dizzy! are you the geneology one? I noticed in Norma's obit, she must have remarried at some point 'Sarvey'. Any idea when?
Interestingly, I noticed today, someone removed his parents from the wiki listing on Travis. No idea why they have the kids moving in w grandma after his Dad died, because his Dad died 1997 I think and that was no where near when Travis was 8 yrs old.

yeah... that's me. I have a basic family tree built on The Alexander family... let me check on Norma... I'll edit this comment with an update.

    WT:

    here you go:

Name: James Ner Sarvey Jr (he died: 16 Mar 2002 in Riverside Cal.)
    Spouse: Norma Jean Alexander
Marriage: 3 May 1963 in Nevada

her 1st husband, Travis' grandfather was John D Alexander, a welder. (as far as I can tell he's still alive so I'll leave it at that)

btw: Travis' father died 28 Jul 1997 on Travis' 20th birthday

The picture I am getting reading appeals is like a mini trial format. JM will agrue the cruelty, probably put the doc back up to testify to consciousness / pain.
If the jury agrees this factor of cruelty exists, and they convicted of M1, then its up for DP or LWOP decision. So, on the def side, they get to argue more for 'mitigating' factors .. IOWs factors to weigh against the cruely for why she shouldn't get the DP. At both stages it sounds like it could be evidence and testimony for the side presenting and that evidence or testimony can be cross examined / challenged like they do at trail. It's not a full blown repeat of the trial but focus on the aggravating / mitigating proof.
I could have got it wrong in order reading fast, but that is the basic premise I get so far.

Has anyone been able to find a photo of Nurmi's wife? Someone mentioned they would try. I am curious as to what his counter part looks like.

Wishful thinking, but they probably will want to get to a verdict as quickly and thoroughly as possible without getting lost in the weeds. I hope we hear from them in depth, but if they convict of M1 they have to return for more phases and probably can't make statements until after sentencing. I wonder if they will learn of some of the "prejudicial" evidence in the Sentencing phase. Anybody have knowledge of this?
I am worried about the one she seemed to be making flirty eye contact with when she looked at them. Did anyone else see that? She would sort of blink her eyes like she did when her ex was on the stand.

I cannot imagine arriving somewhere in the middle of the night without calling to let someone know I was almost there. This was huge for me! My favorite jury question was about the absence of items stored in the attic. That is another lie the jury can add to the list of lies she told directly to them. Not to mention it makes the pedo story even more unlikely (if that is possible).
I missed what the items, or lack thereof, in the attic meant. Can you explain, please?

So I thought it was the one-time famous Australian tennis player Pat Cash (yes guys I know, embarassing mistake &all - but sport & porn & porn &sport have never been my strongest areas).

Anyway, never could stand that jerk in his blinding whiter-than-white shortshorts, so Coconut kind of annoyed me in some vague barely aware way at first. Then I realised why & seeing as it's pretty stupid to dislike someone for having an avatar that looks vaguely like someone you found annoying 2 decades earlier..well, I told myself to stop being so fucking stupid. I still think I'm seeing Pat Cash out of the corner of my eye sometimes though. Grrrrr.
Right on!!! lmao I'm pretty sure he's the one that I pointed the "fuck you" smiley on a ways back. Partially because he was being really annoying, and partially because I wanted to try out the smiley on someone. I'm going to call him my sexy little coconut from now on.
    Back to the thread...
Why would anyone sit down in a small shower? How would sitting in the shower give Jodi some unique pictures of him? There's something very odd about that picture. In the very beginning, I thought for sure she had stabbed him in the back when he was facing the back of the shower. But after analyzing the last couple pics, why sit in the shower? It doesn't make sense to me for her to stab him in the chest, while he can see what she's doing. But first, how did she get him in a sitting position in the first place? I'm becoming more and more certain, that she had that gun in her hand, directing what he was doing.

Was he trying to say that since she lies, she lied about which store she returned the gas can to? She lied about returning it at all, that's clear, but now the jury is expected to believe that she lied about her lie. It doesn't make sense, Nurmi.
I think his point was she did not use bleach, which meant she did not destroy the camera! Idiotic reasoning, if you ask me. Putting a camera in a washing mating, with or without bleach, indicates to me an attempt at destroying evidence.

So, there was a father figure all those years in the house? Norma didn't raise them alone? (Unless they remained married but not together)
But if together is true, WTH was Nurmi trying to pull and why would JM let that fly without correcting it?

I think she stabbed him as he was trying to get up and out. That shower was tiny. He would have had to crawl out, or grasp something and try to stand. Then, she stabbed his chest. He was not focused on her, but trying to rise up. Why she had him sit. Like JM said - he was vulnerable.

That seems accurate. To me, a very inappropriate response but everything about what makes Arias tick defies convention & logic.

It definitely was among the stranger moments in the trial thus far.

Rule 26.16. Entry of judgment and sentence; warrant of authority to execute sentence

    a. Entry of Judgment and Sentence. The judgment of conviction and the sentence thereon are complete and valid as of the time of their oral pronouncement in open court.

    b. Warrant of Authority. The court or person authorized by the court shall forthwith enter the exact terms of the judgment and sentence in the court's minutes. A certified copy, signed by the sentencing judge, shall be furnished to the appropriate officer and no other authority shall be necessary to carry into execution any sentence entered therein.

If the sentence is for death or imprisonment, the appropriate officer shall receive the defendant for execution of the sentence upon delivery to him or her of a signed, certified copy of the entry in the court's docket.

    hmmm
I thought she went to Travis' house one day in January to help him put the Christmas decorations into the attic, and she showed up there and "discovered" him doing the deed. I didn't realize she concocted a story of where the photos actually were.

so far I can confirm that Norma and James Sarvey were still together in 1993 living in Sandy Utah. (just relocated from Riverside Cal) Travis was 16 yo.

WT: Wiki and everywhere states that Travis was taken in by Norma when his father died. NOT TRUE, Travis was 20yo in 1997 when his father died. The more likely scenario is Norma took the kids in when their father divorced the mother and remarried in Aug of 1984. Travis was 7 or 8 at that time.

Yes me too, she said she went over to the house to help him put away the Christmas decorations up into the attic. He found that little angel statue or whatever it was she said he gave to her that he found in the attic I believe. She said she left the house and then remembered she forgot his little gift and didn't want him to be upset and think it wasn't important to her so she went back to the house and ran up the stairs to his room and that is when she claims he had the pics all over the bed and was supposedly masturbating over or around or at the pics. She claims that she then ran out of the house and drove home and got sick etc and then drove around and ended up at the temple or temple grounds or some bullshit and he kept repeatedly trying to reach her. I don't recall her ever saying the pics were in the attic. I may not have this exactly right but it is very close as I remember the story. Of course it is a total lie proven by the police report of the house when they went thru it and nothing was found in the attic.
