    1. They're young men. And let's face it. Boys SMELL FUNNY!
    2. The dog crapped all over the house normally. I mean, ALL OVER THE HOUSE! Can you imagine the crap that was accumulating during those 5 days?
    3. They're renters. They didn't investigate. Obviously they didn't want to have to clean up what wasn't their problem.
    4. They might have smelled it, but never attributed the smell to anything but a weird smell. They both had never smelled a dead body.
    5. The arid climate caused Travis' body to mummify. That plus the air conditioning. The smell wasn't that strong until they opened Travis' bedroom door.

In summation, I do believe that they will probably never forget that smell as long as they live and I'm sure anyone who was living in that house during that time is in therapy for life over it. I have never seen TV interviews of the roommates. This is probably because the first question everyone has is "Didn't you SMELL anything?!?!?!"

    What a nightmare.
I'm curious how you know the dog crapped all over the house normally...

Also, Enrique was gone a lot of the day at work, taking public transportation back and forth. And, they thought he had already left for Cancun. I also believe that Enrique had only been there for a few weeks, so, he wasn't familiar that much with the household and Travis' comings and goings. And it's possible they thought the smell was from the dog making a mess in the house, or that some animal was deceased in the attic or behind the walls.

At a former home, we had gotten mice and squirrels in the attic, and the exterminator had set out poison. It's possible for animals to end up deceased in crawl spaces, between walls, etc. So, for all the roommates knew, that was the reason.
My parents had a rat die in the wall of their house. When you walked into the house there was a faint yucky smell, when you got to the back of the house (where it was) the smell was awful! But your nose would get used to it pretty quickly.

I've often wondered if she showed at his house with her usual tiresome suicide threats and he tried to soothe her with sex since that's all they had left.
Good point. She told the jury that she had to soothe Travis with sex, I bet it was the other way around.
After listening to the Christ Hughes radio interview, I think she might have threatened suicide to Travis several times, including the day she killed him in order to get into his house, etc.
My thought as to why Travis would continue to fall for that kind of thing, might be his childhood- he probably learned some bad relationship traits from his parents.

That info was widely reported in the beginning. The dog had even crapped on one of the renter's mattress and Travis flipped the mattress before the renter saw it. Mimi also reported that the dog wasn't potty trained.

Travis didn't let her in. She stated more than once she knew the garage code, let herself in and stood watching him until the dog noticed her. Dog wouldn't bark because he knew her.

I can just imagine the jurors, now finally able to discuss the trial among themselves, going round and round recalling each and every lie from Jodi that they caught, having a good laugh in between lies. All these pent-up emotions and thoughts building over the past months that they are finally able to release and discuss. I think after two or three days of just talking about what they had to endure, they will be ready to get down to business and go through each jury instruction, one by one.

Once they decide that anything that came out of Jodi's mouth can't be relied on, they will simply concentrate on the physical evidence and collaborating witness statements. It shouldn't be long to come to a verdict after that.

Yea, almost everything negative jodi claims travis did, I have come to the conclusion that most likely the perpetrator was probably her and she just flipped the story

I've always been confused about that. I remember her saying she was standing watching him when he was on his computer. But obviously she had to have said something to get him to let her stay, since she stayed for another 10 or so hours before she killed him. She SAYS they didn't have sex when she first got there. But we know we can't believe anything she says too.

I disagree about the dog not barking because he knew her. My BF has dogs that go crazy when i come over to his house.

I have a feeling that they didn't have sex when she got there as roommates were about to get up for work. She said they went to sleep then woke up and had sex. I still think she set up the camera took the pics of herself while Travis was asleep and then climbed aboard as it were. Travis woke up to find he was already engaged in the act. Jodi probably never told him the camera was on... and to get him to do the pic where he gives the peace sign or whatever, she said something to him and he did that to acknowledge her before he went back to sleep. This gave her time to go to car get the knife, gun etc once the roommate left so he wouldn't see her. Remember it shows someone was on the computer at 4 something that afternoon. I bet she found something on his computer she didn't like. He got up and got in the shower and she went in and began to take pics, again it took him a couple minutes to realize what she was doing, and that explains the startled, almost afraid look in his eyes when he turned around. She talked him into posting like that silly movie Psycho, and he went along just to get rid of the crazy woman. She was using his camera so he probably planned to delete the pics. Once he was sitting with his leg crossed in that confining shower space, with water in his face and camera flash blinding him, she stabbed him. Sorry for the book long post. Just my opinion of course...

Well, to be fair, Napoleon was very spoiled. Sometimes man-made dogs (like pugs) are a bit hard to teach anything to and hard to potty train. I have a frenchie (he's my avatar). Luckily, he was easy to potty train. But, I never could teach him to roll over. I tried for years. My poodle is a brainiac in comparison. Although.... my frenchie is adorable!

Yuck, I didn't want to go here, but I've had an experience with 3+ day old death smell (yes, I realize it was 5 days for Travis). When I was 17, I had a friend who was living with an older couple. The man had gone to jail, and my friend came over and told me, my brother, my friend, and a couple of other people that he thought his female roommate was dead. She hadn't come out of her room for days. He went in, but saw that she was naked. He asked me and my female friend if we could go over and check to see if she was dead. So we all went over, we got in the house. He showed us her room, so me and my friend went in there. At this point I couldn't smell anything wrong. I got up to the body, checked to see if she was breathing. She had vomited and was obviously dead. We covered her up, and as we walked out of the room, that was the first time I actually smelled anything. Everyone else said they could smell it when we walked in the house or when we opened the door. For whatever reason, I didn't. She had been there for days, at least 3, and I didn't smell it. As sick as it sounds, I can understand that the roommates probably smelled something, but didn't know enough to realize it was blood and death. I would imagine the blood would have created the most odor. I'm sure as soon as Travis's door opened, it filled the house, and likely stuck in the house long after Travis was taken, and the murder scene clean.
    :o)

Do you see how we are all still discussing this stuff even though some of you have been posting on this for years? Can you imagine what it's like for the jury when they have only been free to talk for a short time?

Everything she had banked on -- wealth and privilege -- were being taken away from her by one man. She felt she deserved it. She converted. She joined 'the business'. She let him and encouraged him to use her body. In exchange, she was supposed to get the big commitment, and with it, the money, the cars, the house, the vacations, the prestige.

Travis was slowly taking that away from her, and that was it. When he got so angry at the end of May, she knew he had to die. He was going to tell people about how she used him for money and sex, and if that got out, her power over people would end. So she ended him first.
I agree. He gave her a lot, she took advantage of that man o man. Once she saw what he all had, money, cars, house, vacations, title.....etc she felt entitled, and she was obsessed. She told Sky Huges said Jodi told her in Nov2006 before they began dating that she had a vision that she was going to marry Travis in the temple. She plotted the second he introduced himself it seems.

    She is evil.

We've been talking about this trial for months. Every day.

We've got to be patient and let these jurors get this trial off their chests and out of their systems. Give them time. They have been through a horrible experience. It's no wonder they don't suffer from PTSD.

They will do the right thing. Let's give them time.

Agree. My roommate has 3 dogs. I've lived here since Sept. and they always bark when I come through the front door. They also jump all over me, as if they haven't seen me in forever. They do the same to my roommate who has had the dogs about 3 years.

Oops I meant to reply to the first post I quoted. From Mochachino:

I remember it being brought up during the trial that Travis had allegedly had money troubles. I believe he may have either refinanced or had been trying to refinance the house. I have no doubt that a big part of that reason was Jodi.

There's a hold out. They've had enough time to discuss what they've seen if they were all on the same page. I just hope they are firm enough to make the hold out SEE the evidence.

I am SO sorry to hear you went through this. What a horrible memory! You can explain then why they didn't think it was anything. If you hadn't smelled something like that before you wouldn't know. I only have rodent experience. I didn't think of the blood smell on top of his body. It was everywhere in there. No wonder stabby moved Napoleon's gate down the stairs.
