Well good! Probably means they are not taking this lightly, not that I ever thought they were! I've never served on a jury, and wouldn't find myself in a Death Penalty case of course, but the responsibility must feel huge. I know if it was me, and I had an impression of a verdict as the trial progressed, I would still want to be very, very, thorough! Cross all the t's and dot all the i's! This case has been a lot of time out of these jurors lives, and an extensive investment of their time, and selves! Just hope they get it right!

It's relatively dead up here in the lobby. No attorneys, TA family, no one to speak of except for media. I have heard that the attorneys will only be present when a verdict is reached.

Sorry love, but whoever told you that is wrong. The jury will notify the bailiff they have reached the verdict. The Judge, attorney's Stabby and family/media/public will all gather in the court room. The verdict will read in open court.

Better the jury take their time to reach the right verdict than rush deliver the wrong one. The have all of the evidence and 4 months of of testimony to go through. It's a DP case, we want them to take it seriously!

Just gorgeous out there. I was hoping I'd come home and the verdict would be already in, so I wouldn't have to stress out. I was wrong. I wish I had another margarita (it was a coconut lime blend, on the rocks....toasted coconut and sea salt on the rim. I wish I had a gallon of it, with a straw.)

Edinburgh is a beautiful city, my favorite. I took a CIE TOUR with my daughter in 2005. Took us a couple of days to understand our tour guide tho!

I find it seriously disturbing that our jurors are paid $12/day (plus gas for the mileage from the court to their zipcode) and yet her defense has cost nearly $2 million.

I know that it is part of our civic duty, but $12/day is ludicrous. And, I remember after my day of jury selection (with judge Stephens actually) receiving my check for like $2 for gas ? oh yeah, high rollin!! I made sure to cash it tho, just out of principle!

It ABSOLUTELY sickens me that the jury (who go through a lot mentally, emotionally, physically....) and get paid 12bucks.

They should get MIN minimum wage in the state plus gas and lunch. It's cruel to have them sacrifice SO much for this 4 month long trial or any other trial.

They should take some $$$ out of those millions that have been spent on (ie Stabby's) defense witnesses and lawyers to go to jurors. I think if they knew they will be financially ok during trial ( some jobs pay you your salary for jury duty) they will feel a little less stressed and could relax and focus more on the trial. If that makes sense??

I know this case is completely different than Casey Anthony's but didn't they deliberate for like 7 hours and acquit her? Better the JA jury take their time and make sure they're making a level headed decision than to rush to the one like the CA jury did, right?

I did the same we went to the park and lake, the weather was beautiful today. Drinking coffee now need to stay awake. Though I did predict verdict will come in tomorrow I don't want to miss out on the off chance of it being today

It's only 3pm here on the west coast, Having Vodka strawberry margaritas here! (if that's even considered a drink) Your margarita sounds devine! Mmmmm! I usually don't drink. But ah, this stress makes me wanna! lol

I also think this jury will not rush. They will be keen to consider evidence and jury directions very carefully. They are conscious of the world's media watching but will pace themselves sensibly. Also, after so much time staying quiet, they deserve time to discuss and reflect. We have all being doing this for months. I had to join MDS after only a short time to explore trial details. They have had no such luxury - I think!

I have seen ALL the autopsy photos. How many were shown to the jury? Were they picked through so as to not show the worst ones?? (by the DT)
They did not show them in the court video so I was just wondering if anyone knew how many were shown?

Good article M Joy! Reminds us of their experience, not ours. We've been able to talk, vent and pontificate at will! Casey Anthony took just 10 hours if I'm not mistaken, and I won't venture my opinion on this thread regarding that! Not only because we are discussing another case, but I'd likely be crucified for my opinion. But I will say that I followed that case more closely than this from the onset, probably because there was a lot more information available, for a longer length of time prior to the trial. I assume this is, in part, to do with Florida's Sunshine Laws?

And I agree, this is a completely different case, and would concede that the CA Jury most likely had made up their minds prior to deliberations. Again, if I'm not mistaken, they never asked to review any of the evidence.

I predicted 10-15 hours deliberation with the JA Jury, but I may have based that on the CA case, i.e, a Jury that has already made up it's mind! It's reassuring that other Juries, who have been presented with a lot of evidence in a long drawn out trial, can still take the time to reach a verdict.

The jury has seen them all. The defense only objected to one photo (TA's face) but the judge allowed it in.
This testimony was with the ME beginning on Day 2 or 3 (from what I remember)

Another of her lies. However, like most of her lies, I do think there is a grain of truth in it... I think she did fill up her car and the gas cans before leaving Salt Lake (at the Tesoro) because the gas was cheaper, and she was being thrifty. Then after she was caught, she transferred that story to explain the gas cans in general and all the gas she put in them. Then it became the tiny grain of truth inside the big lies.
