After verdict its 30 - 60 days allowed to set a sentencing date. Be nice if she goes for the shorter one since they've had five years for this mess.
so are you saying the Jury gets 30-60 days for the mitigation and penalty deliberations? I know if they hang in either of those phases they bring in a NEW JURY... could be a big mess.

no the jury deiberations aren't set to any time frames. Sorry, I meant just for the judge scheduling the sentencing phase. No less than 15 days from guilt verdict and no more than 30 if I stop guessing and look it up. I have to chk more, iirc, this is different in DP cases.

still, those poor jurors have to stay in "jury mode" long after the initial verdict.

Seems kind of off how slow they are, how their courts are ran so lax and poor scheduling etc that jurors have to commit / give up a half a yr of their life. But, they are citizens of the State, if it was problem to them, they would be the ones to scream to get it improved wouldn't you think. I've seen trials take months before, but there is more here that is surprising imo. People laughing, eating, phones going off with no reprimands followed. All kinds of crazy! That is the Judge's fault.

God forbid anyone have a sense of humor. It's better to relieve stress while socializing and see the ridiculousness of this all than be bent up in nonstop anger and arrogance on what someone can say. Trust me, everyone here is vested in this trial and want to see justice prevail. If we didn't, we would not be here. I be ya the Alexanders go home and between their prayers find the time to relieve their anxiety with laughter over some aspects of this trial. So you just go about in your anger calling out people who are handling things different than you.

Nurmi is a poor attorney and an unethical one as well.

The event the cashier did not scan the barcode on the return of the gas can, and it avoid the defense from wedging doubt.

They probably also checked the money against all the receipts to balance the day's receipts as well which is routine.

The only way Jodi's story could be true is if she returned the gas can, the cashier neglected to scan the barcode, circle the receipt, and returned it using some miscellaneous code. Jodi said she returned it that same day. It seems highly unlikely that the barcode would be missing on a brand new gas can.

Once again, Jodi's story is relying on a bunch of unfortunate circumstances where Walmart neglected their business process for returns.

I believe Juan didnt bring other stores into the equation because he didnt have to, and he didnt want to muddy the waters. The defense did not challenge the evidence. I believe they knew, as did Juan, that Walmart knew exactly when and where all gas cans were sold and if any were returned.
None of that matters because JM got her to say that returned it to the same store she bought it from and Nurmi, in all his ineptitude, got her to confirm it again on redirect

Nurmi made another mistake in his closing. He said the photo taken at 5:33:32 showed carpet. He thought the strip in the picture was between the carpet and the tile. It's not. It's the molding between the floor and and the wall. He forgot this picture was taken when the camera was upside down.

Why muddy the water when there's enough to put the story together and have very little to dispute. Nurmi really couldn't dispute much. Instead, as JM said, he argued.
Exactly! He used the KISS theory. This also limited the number of arguments the defense could make in their case.

The 30 to 60 days is only if she's convicted of anything less than M1. If they convict her of M1 they will move to the aggravation phase pretty quickly, the choices there are LWOP or DP. The Judge would sentence her almost immediately if this occurs.

Are you the family spokesperson? Seems odd because of what the family has requested doesn't fit your statements.
iirc They asked that the def or JAs family not be bashed. Think it was Tanisha that put out something on it. You don't honestly think they go home, pray, and make up anal jokes or plaster their brothers penis pics up do you?

My opinion is that, for us that have listened and watched the trial since the very beginning, we have thought it out and have looked at the facts and have our opinions. This is a very serious case, nomatter what side you are on. I think after reaching our decisions, for or against Jodi, we have become very passionate in what we believe. Sometimes because of our deep feelings and emotions in this case, we tend to get kind of, I guess, head strong in what we believe. We are human beings and unfortunetly, we don't always express ourselves the way we should, but I really think the people here have tried to do the right thing. We can even laugh, at times with people that don't think the way we do, sometimes even agreeing to disagree. This site has been a very important part of getting me through the whole thing. It's just so helpful to have people to talk to about this, because my family has no interest in it and I'm sure are tired of me watching this all the time, so I come here and all of you make me feel better, nomatter if you're on my side or not. Thank you all!

Good morning everyone! So, I finally caught up. From what I observed, Juan seemed to be pretty jumpy during closing and the closing rebuttal. He got all the fine points covered but seemed to be disorganized and jump around all over the place with regard to the evidence. I just finished the last portion and it looked like judge Stephens dismissed the jury to start deliberation. Can someone tell me when that happened? Since I had to watch on YouTube, it doesn't say the time of day that they were done. Did they discuss the deliberation schedule? Thanks for any help!

Nicely put Deanna. Passions/emotions are running high..... we are emotionally invested in this case which resonates with us each differently due to our life experiences. I have found this site to be an invaluable refuge and an outlet.

Thanks for the WB sneakers, it was a great trip. I guess I'll still stick to the Tuesday before noon prediction. Going down tomorrow though just in case. Anyone decide to fast along with Travis's family today? I'm not into that sort of thing but I have heard about it before.

What exactly does that mean? There has to be multiple pieces of evidence to prove mitigating factors? The penalty phase confuzzles me.
