interview with Anderson Cooper tugged at my heartstrings. He says to give the $$ to the women with such sincerity. May God Bless him and his family.

Sounds like they assumed it was a hoax. He/she probably wanted the car there fast to bust her for wasting police time - like the guy who had them digging for her body a year or so earlier. They probably thought they had her totally busted when she "admitted" she wasn't at the address she was reporting. I dunno, maybe that operator is usually excellent & they'd just hung up on an obvious faker before this call. It wouldn't be an excuse, but it could explain the attitude. If not, & there's nothing to explain it but attitude, then no retraining is going to fix that & they really need to reconsider their employment choices. Maybe a debt collection call centre might be a more appropriate choice? They'll be rewarded for snarkiness there!
