Does the jury HAVE to dress up for a verdict? I never heard that before.
Not like they dressed for court period... flip flops, tee shirts shorts?
I always heard one should dress for court regardless of circumstances. Just seems like the forum to dress up. I know I did for my traffic court. Overdressed lol. We dress for church too. No jeans, sneakers.

The theory is that jurors dress up on the day they give the verdict especially when there is a huge media circus going on. It's for the interviews afterwards

Not necessarily true. Usually, on the day of the verdict, the jury is safely escorted out the back door and away from the media. They don't often come out to talk to the media at that time....especially in this kind of high profile/highly charged trial.

In this case, though, they still have the penalty phase - so I don't think they can talk to media until that is done....

I thought I heard Beth Karas say the jury wanted a readback of some testimony. She could have been speculating, I was just walking into the room. Beth Karas doesn't usually speculate much, but I missed the context of her comment.

Martinez showed up and left. The defense's mitigation specialist arrived at the courthouse a short time ago though I don't see her on the 5th floor. Others upnhere also saw Willmott but I didn't see her. #jodiarias

People keep asking Beth what the jurors are wearing. But she's not telling LOL.

WAT said most were dressed down. I'm not sure if it matters or not. ?
Well some seem to think if the jurors are dressed up, it means for media interviews aka verdict in.
But unless it is a bad verdict of a lessor, we wouldn't want them finished yet! We want M1 so it would then go into penalty phase and they couldn't talk to media b4 that is finished.

Here all of the jury questions asked of Stabby and her answers.

    203) In testimony on March 5, 2013, you mentioned filling a 3rd gas can, when and where did you get this can?

A:Jodi to Judge - can you repeat that?
    Judge repeats

A:On March 5? I believe that was a hypothetical, I had a third can when I originally purchased it in Salinas, I returned it before leaving Salinas, so what we were doing was
throwing out a hypothetical as to why I would only put 2 gallons in a third tank, or a third can,
so that was a hypothetical, I only had 2 gas cans with me.

If you think about it, these people have been unable to discuss this in any way over the last 4 months. They FINALLY can discuss it. Share notes. Talk about Jodi. Review the fuckery of it all. Everything they have been dying to talk about all this time. They share a bond and familiarity about the trial, no one else in their lives will ever relate to. They need this time to talk about it to confirm what they have been listening to. A lot like what we do here for hours and days on end. I am confident they will make the right decision.
I think this is exactly right, gigiann. They have not been able to talk about this for four months. I think they deserve a little time to talk about what we have been talking about daily.

So, this was my first post. Just wanted to ramble. She doesn't deserve LWOP. She deserves to be alone.
Thank you for sharing that, it was interesting to hear details from an inside perspective. And I agree, she needs to be on death row, if only for the isolation factor.

Berm, was looking at your Blogspot just now reading Hodi's handwritten notes. Something about her handwritting really disturbing, no?

This is a multi phase trial. If they vote M1 they won't be giving any interviews because they still have aggravation and mitigatin phases to get through. The jury will still be under the admonition from the court.

Are the jurors allowed to talk to the media after the verdict? I thought they have to wait until all phases are done.

Just finished listening to the full recording of Chris Hughes on the Websleuth radio show.

So, anyone figure out who the caller was? Obviously from MDS since she told my story about meeting Jodi at the new members event for church ? a story which I have written only on this forum. Caught me off guard and then I went, ?Hey, that?s me!? I?d love to know who it was. She did a really great job, made some great points, and showed very sincere emotion, consideration and love for him and his family. Well done!

They do have to wait, as the case is still active. So, they would not be expecting to talk with media, today, no matter.

They have to wait until their part is done. Then they are usually given a choice if they want to speak to media or not. Often the judge will say if they have all indicated they don't want to, or if some do. Some court houses provide a 'media room' set up for high profile cases for media to talk to the jurors.

HLN showed Jenny and Disco Donna walking away from the courthouse, and Disco was wearing the most hideous dress of this entire trial so far. Ugly AND not appropriate for court. What on earth was she thinking?

Only if the verdict is Not guilty and the trial would be over. So its a GOOD thing that they're dressed down. LOL

I'm starting to think the atty's showed up because the jurors requested testimony read back or something. The court reporter was there too. Though JW and mit. specialist left already

Yeah I ain't seeing any inspiration there for any scenic watercolor landscapes in Hodi's creative future. Maybe a decent vintage of toilet wine made from smuggled prison lunch apples.
