it was disturbingly inappropriate for him to say... and her reaction was calculated (manipulative) to make it seem like she can laugh at herself... sick, IMO

I think woman know other woman pretty well, so they may have less compassion for her then some (one?) of the men. I knew nothing about case until I clicked on Court TV. I came in at rental car guy. Seeing and hearing JA on stand, the longer she was on, the more she repulsed me. By the end of
her testimony she just seemed to me a remorseless, creepy beast. In her past history it seems like she did not have many, if any, female friends. I think she would be threatened by it. She must be Queen Bee. JMO

I would think she looked over his closing and gave the AOK to that and every line. She controls them. Nurmi wanted off this case. I believe he really does not like her ten out of ten days..

JA lied about a tire problem stopping her from going to the funeral
Now that they showed us the DATES on her bank statement, her tire charge shows up on the 16th. Same day as her priceline air fare. Her bank appears to be posting things 2 days later than the actual charge was made. i.e. Starbucks shows up on the 5th not the 3rd.

    Travis' memorial was the 16th
    His funeral was June 21st.

There is no tire charge or airfare charge after the 16th!

Some transactions come out immediately and some sit in pending for a day or 2 before they come out. Even point of sale purchases. My bank does the same thing, it's annoying.
But she did apparently lie about the flat tire too. She really is a piece of work.

LOL Nurmi doesn't know she returned the car on the 7th and said 'she returned the car on the 9th)

Missing the funeral would be another under oath lie! Too bad it went right over JMs head.

For the car rental, Columbo testifed she CALLED a couple times to reserve a car

GREAT catch! I didn't go back to listen to what the actual rental agent had to say. Her liefest on the stand was that she went through priceline for the car in Redding because it was cheaper.

More proof that there is usually a nugget of truth in her lies. She did have tire issues however not on the day of the funeral.
I'm sure she just didn't think she could keep the act of grieving, pity-seeking stalker up for another service. She knew that it had not been a good performance at the memorial because Det Flores told her that all of Travis' friends were pointing the finger at her. If they would have believed her story, nothing would have kept her from that funeral.

you are right but why would nurmi lie about the gas can be returned? i am sure he knows her testimony and that it was a lie - i don't get it, he isn't dumb and still needs a career after this
That will come back to haunt him. I would think JA knew everything that was said by Nurmi. So stupid,as that lie is easily confirmed.

I'm pretty sure she said something about Yreka not showing up on priceline also.

For those that think JM gets too energized ... here's an atty so heated the judge and guard have to order him back from getting to close to the witness.

Day after the memorial, June 17th is when she went to the PD with others to give fingerprints and DNA.
6-21-08 Day of Travis' funeral, Flores had a voice mail from Arias asking him to call her.
    6-24-08 Flores calls Arias back

On Monday 6-24-08, I called .Jodi back asking her what l could do for her. Jodi said she called me on Saturday, because she was
having a bad day. She mentioned she missed Travis' funeral in southern California because she'got a"flat tire on the way to the
airport. Another reason for her call was to check on any updates to the case.

They will get up if there is a death penalty phase. If defense brought them up during case I would imagine (???) that JM could use the videos of them talking to police. That would have been pretty devastating to defense. They had enough (JA's lies, lies, lies) going against them. Her own parents..YIKES!!

I think that is exactly why her parents didn't testify.

My thing about Juan, was I did not like constant yelling. I know he is very passionate about case, but softer, then yelling at real big "booms",which there were many, would be more compelling to me. I thought his closing was fantastic. He made me laugh out loud a couple times, wildebeast, that JA could have had a nice red little diddy (car), but chose white. I missed squealing like a cat. Then quietly stating the horror of the murder, how vile it was accusing TA of being a pedophile. Great job.

Oddly enough, her mother even told Flores about the flat tire and how it prevented her from going to the Funeral. I'm surprised JM didn't pick that up.

I couldn't figure out what Nurmi's point was with the bleach. Was that some kind of Perry Mason moment? His whole closing was a mess and it was actually HIM that didn't make sense. I was astounded that he would now back peddle on the Walmart location when it had already been testified to. Was he trying to say that since she lies, she lied about which store she returned the gas can to? She lied about returning it at all, that's clear, but now the jury is expected to believe that she lied about her lie. It doesn't make sense, Nurmi.

Freeman says Arias stayed at his family?s home for a week during the time of Alexander?s memorial service.

?She was distraught. She was quiet, withdrawn. She didn?t talk a lot, but she just kind of sulked around the house. My mother found her several times hugging her feet in a fetal position on the floor?I thought it was because she was distraught over losing Travis,? Freeman told Grace.

    http://www.hlntv.com/video/2013/05/0...freeman-speaks

Her bank statement shows her in Calfornia on the 16th and the 20th. That would only leave a few days, not a week to stay at the Freemans.
Now her 'visitor' Dan is padding it into a week w his excuses why he stuck by Arias ... such a good friend of Travis'. \

and the 6/20 $28.00 is the airport parking fee when she returned from the Memorial Ser. Then 6/20 $30.04 gas fill-up in Benecia Cal on the way home to Yreka (so she had a car that was capable of a 500 mile round trip 2 weeks after the murder) ... and finally: on 6/25 $19.95 to "PPL Web Services"? maybe researching possible fabricated defense strategies?

edit: just noticed she also filled up her rental car in King City, Cal which is approx 45 miles south of Salinas. $51.41 (had to be Jun 3 "next stop Pasadena") which matches the $49.91 to fill-up in Winnemucca, NV (had to be Jun 6) after she left Utah and Ryan Burns. She was driving a 2008 Ford Focus which has a 13 gallon gas tank. Price of Gas was aprrox $3.85 in Jun 2008 so approx $50 to fill the tank.

Crap, the mother believed her?! Or as some have suggested all along, mums knows and was even helping her with the getaway plan.

I totally agree. him and his covert covert sounded ridiculous too. The state has always said her receipts and Utah trip was planned and kept ... for an albi.

Alright, right back at you dizzy! You are good. I never saw the parking as the return from her Dan Freeman fetal position. Good catch.

Hey all! Just been thinking...what do you think were the pieces of evidence or which witness most damaging to Stabby' defense?

    >I think the gas cans are going to be a big thing; because of the lies to the jury.
    >The ME's testimonies too.
    >I think Deanna Reid was an important witness too.
    >Obviously WalMart and Tesoro.

    What does everyone else think?

Imo this is what will do her in

    - Stolen gun
    - Rental car
    - Gas cans
    - No purchases/phone activity in AZ
    - Magically finds phone charger outside of AZ
    - Killing travis 3 times over
    - Cleaning up the crime scene
    - Calling/emailing a dead travis acting like nothing happened
    - Insisting she were never in AZ
    - Lying about what happened

If this was truly a DV incident, she would have said so from the start and wouldnt have cleaned up the crime scene or killed travis 3 times over

Phone being turned off in AZ. The fact that the drive was that far and there were NO calls between her and Travis as she was nearing Mesa. She wants eceryone to believe that she was sooo cautious as to have back up gas on the trunk but was not concerned about not having her phone charged. I cannot imagine arriving somewhere in the middle of the night without calling to let someone know I was almost there. This was huge for me! My favorite jury question was about the absence of items stored in the attic. That is another lie the jury can add to the list of lies she told directly to them. Not to mention it makes the pedo story even more unlikely (if that is possible).
