I have to share what I personally know about prison. I think, if JA gets what she deserves, she will go to death row to be forgotten. All alone is what she deserves. Spending her days reviewing DP cases, answering snail mail from weirdos, and maybe crafting scorpions out of her hair, like Charles Manson. (I know, he's not on death row.) There is only one DP female in the state I live. She's been there a very long time. I served 10ish months in maximum security prison for a violent crime. My info is also based on the fact this happened to me over 10 years ago. 10 months was all I needed, and I've never been in trouble since. Anyway, death row inmates are never allowed around regular GP, or general population. They do everything alone, and when they walk to, lets say, medical, the compound "locks it up", which means all movement ceases, stop in your tracks. Even traveling to the library once a week involves handcuffs and leg irons, and every meal is enjoyed alone. This is what JA deserves. To be handcuffed to go to the shower.
If she gets LWOP or anything less, she will goto a maximum security prison. In our prison, there were 6 people to a room. 2 sets of bunk beds, 2 single beds, 3 sets of double metal lockers, a toilet and a sink. It was set up like a dorm, a spider, the body being where the guard was and the legs were hallways with rooms. Adjacent the body was a common room with a tv.
She will survive, probably very well, in regular prison. Women don't treat women the same about these things as men do. As women we knew who the crazies were, but you didn't harass. One bunk mate, her and her husband pretended to be cops. They abducted a woman and kept her in the closet and raped her over and over. She was a "victim" personality, and she also knew how to survive. Charges are usually only slug at one another when there's arguments over the shower or who left the sink dirty. Petty women crap. One bunk mate was one of the youngest to be given LWOP. She kidnapped, tortured, strug up and sodimised a rival gang member with a hot curling iron, then killed her. And she was treated fine by inmates, if not slightly pitied.
So, this was my first post. Just wanted to ramble. She doesn't deserve LWOP. She deserves to be alone.

I kinda like the suspense of the jury deliberations coupled with the mystery as far as what the jurors are focusing in on, what they are like and where their minds are as it pertains to the case in its entirety, etc. Having no idea what is going on is a little thrilling.

A few other posters alluded to observations made by Jinkosaurus (amazing nickname BTW) and that idiotic right-wing zealot who wears wayyyyyy too much makeup Katie Wick. I wouldn't put ANY stock in them-they're complete morons, both of them.

I just wish that the jury was privy to the cumulative deposit of info regarding the case and Arias herself as we all are. Their picture isn't nearly complete since so much damning evidence has been withheld, but I'm still confident that there's more than enough to warrant premeditated murder.

Then again, I was convinced that O.J. & Casey Anthony were fucked, too.......

I admit it.... The picture of that basset with the sign made me lose it. When I think of Napoleon in that house it always just freaks me out. Dogs have a sixth sense about their humans and that dog had to know something was not right. People have the ability to communicate and comfort each other, dogs just know that person is not there anymore.

Now I made myself cry after looking at the TA and Napoleon pic..It really sucks that this trial has ruined so many things that were innocent that a lot of us remember from childhood and tainted them. I remember me and my little brother chasing each other around with our mouths opened full of poprocks cuz they sometimes pop out and hit the other person (we were some gross and mean little shits). Toblerone chocolate, tootsie pops, roast beef sammiches. I found this out the hard way years ago when I worked for the PD, there were things I didn't know about that I wish I would have never learned or had knowledge of. This trial has added to the things I wish I didn't know.

Totally agree. I'm in the minority here (if not standing alone) in that I would MUCH rather see a hung jury than anything less than M1.
JA offered to plea guilty to 2nd degree but that offer was turned down. A 2nd degree verdict would be a huge win for her, on so many levels, not the least of which is the fact that she would be out on the street in fewer than 10 years with time served. If the jury is hung, let them re-try her! The evidence for premeditation is clearly there, just as the evidence to convict was there in the CA case, the OJ case, and quite frankly, I'm getting tired of self-absorbed, self-important, runaway juries who take it upon themselves to do more, see more, look for more than the law requires.

My two cents on what the jury is up to etc.


If you think about it, these people have been unable to discuss this in any way over the last 4 months. They FINALLY can discuss it. Share notes. Talk about Jodi. Review the fuckery of it all. Everything they have been dying to talk about all this time. They share a bond and familiarity about the trial, no one else in their lives will ever relate to. They need this time to talk about it to confirm what they have been listening to. A lot like what we do here for hours and days on end. A lot of us have also pointed out that some of our friends and family give us odd looks if we talk about this with them and only have each other to obsess with in this trial. I am confident they will make the right decision.

I am pretty sure the verdict will come today before lunch. I think they are starting late so that they can sleep on it. I bet they will come dressed up. Today is Steven Alexander's birthday and the 10 year anniversary of my mom's death. I know she would have followed this case like us. She would have hated Jodi, too... So, for those two crazy ass reasons, I believe that Justice will be complete for Travis today.

I was pretty upbeat and confident yesterday that Travis would get M1 based on all of the evidence.

Today, after wondering what the jury was thinking, I'm getting a bit nervous. Specifically about Nurmi's lenghthy "if she went there to kill him, why not do it in his sleep?" crap. I'm worried that there will be jurors who can't wrap their minds around Jodi spending 1/2 a day there before slaughtering him.

I was also thinking again about Nurmi's comment about 9 times out of 10 not liking her. Now I'm thinking that could work to get just ONE of the jurors to "pull for her". If her own lawyer doesn't like her, her mother and father didn't like her, she was cheated on by every boyfriend, Travis used her and called her skank, etc the list goes on and on....she becomes the poor underdog. And God forbid if any of the jurors is buying the fact that she has PTSD or any other mental disorders, because our society's so conditioned now to conclude that "then it's not their fault."

Most of these jurors are not from the "It's not my fault" generation. They have asked intelligent questions all along and if they didn't buy the bullshit from Stabby, Alyce, Samuels or Geffner why would they buy Nurmi's?

Especially after he straight up lied to them about the return of third gas can. Not only did JM corner her on that but so did Nurmi.

Just one little discordant note about Faq's, Poppy's and my visit to the courthouse yesterday. At the end of the day, after the Jury had left, we were standing outside at the top of the stairs leading to the courthouse entrance. A few functionaries, a few middle-aged guys who I'd seen up on the fifth floor accompanying the jury members to the elevators, came out of the building. They glanced over at the group of people standing around observing the HLN interviewers and one of them uttered, "Looks like the circus has come to town." I don't think I was excluded from his observation. Thought to myself, "What a dork!" He serves the institution and has apparently forgotten that it is the People's Justice and they have come to that place to see that it is done. They are not circus performers and he is not a ringmaster. He's a public servant.

Hope this guy reads this and gives himself a little knock upside the head.

I'm not getting my hopes up. I think they're putting them up one day at a time. Yesterday all they had was 5/6 up. I do think a lot of people are expecting a verdict today since they're starting late. I hope everyone is right.

ETA: WT, where did you see a conference for yesterday? There isn't one on JA's case calendar.

Praying for the ONLY just verdict to be handed down today... My two cents on the jury is this; #1, I hate that the media is saying they've had this case for 2 days. They had it for an HOUR on Friday, so yesterday was really day #1. #2, I think they spent yesterday talking about Stabby and how horrible the murder was, bitching about the defense or court hours or the fact this circus lasted over 4 months, etc. Honestly, it was their first time to be able to finally let it all out and talk about the crap they have held in all this time... Truthfully, I think they know they are going M1 but needed to talk and vent about all of it, a luxury they haven't had AT ALL for 4 months.

I'm praying for that anyway! Verdict today, please...would love to see sweet Steven have a great birthday today.
