I didn't realize there was a missing pillow but you are right it might have accounted for the tassle they found on the stair.

I was confused why Nurmi brought up certain times that she 'could have' killed him. ie: right when she got there, when he was sleeping in bed....etc. The ROOMATES WERE HOME and they would have heard an attack. She knew their schedules. Just another weird thing to throw in closing, just like the 'other' Walmart.

I really don't know if a pillow was missing, it is only my speculation. Did the jury hear about the roommates being home during the day on the 3rd or 4th? I missed many parts of the beginning of the trial. I even missed parts that you all have discussed, like Nurmi talking about the gas can returned to a different Walmart. I am constantly getting up and down, and I seem to miss the good stuff. No way will I go back and try to figure out what I missed.

I don't know if this was addressed, but will there be a live feed coverage of the verdict? I just can't watch HLN.

Still possible. Pillows have different filling, with some that have polyester stands for filling. I have a throw pillow with these strands and could see how they would not be thrown from the gun blast. A small caliber round (.25 caliber) also does not have as much blast effect as say a 9mm or 45. The .25 caliber round is not much bigger than a .22lr round and the .22 is some of the easiest to muffle.

For those still unsure why/how she stabbed him in the shower instead of shooting of him first. Look how small the area directly in front of the shower is. Once he was seated and in a defenseless position (naked), she had him cornered.

Except you would generally have foreign substance in the brain. The bullet generally would carry in some aspect of the fabric or stuffing with it and they found no foreign objects. Also, you would probably have some stuffing or fabric at the scene where the bullet was shot, and I don't recall any there. Dunno

I haven't seen this one... cramped quarters to say the least. Whatever blow came first (I agree it was the stab to the the chest) would have rendered him helpless... from that point on he was crawling, gasping, fighting to stay alive and get away from her... a linebacker with a fatal knife wound to his chest.

I think it depends on the type of fiber the pillow had. I think the bullet would show signs of fiber retention if it were a hollow point projectile. I have heard of bullets melting fibers as they exit fabric so it is possible the projectile would show those signs of material. Is it possible the area she cleaned up was the area she shot him in? Could fibers from the pillow be picked up from that?

The pillow body could have been dumped in the desert with the murder weapon. It looks like the pillow was stabbed though as the tassel looks like it was severed from the pillow and left on the stairs.
