oh my lord. 5 1/2 hours of interrogation. Two detectives pleading for some remorse, some humanity from Stabby. if not to help herself, than for the closure and questions Travis' family deserves. Nothing from the monster in orange. absolutely mind boggling.
I was starting to feel some compassion for stabby for a minute or some confusion inside me as to whether she was being honest or genuine. but the minute flores was back and stabby just starts gushing about the most inane, trivial, shallow things....I mean her demeanor change is stunning! and the reversion back to the shallow and meaningless... she acted like she was going on a vacation and needs to tie up loose ends.! She does know at this point she has been charged with murder right? WTF who acts like that?!?!

Rewatching Dr. Jill Hayes's direct and cross examination testimony. Stabby only reads at a 12th reads grade level so while she has good verbal skills are very high her comprehension isn't nearly as good. That shows in her journals/writings.

I watched those two weeks ago. Stunning is right ..how about how she had no time for female officer. She strung them along as they tried to appeal to her better nature which she does not have. when this new thread opened oh some 800 pages ago... musta been a slow trial week, anyway, everyone was talking about these tapes. And I was on stabbyfatigue (again) so I just read thru them recently and decided after the jury got this I would go have a look see. I am almost sorry I started, but now that I am more than half done, I can't stop myself. I find myself wishing that the detectives had gotten snotty and took a hard approach with her. This softness, she doesn't deserve it, and I don't think patronizing her works at all. And I wonder what her defense would have been if all these seeds hadnt been planted about how Travis must have done something to make her that angry, or how maybe he was a player, or that she isn't "this" person everyone thinks. Ugg.
With each video I see her asking about the pictures, and clearly I see that it is so she can make up a story of what happened. she knows they know she was there, she can't explain it.
Mostly I don't understand the psychology behind what drives and motivates her, and I find myself yelling at her to just fucking TELL Flores what really happened, she is caught. I would have folded like a napkin (well first I wouldn't have done this, but if this were me) just to unload my burden and the talking of Travis' family would have been a fabulous reason to show she has remorse, empathy, humanity. but she is soul less. forget pure whore, how about pure evil.

2. first his legs are not crossed as some have said... they're just tightly tucked at a severe angle... what's seen in that photo is his right calf pressed against the upper part of his right leg. His arms are actually casually draped or resting over his bent knees. It's a shower stall his knees are probably pushed against the wall of the shower thus the "crouch" position. I agree Brillig, IMO this photo preceeds any injury.

I agree. I don't think his legs are crossed in this photo. With as tight as that shower looked (I don't have a stand alone shower, but a shower in a bathtub so it's a lot larger) I don't see how he could have them crossed. I also think the photo of just his face is taken in the sitting position as well. The one thing that gives me doubt about that is the face photo it looks to me like the shower door is closed (water beading off of the glass) but sitting photo looks like the door is open.

The convenience of the gun and the knife in the bathroom. Really? REALLY? Jodi's story is so thin you can see through it. No reasonable person would believe that Jodi could or would grab a gun and shoot someone, and then feel so threatened by that person that they would have to go get a knife and stab him 28 times and slit his throat. It just does not make any sense. Even with a "heat of passion" argument, it's just too weird that the knife and gun were in such easy reach for her, and that she managed to get both without sustaining any injuries herself.

What helps the prosecution theory so much is the odd combination of wounds, the unlikely probability of both weapons being upstairs and in easy reach, and the fact that Jodi lied on the stand to the jury. If Jodi lied about the gas can, then she's probably lying about everything else. There is no reason to trust a damn thing she says, which means her explanation of the knife being upstairs is improbable and unlikely.

The only thing that really concerns me is that Nurmi brought up that three inch piece of a tassel. It would be weird that there was only that little piece of rope left, and I assumed that it was a tassel from like a pillow or curtain, that she might have snagged on her purse or clothing as she fled the scene.

Nurmi suggested that it was part of the rope. I don't suppose Juan rebutted that at all in his closing, did he?

This is what makes her "fog" so damn convenient, if she shoots him and has to look for the knife, imost people would take their chances and run instead of looking for the knife for fear that since you already dropped the gun, he will catch up to you and either he will now have the gun and shoot you or over power you. As always, she wants to have it both ways!

More proof that there is usually a nugget of truth in her lies. She did have tire issues however not on the day of the funeral.
I'm sure she just didn't think she could keep the act of grieving, pity-seeking stalker up for another service. She knew that it had not been a good performance at the memorial because Det Flores told her that all of Travis' friends were pointing the finger at her. If they would have believed her story, nothing would have kept her from that funeral.

I agree. The one thing that gives me doubt about that in the face photo it looks to me like the shower door is closed (water beading off of the glass) but sitting photo looks like the door is open.

agree.. it is closed in the close-up of his face (I'm convinced of that) so in this photo she swings the door open and takes a photo of him sitting in the shower (same position as the close-up, wider zoom)... a clumsy photo.. maybe it was intentionally taken or maybe she accidently hit the shutter button... but she was in action leading to what we all knows comes next.

Every day I go through my normal routine. I wake up, make breakfast for my daughter, watch her play with her toys, giggle and laugh....these little joys that make me smile. Theses are the some of the things that Travis will never get to do. He'll never get to marry, he'll never get to love and be loved like he deserved and he'll never have a family.... He had so much to live for and so many people loved him. I can't and won't ever understand how someone could brutally murder another person like Jodi did Travis. The picture of his face will forever be etch into my memory. Murder 1 is the only thing she deserves and may she rot in hell.

I thought the same thing at first but no, this is a frame grab of the photo as it was being shown in court so that is the finger of one of the attorneys

On the subject of Nurmi's declaration that Jodi was too smart to make the type of mistakes she did, I disagree. If all deviant criminals were smart, there would be no jails, since no one would ever get caught. Conversely, if all deviant criminals were stupid, every crime would be solved immediately. Sometimes it takes years to solve cases.

Most criminals, even the smart ones, eventually screw up or squeal. I remember one time while as a dispatcher I received a call from a man who said his baby momma was at his home the previous day and he didnt want any trouble. Inside of 60 seconds, I was able to get his name and date of birth. While I talked sympathetically to him, I entered him into NCIC and discovered that there was an active Order of Protection against him along with a warrant for CDVHAN.

A little more coaxing and I had his address, and I had him convinced that it was best to talk to the police to avoid any misunderstanding. The police went to the address i gave them, knocked on his door, he opened it, and they cuffed him. Dumbass criminal!

I don't know either if the water is running or not in the sitting picture. It looks like water dripping off of his arm, and maybe water pooling at the bottom going down the drain, but the water could very well be shut off at this point. With this being a picture of a picture it's really tough to tell. dizzyp, I also believe this is where she makes her move. He's in a vulnerable position not only sitting down in the shower, but also because it's still wet from the water running (and possibly just being turned off). I don't know if I believe that he was shot first though, and we will probably never know.

great story! I wish I would have gotten into forensics for a career but being a dispatcher gets you front and center on all the action as it happens... stressful I can imagine, but exciting.
