There was more media down there than Hector has pups!! Trucks from every network parked in the vicinity and reporters cruising for takers. We volunteered Ian being he is from Canada he would not likely get recognized. I parked in the garage across the street and was feet from the hln trailers. the interviewees sit in this big picture window and you see the front of the courthouse in the distance. There are four HLN trailers. You can see Sing High right near the trailers. That place is a dive! but I got a good saut?ed shrimp and sea scallop dish there the other day.

Stabby is the gift that keeps on giving. Another example of her manipulation of the system, but to Nurmi's benefit. She went through a lot of lawyers and experts before this case went to trial. Wonder why she was so hell-bent on Nurmi staying on the case considering he doesn't like her 9 out of 10 days. Maybe he is the only one who understands how she feeeels.

The rest didn't like her 11 out of 10 days. That right, these go to 11.

I know about patient confidentiality, etc, but in cases like that, are you supposed to report them to authorities if they scare you, or quit therapy...? Just curious... Seems like so many mentally ill slip thru the cracks. I blame funding and compassion, or lack thereof, not therapists, etc... With all these gun shootings recently it seems like everyone says (in hindsight), "oh, they were always a little off." Idk...

There is a world of difference between the jail where she is housed now, and the prison she'll be transferred to. Hard core convicts will surround the little princess, and she will need to "earn" her way up the pecking order, if she wishes to survive. I don't think she will be considered very badass, at all. Because she isn't. Not in the world they exist in. She will just be new meat, joining their ranks. And depending on who's "bitch" she becomes, will determine if she gets extra pudding and has someone watching her back for the shanks that will be flying at her. They are going to be lining up to take her down a notch or two. The most famous offenders are often housed in solitary, for their own protection. The world does not like Jodi, and I have a feeling that is going to carry over into her new "life" as well.

That's a good point regarding her wanting him to know why he was being killed. We all know how verbose Jodi is and how she must share her every thought with the world. For example, her journals, her 18 page letter to his family, her testimony going all the way back to how she liked crayons as a child, her lengthy emails to Travis/Abe, her manifesto, etc. I get the feeling that she was threatening Travis in those pictures on June 4 and likely had plenty to say to him, ad nauseam; he looks scared/concerned to me. We'll never really know the full truth of what he went through that day. But, he sure had her pegged in that 5/26 message. Glad he was able to tell her what a shit she is.

This is so well said, and it describes a very likely scenario of Jodi's intent, attitude and disposition during the early moments of the murder. How eerie, if true.

It was great to spend the day with Faq and also with Poppy when she came over to the courthouse later in the afternoon. The atmosphere outside the courtroom is one of relaxed apprehension. Expect the tension to increase as the waiting for a verdict drags on. It was worth waiting around to get a glimpse of the jury members as they left. I received especially courteous treatment from one of the security guards at the screening facility just inside the main entrance to the courthouse. A super nice staffer. As for the Jury, it was a quick glance but, from what I observed, they are all deliberately wearing their poker faces during their short, guarded, procession from the courtroom to the elevator. There is no way to interpret what they are thinking by looking at them.

Drove Jodi Arias's route from Palm Springs to Phoenix on Sunday. Lots and lots of gas stations on the way. Filled up in California just before I reached the Arizona border at $4.29 gal. Once I crossed into Arizona I noticed that the price was $3.49 gal. (Dumb me!). If this difference of 80 cents a gallon was the case back in 2008, Arias's story really takes a hit. Her story was that gas was cheaper in Utah and Nevada. Same applies to Arizona. Still she filled the cans in California! There's only one conclusion to draw from that fact.

Ian, you are correct about the gas, for sure, there's been a huge $ difference in gas between AZ & CA, at least as long as I've been driving... I called her out on that as soon as she said it. So I certainly feel like im sitting on needles and pins, here's hoping a verdict comes soon, for Travis's family more than anything this has dragged on far too long and those poor people need to move on with their lives and gain some kind of closure.
Jury questions have certainly reflected what we trial watchers have felt, they are very much on our wavelength so therefore I'm not too worried (although still nervous).
Having read the blog that M Joy linked to I am even less worried. I think this jury will want to do it right and examine the evidence bit by bit.

It's nice to see there are some MDSers down there for the verdict. Lovely to see our gents Faq_q and Ian :)

I had a sad when I came home this evening and no verdict. Much easier to be at work with no access and not think about it! Now Im off for the next two days to be anxious!!!

I rarely go to Starbuck's, but I think if she gets murder 1, I will have to go and have a Strawberry Frappachino to celebrate.

Starbuck's is doing 1/2 off frappuccino happy hours through May 12th I believe ... maybe they planned it to coincide with the verdict??

I've never had a strawberry frappacinno, but I may just have to try one when she's convicted!

If you think about it, these people have been unable to discuss this in any way over the last 4 months. They FINALLY can discuss it. Share notes. Talk about Jodi. Review the fuckery of it all. Everything they have been dying to talk about all this time. They share a bond and familiarity about the trial, no one else in their lives will ever relate to. They need this time to talk about it to confirm what they have been listening to. A lot like what we do here for hours and days on end. A lot of us have also pointed out that some of our friends and family give us odd looks if we talk about this with them and only have each other to obsess with in this trial. I am confident they will make the right decision.
