neither Willmott or Nurmi are in the PD's office... both private contracted. I think Nurmi went private after taking (and trying multiple times to get out of) this case.

When responding to Nurmi regarding the gas can return. She said that there was a Starbucks in the "strip mall: where the Walmart was located. She said that after walmart she went to starbucks and went back into Walmart to return it. I think they if they attempt to say that she brought it to a different one then not only will she look like a liar but her whole DT will too.

Yip, of course it did. The jury now gets time to study these pics, they'll get it.

Snipped for space. So cynical for one so young Blighted. To err is human, particularly for the typist. You not heard that one before? :)) No boom, small or supersonic. The jury have the ME's report and diagrams to mull over. They. Will. Get. It.

So in this case it very clearly was just a typo.

Would it be better if Jodi (or someone like her) walked free because of a typo? Would that seem more just?

I don't want any innocent person convicted. I would never say that just being charged with a crime is proof of guilt. The American justice system bends over backwards to protect defendants rights and treat them fairly. Look at all the hundreds of posts on this thread complaining that the defendant has far too many rights and gets away with too much. American laws absolutely err on the side of the accused.

Nothing unfair has happened to the defendant in this case. She has not been treated unfairly, she has had a shockingly expensive defense paid for by the taxpayers, the judge has continually ruled on many things in a way that favors Jodi and protects her rights, etc, etc. Jodi is not the victim here. Nothing unjust has happened to her, typo or no typo.

I've thought that way for a long time, think it was in last thread I mentioned it. Either that, something to do with drugs. And then my mind turns to theft, because of the sex issue last day.

I believe it's been said -- can't verify right now -- that between the 26th and the day of the murder, he only had 2 calls with her. It could certainly have been her crying at him about wanting to be with him, and maybe she was not going to use the blackmail to ruin him anymore, and that she wanted to stop him from exposing her, but he wasn't receptive to it. So, she sets her murder plan into motion.

Maybe he thought that with her 1,000 miles away in California, that it was an empty threat and he was taking his chances that she wasn't going to do anything with the tape; until she turned up on his doorstep?
Snipped for space. BIB: This is the part I have the most problem with. I just can't see how the threat of her being exposed for 'simply' blackmail could do her any harm. To expose her to his friends imo wouldn't have a big impact on Jodi. All she has to do there is cut any ties she had left with mutual friends, and stay in Ca. She doesn't need to see any of them again, end of problem.

What sticks in my craw is that Travis threatens to expose her to her family. If Travis were to tell them she'd threatened to blackmail him with a naughty phone call, they would most probably put it down to a 'dispute' between their daughter and her ex. Shit happens, move on son kind of thing. I'm convinced it was 'bigger' than that. And even more convinced it involved drugs (taking and selling) or hooking. The fact that he had sex with her that day though, should render my hooker thought process invalid. The only other option for me then, is thieving. Drives me fecken nuts knowing we'll never find out the truth. I have always believed she's an amphetamine user btw.

This is a holiday weekend here in the UK, and I'm not entirely gutted I'll not get to hear the DT's closing. As soon as I reach my destination though, MDS will be the first place I check out, then youtube, depending on what you guys are saying. I'm strangely a bit nervous and don't understand why, maybe the thought of Travis being trashed all over again by the DT. I hope they have the sense to realise they shouldn't even attempt that again, and concentrate on their client's 'good' parts. That should take about 39 seconds then.

Looking forward to seeing what you great guys have to say later on tonight (my time). And May the Fourth be with you all tomorrow. That's about as old as me, so I'm off for now. Justice is getting closer for Travis and his family.

Someone on Twitter yesterday said that the other Walmart didn't open until 2010 as well. But yes, she definitely said SEVERAL times both to Nurmi and Juan that it was the same store so she's sunk. I hope Nurmi tries to tell the jury otherwise because I think Juan will replay her testimony or at least have it read into the record.

In fact, it's true. The other Walmart on Main Street in Salinas opened on July 7, 2010 per Walmart's press release.

It really doesn't matter how many Walmart stores are in Salinas, the fact is she said it was the same store, here is the transcript of that part of the conversation:
JM: You said you returned it back to the store in the Walmart in Salinas right?
    JA: That's correct
JM: And it's the same store that you brgought it from, right?

    JA: Yes
JM: Because it was in the, probably because it was in the same general vicinity, right?
    JA: Right

Who cares? She can't bring anything else into evidence. All she has left is slow talking Nurmi. I think all he'll talk about is what he calls Travis' sexual abuse of Jodi.

IMHO, maybe the ME did a big mistake, but I dont see how can that affect the fact she overkilled him, she lied to the police, she lied to the experts and she lied under oath no just to the jury but the judge and all of us... If I was a part of the Jury I will convict her because she is a freaking liar and that she still lies to save her skin, just because of that I will convict her.

To the question of whether he knew she was coming or not, is it just me or does it seem weird that since she would not have her phone on in AZ, she could not call him as she neared his house. I have never made a road trip to see anyone that I did not call them and check in every now and then with an update of my arrival time, especially if our arrival time was in the wee hours of the morning. Sure would be interesting to see Travis' phone records to see of she ever called him from a payphone. No phone calls points more towards "off the grid" type of behavior=more evidence of premeditation.

    Good morning all!
I was thinking last night about how there are so many unanswered questions in this case and I have a few working theories.
The ME's report and his omission of the dura is a little problematic and, perhaps it could become more of an issue if there wasn't so much other evidence. IMHO, there is a mountain of proof that Stabby killed Travis in cold blood. Maybe if there was more evidence to support Stabby's claim of self-defense, the ME report might be a bigger deal. Unfortunately for the defendant, there is just so much more proof that she murdered him and that she planned it. Dr. Southern drawl made a great analogy about how looking at the ME report's error in the scheme of the entire murder is like looking at the loss of a deck chair on the Titanic. It really looks insignificant when you know 1500 people drowned.

I've never been much of a contrarian, but in this case, the more Nurmi, Wilmott and Arias strive to degrade and debauch Travis Alexander, the more they redeem and exalt him in my mind. Why kill a guy with one stab wound to the heart when 27 more, a throat slash and a gunshot will do just as well?

They don't seem to understand how their words have the exact opposite effect to what they intend.

This is the part I have the most problem with. I just can't see how the threat of her being exposed for 'simply' blackmail could do her any harm. To expose her to his friends imo wouldn't have a big impact on Jodi...
It wasn't blackmail ..... it was worse: the truth.

Travis was going to expose the lies, the many stalking incidents, the made up stalker email, the theft, the unauthorized entry into his accounts, theft of his correspondence, the threats to other women, the tire slashing... Pull the curtain back for all to see the nothingness that comprised Jodi.

He was going to poison her with this at PPL, which Jodi decided was her new breeding ground for relationship victims.

And he was going to expose her in the church, which was Jodi's other new source for relationship victims.

Travis had credibility and much more control of PPL and the church than Jodi ever could. She was planning on an, "I'll show you, T-Dogg" life of finding a more successful in PPL and better Mormon boy husband. In her mind, revenge every day. All for Travis to see. It was competition now for her. She planned on shining brighter than Travis.

But Travis was not only going to deprive Jodi of himself & his life, he was going to expose her within PPL and within the church ( as much as he could). He was pissed.

So ALL of that played into it. Jodi could not win. So she killed him, and said...

I beat you, you brat. I'm still here, and you're dead. I win.

Hey I think that ship (defense team looking like a liar) has sailed. It will be interesting to see how they proceed today after Juan' s preemptive strike about JA not letting Travis rest in peace. A final trashing of Travis should seal the deal for her fate.

I was just listening to a podcast about the death penalty. It was talking about this jury being comprised of more men than women, and went on to say that men have a tougher time imposing the death penalty on a woman.
I am not positive I buy this argument. I realize its just to make me bonkers during deliberations, however, my hubby was listening with me and he commented that he would vote DP in a NY minute for stabby.
Most of the women I know would not be for the DP, however, again in this case, they say they would inject her themselves.
So.... what do you intelligent people think?
As if I need one more fucking thing to worry about with this jury lol

    No track, never happened?????

As Marge Gunderson would say: Iiiiiiiiiiii'm not sure I agree with you a hundred percent on your police work, there, Lou.

Oh, yah, that Margie, she's a super lady... <---I live by Fargo, say it with that accent. go on, you know you want to...I am going to ALL day now. In fact, I may try to imitate Nurmi with that accent all day. That would make him more bearable, cuz I would be giggling my ass off, instead of wanting to break stuff and FED EX him Red Bull by the KEG.
