I was away for the weekend, so I caught up on Friday's closing arguments and the final jury instructions.
I actually laughed during a part of Nurmi's closing, when he talked about how Jodi HAD moved on after moving back to CA. How she was reaching out to meet other people "like a young Mormon woman is supposed to do, she was....blah blah blah." As if the faith and the church meant a THING to Jodi??! Give me a break. The only reason she converted to the faith was to do everything she could to become Travis' ideal girl and eventual wife.

KCL on WS had a little quiet talk with JM on Fri. One of them said that KN was trying to imitate JM, but didn't do a good job. JM said that KN is not a good speaker. JM is also hoping for a M1 verdict on Mon.

Thanx Jillee, (& I know we don't agree on this, just in case anyone reads it the wrong way later) Crickets argument is definitely possible then. Not absolutely 100% definitely right, but not crazy out there & not at all deserving of put downs. "Facial skeleton" is an incredibly vague description to use in a report of this nature. What you've described (re sinus) is NOT present in that autopsy report, unless they released a much shortened version to the public? so I assume he elaborated & filled in the gaps on the stand?

What part of Cricket's theory was even remotely possible?

New piece of info was the email he said she Sent Travis after 5-26 saying she was getting a lawyer. That email was never mentioned or entered into evidence. And the Molly Mormon reference was funny where she walked around Sky's house with the book of Mormon in her hands.

Yeah that defintely sparked my interest too, the part about the lawyer. It actually makes it more puzzling to me though, it really seems like there was something beyond the sex tape that was the pinnacle that caused that response from travis. Nobody will ever know what unfolded except for Jodi. I think Chris was actually incredibly sincere and without the Talking Heads trying to extract certain stories and opinions from him while interrupting for commercial breaks i think he was able to just tell things in a more more honest unfiltered way. I felt like he gave more diminsions to everything and didn't come off as one-sided. I will admit i sort of questioned the Hughes before this but I really feel like i have a much clearer picture on a lot of things now and feel like Chris is the right person to speak on behalf of Travis and the alexanders.

It was. It was actually nice to hear him say what he had to say because he was given the time to do so. Also, kudos to our MDS member call in. We see the passion in our words when we post here. We heard the passion in her voice with the call.

The issue about her getting a lawyer caught my attention too, maybe Travis discovered she was stealing money from his account and threatened to sue her? (remember he also sent her a message to her facebook acct that we never saw). Maybe she told him she was going to release the phone sex conversation and he told her he was going to sue her and that is why she said she would get a lawyer? Most likely we will never know... so many twists in this case

Great radio talk thanks for posting it. One thing he mentioned was where was jodi going with the gun just before she was arrested? Scary thought! She had bought a gun for a reason and we all know she never intended to kill herself ..... Jodi loves herself way too much for suicide

If so, it should be in the report. All of it. Every tiny detail. Because one day it could be an innocent defendant whose life depends on reading every tiny detail BEFORE the M.E finally testifies to fill in what's missing. They shouldn't suddenly be learning autopsy detail that could provide argument for their defense, years later, when the trial's almost over. & what if the M.E died before it went to trial? There goes any chance of getting the real specifics behind the report. (again, if there's a more detailed report in existence that does have all of this detail everything I said is negated)

I wouldn't have bothered with this, but some of those posts were really nasty & pretty much called Crickets an idiot. What was wrong with leaving it at "agree to disagree". Speaking to an obviously intelligent adult as though they're a particularly aggravating & thoroughly stupid child is never a good look - even if the person really IS stupid, which Crickets, quite clearly, is not. No-one EVER wanted to "prop up the defense" . There's nothing to prop. At least one person completely missed the point of this discussion. It was never "O.M.G.!! Poor sweet Jodi is INNOCENT!! It's a a big 'ole mean conspiracy!! We have to set her FREE!!!"

I am sorry for posting again, this is the last time I'll discuss it. It's just, this was only ever supposed to be about something that could come up on appeal, or maybe create enough doubt to make a few jurors waver on the death penalty. That's all. & even that is dependant on them understanding what Dr Geffner was really pointing out. Again - discussing a weakness or error in the prosecution or a rare strong point in the defense case, on one of hundreds, if not thousands of internet boards/forums doing exactly the same thing, CANNOT affect the outcome of the trial. No-one is "propping up the defense". No-one is jinxing the prosecution.

The facial skeleton is not vague....it refers to the bone, only. Sinus cavities are hollow spaces. If you look at the X-Ray that the ME took of Travis' head, you can clearly see the bullet in the soft tissue area of the cheek. It was not the bone, itself. The bone and cartilage in and around the nasal cavity and the orbital bones are very thin. The Jaw is a separate bone from the skull. The bullet passed through the forehead, and went through the frontal lobe before passing through the cartilage of the sinus cavity and stopping in the cheek. He said there was an enlarged opening where it exited from the sinus. So, there was no exit wound through the skull, itself. It was through cartilage and soft tissue and was not considered to have an exit wound in the sense that it never exited the skin.

another part that stuck out to me is that there actually a pedophile story that she initially claimed which was more vile than the one she told in court. chris wouldn't even tell it because he said it was so bad. she then switched it the story about child porn on is comptuer which eventually evolved to the photo on the bed ordeal. ugh.

Jodi was so thrilled to have someone like Travis interested in her. He was popular, well loved, successful, engaging, funny etc. Her ego was boosted having someone like Travis like her. She felt it _____________ her. (acccckkkkkk can't think what word I want here. Help me out). She figured since everyone loved Travis so much and HE was chosing HER....she was something special too and thrived on the self importance of it all.

I have wondered if she had seen Travis speak at previous events before she met him. You can see from the videos of his seminars how everyone laughs and applauds when he speaks. Does anyone know if Jodi actually made any money with PPL?
