Now I have a question: If the judge ruled the fake letters inadmissable for either side to use, why in the hell was the issue allowed at all?
I believe I would have more respect for the defense argument if the pedo thing hadn't been introduced at all. I don't understand the law.

Nurmi has to bring up the phone call and the orgasm. He is not making it up. It's in evidence and it represents part of their fucked up relationship.

Allowed because testimony is considered 'evidence' ... even if it comes from a lying killer trying to claim self defense.

It's kind of hard to give an credit to someone who scored so high in most of the psychological indicators, and was obviously having a 'psychotic break' from reality, to even do the things she did. A don't think a high IQ is an indication of mental stability. In fact, many of the most intelligent people in the world are considered extremely mentally ill. It's history..look it up.

I understood her IQ to be about 119. Einstein's was in the 160 range. She thinks she was smart, but all killers make mistakes.

It's the ultimate irony! The judge precludes the introduction of letters supposedly written by TA, confessing to JA his pedophillic tendencies, letters proven to be forgeries at the hand of the defendant. BUT, allows in, without one iota of proof, the defense's "claim" of pedophilia based solely on the killer's word, deeming it not too prejudicial against the victim!

This is such a great post as it points out how difficult it is to commit a perfect murder. Arias is not as smart as she clearly thought she was. She highlighted her lies early in the interrogation tapes. She offered red flag points to Detective Flores on a plate - declaring way too early how she could prove she wasn't in Arizona, mentioning her gas receipts, if I remember correctly. Arias has around average intelligence in my opinion but she has higher verbal skills. Her immaturity and arrogance made her over estimate her murder planning abilities. You have to be much smarter than Arias to committee a perfect murder... or luckier, or plan better.

Yah. I see your point. I guess I have an inherent sexual deviancy then, because I didn't find it that offensive. Til he said "thats hot" then i just found it strange. People have sexual fantasies. they sometimes play them out. with each other. It isn't as if he said a 5 year old. and yet the defense draws the picture of Travis being interested in little boys. and then young girls. And then he likes women in boy undies. It just makes no sense. It's a hell of a reach, IMO, and I find it disturbing that there is NO other reference to Travis having any sexual interest in children in any other instance. yup, JM threw in the mention before that there isn't even one text / msg that she knew about Cancun then dropped it quietly.
I think he might be holding that in a quiet corner for attack 2.

I hope he points out she also turned, looked the jurors in the face and lied to the jury about the gun with her 'only seen long barrel ones' but wants them to believe she found a short barrel .25 in Oct 2007
